With DS I got out of the pool after 2 hours as I felt really tired and warm. So when it came to DD's birth I wasn't keen on using the pool at all, but the midwives urged me to give it a go again and I'm so glad I did. Such a contrast to DS's birth. It felt like the most natural thing in the world, just had gas and air, only pushed for 5 mins instead of 4 hours with DS, and everything just kind of happened. Prob helped that I was 9cm when I got to hospital and DD was born 2 hours later, most of that time in the pool. It was still painful but it was a lot more manageable and it was a lovely calm environment for a baby to be born into. My midwife was also fantastic. Good luck!
