Weird Bleeding

I got what I thought was my AF last Thurs on cd 24 only a week approx after ov, which is really too early, even though my cycles have been a bit messed up since mc in April.

Before this I thought I may be pg as I was having pulling pains and cramps and sore bbs. Having said that I feel like this every month :). When the bleeding started, I was sure AH had started and that was what the pains were.

The thing is it's not like my usual AF. Sorry for tmi, it's not flowing out of me, it's only there if I feel for it inside me and apart from 1 day when there was a tiny bit of red blood, it looks more like brown/black clots. I have only used 1 tampon, and it came out spotted with the same strange colour blood and felt really dry.

I'm still getting strange pains, and have done 2 tests, 1 last Sat and 1 on Tues and they were both BFN. have had bleeding for a full week now.

Anyone got any advice? My AF last month was totally normal.

Thanks
SL

Hi there Sugarlove. Sorry for your loss. I too had some strange bleeding experiences after my 2 AF. My first AF was normal, but my second came about a week early and lasted for 18 days straight. The bleeding varied between spotting, brown blood, red blood and extremely heavy bleeding with very large clots. When the bleeding wouldn't stop, I had and u/s and my doc discovered that I had a very large clot in my uterus. I guess it took a few AF's for it to move down and cause trouble. It turns out I ended up passing the clot and AF's have now returned to normal (I'm on AF number 4). You should get checkout though, if you have some clots in uterus they can cause an infection if they stay in long enough. Hope this helps.......

That sounds EXACTLY what I'm going through. I've now had 3 AFs since my miscarriage and they've all been the same--and my cycles have gone from 30+days to 18. But this past cycle I passed some dry clots with no blood on non-period days and now I'm getting ov symptoms when I should. I'm hoping my period holds off a few more days or that I get a proper flow.

I do have an appointment booked with a specialist in September. I'd highly recommend doing the same though be prepared for your doctor to try and convince you that your body will fix itself. Or that your symptoms are just PMS.

What I thought was my AF (2 weeks) after I found out I was miscarrying was normal. However, I'm thinking the real AF only comes after your HCG levels are at zero, which mine were not. I bleed week 6 and 7 after finding out I m/c week 8 I found my HCG levels are now at 2. I have another blood test scheduled for next week. I was a little freaked out by such long bleeding. My Dr. told me its normal as long as the bleeding isn't heavier than a normal period. It is now starting to get lighter and will HOPEFULLY stop sometime this week!! Hope this helps, but please do talk to your Dr. if you are concerned :) Good luck sweetie!

AF came a week after strange clotting. It's really painful too.

I'm going to see my Doc next week. She referred me to the hospital last month, but they just said it was IBS.

I'm worried it's endometriosis

I have IBS too and my doc said the same thing when I went in with really bad cramps. But IBS never has given me aching breasts either. lol However, I've read that IBS is linked to hormones (which is why more women than men have it) so I have been having real bad flare ups, well, since I got pregnant in the first place. Now it's just haywire.

My hcg was officially at zero the day before my second AF (I got a negative hpt 3 weeks before my first AF but I never got follow up blood work until second AF so I don't know when I hit zero). My last period was at least of normal duration--7 rather than the 10 days I had with my first two. I'm starting to cramp again right now but I'm hoping it's either IBS or just due to my ov pains. I don't want another 18 day cycle. :( I don't like the thought of AF showing up 3 days after ovulation. That's just messed up.
