Wanting to foster/adopt

When I was 6 I was raped by my stepfather. It scarred me literally impairing me from having children for the rest of my life. We had a scare (or we'll an almost blessing) about a year ago and we have been wanting to adopt for years. The doctor said there is no way I can have children and that broke my heart. I neded to know if there is any place or people to talk to who give their child away (transfer guardianship) to a mother who can't have her own children. I don't ask for handouts often because I'm a stable person with a great paying job but I hinestly don't have the money to adopt. Please someone help me.
