Hi, my son is 5 months and 2 weeks. Can I start weaning him now or do I have to wait till the 6 month mark?

The guidelines are to wait until 26 weeks but at the end of the day it is up to you :)
If you're doing BLW there's no harm in starting now as he won't eat for a while anyway. But if you're going to be doing purees, I would only really start now if he has all the 'signs', like sitting unaided and being able to reach, grab then bring things to his mouth accurately. As I said, up to you though :)

If you feel that your baby is ready then go for it. If they're demonstrating the signs of being ready - more interested in watching you eat, not as satisfied by milk alone etc. My HV recommended definately starting at 6 months but not before 17 weeks if it could be helped.
