walked into my 4year old son room to fright of my life!!! *worried sick!*

let us know how you got on.

im a fellow nosebleeder. nurofen can help as it eases any swelling in the nasal passages.

you said you had been at a safari, does lo have hayfever by any chance? one of my main allergens for nosebleeds is hay and straw (which id imagine he would have been near since some safari animals sleep on/eat it)

hope hes ok

my little girl has been having nose bleeds lately. she had 3 in one week a few weeks ago. i wasnt sure what to do but was adviced its normal part of childhood. like you i've never had any so was like what? but seems to be normal. xx

Id have totally crapped it myself. Best to put your mind at rest and go visit A&E.

Hope everything is ok, let us know what you do and how you get on xx

i went mental and felt both sick and lightheaded and i am alright with blood, i never took him to the hospital because i was told if the bleeding had stopped then there was nthing that can be done and to maybe take him to doctors when they re-open. i texted my mum and said keep an eye on him he has only had a little bleed since last night but it honstly was horrific, looked like a bloody crime scene but cleaned him up and the place up although he was pretty freaked out i slept beside him all night to check

sorry this an edit. things have changed, he was fine all day and i wasn't worried about him, then tonight at bedtime his temp went up and he has started seeing things. called nhs24 and waiting now for a call back i am really worried now.

crap :( Keep us updated, hope he's ok x

i am just waiting to get call back they said they aim to call back within an hour, my mother said hospital now, my MIL and father have both offered to take me to nearest childrens hospital. little worried he is asleep though so unsure what to do.

I would go to hospital if I were you. Will put your mind at rest. Hope all is ok.

going to go just waiting on nhs saying then means i have extra reason to be at the hospital frankly i don't care if doctors think i am wasting thier time now this is not health 4 year olds should now be having nosebleeds like this with a high temp and seeing things, he has a wee cough for last 4 weeks but just thought he was taking a while to get over it but its gotten worse

I would just go ahead and take him in. Good luck, let us know how you get on!

shall do its prob nothing but i would rather it be nothing than something and keep him here

Don't think twice about wasting doctors time, or what they think. If it's nothing, it'll be dealt with quickly, if it's something, they will find it. It's best you go in now I'm certain. Good luck, try not to worry, but it's what us moms do best!

I always weigh it up by think what would i regret more... wasting doctors time or letting my DS get poorly.

Hopefully nhs24 have called back and made an appt at the clinic tonight for you.
x

yeah hopefully the more time i wait the sicker i feel :(

I've not had a proper nose bleed but my DD did scratch up my nose when we were playing and it bled a TON. But it's different when it's yourself, I wouldnt worry about wasting time always better safe than sorry :hugs:

Gosh my heart is in my mouth for you, definately doign the right thing going to hospital. Mention everything the tasting of metal the seein things... if there were splatters of blood maybe he banged his nose real hard and that's what bought the bleed on.

Fingers and toes crossed for you xxxx

Aw hun, that sounds so scary, hope hes ok now xxx

Oh your poor things x that must have been so scary for you & your little boy x
I really hope everything is ok xxxx
