Each time DH and I discuss names, we say it out loud with our surname and it sounds awful.

Our surname ends in "ie," so really anything that ends in ie or y sound quite terrible with our surname.

Examples of names that I LOVE, but can't use, are:

Ivy
Brody
Evie
Hallie
Lottie
Sophie (DH won't consider Sophia, which sounds great with our surname)

Also because of what our surname actually is (it's kind of a word surname), names like Ben, Beau and Max sound kinda funny. I think we need at least two syllables and not ending in "ie" or "y." I can't find any that I love.

Can someone please give me some suggestions? :)

My last name is Nappi and if we have a girl we would name her Noelle or Scarlett. Our son would be Gabriel.

It's annoying having to fit with surnames right? Our surname has two l's and ends in an s so therefore any names that end in s or have l's towards the end sound silly.

It's unfortunate when a surname ruins a type of name. I have the same issue with names ending with -son/-n as so does our surname and it sounds awful with a lot of cute names I love.
Since you don't have the same issue, perhaps you'd like these names:
Emerson
Rhielyn/Rylan
Grayson
Carson

Other options:
Davis
Nicholas
Tyler
Edwin
Thomas
Harper
Evelyn
Eleanor
Iris
Violet
