weight gain question....

I lost weight in my pregnancy up until the last 4 weeks. I don't have a history of eating disorders though. I had severe ms and wasn't able to leave the house for a few months. The couple of times I tried I ended up being sick on the sideway outside our house (gross I know) try not to stress too much though and maybe try to carry some small healthy snacks with you at school

Hi hun, i wouldnt worry too much yet. As long as you do your best to eat helthy you will be fine. I suffer with an ED (currently in recovery) and although my son was planned, when i fell pregnant i found the thought of gaining so much weight very difficult. I lost weight in the first tri as i had severe morning sickness and couldnt keep anything down atall. During the whole pregnancy i only gained just over a stone.. so mostly all baby and water. But i had a very healthy baby. I ate well during the pregnancy, but i kept it healthy. Eating small amounts but often i find is the best way.

Good Luck hun xxx

Going from 400 calories to 1200-2000 is a big step so well done for overcoming that. I'm guessing that you've probably had Anorexia for at least several months if you're suffering from electrolyte imbalance - but that's good news that you're obviously still ovulating. You've got the right idea about getting back in touch with your Psychiatrist - sadly, GPs just don't have the time to spend with patients these days whereas a Psychiatrist/Psychologist will have much longer appointment slots to give you. They can hopefully help you address other areas in your life that are making you unhappy, which is sadly so common in Anorexia (and other eating disorders) and hopefully give you enough control over other areas of your life so that you can relax your control over what you eat and your weight. A Dietician specialising in this area is also a good idea:hug:

I lost about 9/10 lbs. I was so ill. Im surprised id didnt lose more tbh

I'm definitely impressed if you went from eating 400 calories (oh and I couldn't imagine eating that little :p) to 1200-2000! Getting in touch with your psychiatrist and dietician would be a great idea. I can't personally reccommend or not a psychiatrist, but was going to suggest dietician as even though I love food I've consulted my doctor and what not to make sure I was getting the right amounts of everything!

I have lost 13 pounds and in a little over 16 weeks and i havent had any morning sickness so far my doctor doesnt seem worried im just trying to eat as often as i can.

thanks for all the support guys. I am sadly still losing weight but I got in contact with my dietician who has me making a food diary and am having a consultation with my psych as she seemed like it might be a good idea to just have an evaluation with everything thats going on and then possibly meet every two weeks... She did not seem worried from what I told her she was actually proud of me.

Holly21 actually they think its pretty much a miracle I still have my period I have been diagnosed with anorexia since fifth grade. Although I got out of a recovery clinic a few months ago which is probably why I started ovulating again. Sadly that recovery clinic left me before I was recovered enough to eat on my own but bubs is making that decision for me now and of course my OH as he is terribly hurt by what I have been doing myself and was the first person to help me realize it hurt others with it. But yes it was a miracle I was ovulating...

I had an eating disorder in my early 20's too.
I'm nine weeks pregnant and I l've lost over 3kg (about 1/2 a stone). Obviously not purposefully but because I've been so sick.
I haen't lost any more weight recently although I haven't actually put any on yet...

Just eat when you want and what you want. Don't worry too much!
