We're weaning LO at 5.5 months - does he need 6+ month milk to go with his food or do we contine with stage 1 milk until he literally turns 6 months?

There's no need to switch to follow on at all! It's fine to stick with first milk until a year.

i agree - if your lo has no probs on stage 1 i would just stick with it

Oh, I'm confused!! I thought they moved up to a different milk at 6 months??

no they dont have to, 6+ milks were brought out as a marketing tool for companies to get their names out there as they are not allowed to advertise stage 1 -

i have never used anything other than stage 1 as my kids were happy with the milk so i saw no reason to change, particularly at a time where i was introducing lots of new things into their diets

Fab, thanks. I agree with not introducing too much change so we'll probably stick to what he knows.

We have stuck with stage 1 milk as lo is happy she gets everything she needs from her meals.
Some babies struggle with follow milk and can get constipated.
