Hi, Im not sure on what the sizes are but ours is a morphy richards and is fab I really wouldnt be without it, my parents gave it to us when we moved in here (our first home) as they disnt use it often I used it more than them but they ised to cook stews in it on a sunday for everyone and there would be 6 of us and baby and we'd all have good portions with still some left in pot for seconds, im not sure if it says the size on it but I can check and will post if it has.

I had a 6.5 litre cookworks one from Argos and it was great - think that's about the biggest you can get. I dropped the pot last week getting it out of the oven and it cracked  I borrowed MILs 3.5 litre one and tbh I've been struggling with the size so I'll be buying the cookworks one again - it's reduced to about £17 at the moment. With a bigger one you don't have to fill it up, but at least you have the option. And it's good for whole chickens and joints of meat - in the oven as well as the slow cooker (most of the ceramic dishes are oven safe - the lids aren't but I just cover mine with foil). And you'll pay £15 for a smaller one anyway, so for the extra £2 its worth getting. It doesn't have a digital timer or anything, but with slow cooking it doesn't really matter if you leave it in longer than planned.

ETA: Damn just noticed its gone back up to £22 now, wish I'd bought it last week now lol! Still the cheapest 6.5l one though.

I have a 4.7L one and its a good size for us. Theres 2 adults and 2 kids (same age as yours) and we get 1 generous meal for us all and another 1-2 portions as leftovers for lunches or the freezer.

I have a crockpot i got off amazon. the pot part is ceramic and can go on the hob, in the oven, in the microwave (if you can fit it in lol) and even in the freezer :)

I've a breville one from argos (think it's about £35 but usually on offer) I paid about £12 with discounts for mine and love it. It's currently cooking our dinner right now. Think our's is a 5.5 litre one though I usually only do enough in it for 3 but when OH's kids are here it cooks for 6 of us.

anyone eles ? also how do u actually cook stuff in them ? say if i did a beef caserole ,dy put everything in2geva etc ?

I have a cusinart one - has a 6.5litre capacity - excellent for pieces of meat, large casseroles, chilli etc. bigger capacity does give more options.
