hi all,
LO is 7 months old.. just a question about Weetabix..
can he have them? are they a good choice or a bad one?
do I mix with his milk or cows milk?
thanks in advance :flower:

im sorry I thought I was in weaning section.. hope I don't get shouted at! don't know how to move the thread x

 I have moved for you, you won't get shouted at LOL!

Anywhos, you can mix with either milk at his age :)

Just depends on if you want to give your LO sugar / salt before 1. I avoid weetabix because I don't want to give my LO any sugar or salt. Personal choice.

I give my LO ready brek (the sainsbury's own one) as it has no sugar / salt.

I do it with almond/rice milk but only because he has a milk allergy otherwise i would use cow's milk. You're OK using cow's milk to cook with or do porridge etc.

Thank you. It was the sugar and salt content I was unsure about. May give it a miss for now x

I spoke to my HV yesterday and they actually advise weetabix as an introduction to cereals.

I was pretty worried about the salt content but she explained to me that as long as you don't go ADDING salt to food and avoid salty stock cubes (although she did say they were ok occasionally) then salt that's already in food is ok and not to stress over every little morsel they are eating. As long as they are having a balanced diet then they will be fine.

Weetabix is actually a low sugar/ salt cereal compared to most. Unless you're gonna give a completely unrefined one like shredded wheat or porridge oats, weetabix is the next best thing.
My LO has weetabix for breakfast most days and always has

He has weetabix with coconut milk and when he was younger with his special formula as he has cmpa x
