Wanting my 2nd, but have had 2 spinal fusions

I have a 7 year old son who I adore... but my fiance and I really want to try for a baby.
My problem is, that at the moment I am nearly 10 weeks post op from my 2nd spinal fusion surgery. I had both lumbar fusions (6 screws, 2 rods and a bone graft) done at levels L4/5 S1.

I don't know whether to go ahead, have the IUD removed in July as planned OR phone my surgeon for advice. My fear is that he might say to wait longer. I don't want to be having children in my 30's (i'm 28 at the moment, 29 in november)

What to do?

Has anyone else had children following a spinal fusion?

I don't know anything about your surgury but I would think its best to speak to you surgeon first.

I rang my surgeons secretary today, and my surgeon was in theatre all day. She's printed out my notes from when i was last at the clinic and is going to talk to him tomorrow and phone me back. i'll keep you posted xx
