Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Well, put T to school, then Kat and I went for a drive in the "storm". Blowing hard wind and driving rain- she loved it! We got our drinking water and stuff for dinner for afew days. Hey, I got lucky though and appprently cooked enough dinner last night dh suggested we eat leftovers :saywhat: OK! I am easy! I don't mind not cooking :haha: I think I'll relax in the bath for once! :cloud9: when it's not past midnight......

Nothing wrong with leftovers! Some things even taste better when they are leftovers! Like soup, chili, lasagne, always taste better the second day.
They will be eating leftovers for a while once you have babes. So they better get used to it!

OK it is 8:17pm and I'm about done with work. I'm supposed to work until 9pm assuming that I got an hour lunch break. Well I didn't get ANY break. So I think I should just call it quits, what do you think? Normally I can't do this because we need someone to watch the phones for the last hour until 9pm, but Kyle is working this same shift. So I think it would be just fine for me to say.. byebye!

Hmmm...what is required if you stay on? I mean-- if you sneak away from the computer will anyone know? If it were me I'd get caught :haha: so I'd end up staying. But if you were my employee and you didn't get your lunch break I would be required by law to "send you home" an hour early. So----yep, call it quits! :haha:

Btw- men being men...Kyle is going to be a butt and call it quits if you don't! But forewarning...if you quit he's gonna call and ask for help

Hi ladies :hi: How are you tonight? Ali you were talking about plantar fasciitis, which I have a touch of after my foot surgery. The thing I use a lot at physical therapy is this roller and it works!

Coy how are you doing Super Woman? Chopping wood and past EDD??? Omg, I'm surprised she didn't pop out! I hope she comes soon so you can get back to feeling comfortable.

Afm, had some slight ovary twinges, and I'm back to temping at my normal week day time. I think the spikes this weekend were due to sleeping in. Cp is low and firm, cm creamy, I'm constipated and gassy...I'm going to drink a lot of prune juice. With the exception if 1 small cup of coffee on Sat and 1 on Sunday, I haven't had caffeine, not even chocolate

My chart looks kind of crazy, but we'll see what happens this week. Hubs is getting me some non-sushi suhsi for me..California roll and a cooked roll. I need my wasabi fix!!

Babywhisperer-

Actually your chart looks awesome at this point! Still very nice and high  And kudos on the caffeine! I know how hard it can be! What I did is if I didn't get my bfp I would indulge for 2-3 days then cut it off again  Shame on me! :haha:

Oooooo I love wasabi! Usually on chicken egg rols or something (not into fish or sushi...) Wow! And did you really have 5 days of ewcm?! that's totally awesome! That means even if you are getting creamy right now there may stioll be tons of ewcm , uh, up in there! :haha: Perfect home for little swimmers! Fx'd lady! :hugs:

Nuts! I was going to take a long warm bath whiole the dd's watched a movie but the debate came on. I love to hate watching debates! :haha: Gotta go watch.....:coffee:.....

I did have the most days yet, but I think that taking EPO contributed to it.

I like my morning travel mug of coffee, but I never finish it as it's large. It helps me wake up on the train, and go to the bathroom at work...I get stage freight at a new office

I got a shrimp tempura and eel roll and a California roll with tons of wasabi. I have a major salt tooth, and I love spice. My fav is Thai, Malaysian, Indian, and Mexican. I love flavorful food with complex seasonings.

I pray this is our month. I fear going down the road of REs and FSs, tests, all to be inconclusive. I will be 37 in 5 weeks so I fear my age could be the insurmountable factor to being blessed with a child. I hope I did ovu, but if not I ill be making an appt with my obgyn for tests. Fx'd.

OMG- did you say "stage freight" !! :haha:  LOL! That's too funny....Oh, btw- no sweat on the age I don't think. I am already 37! Nothing insurmountable about that....Just stay healthy  Your chart temps indicate Ovu...your cm has me wondering but if you are doing EPO or mucinex those can be contributing factors to that as well. I say go with the Ov date but keep bd'ing. Wish you had some IC opks! Then you could watch for additonal surges if there are any. As long as you bd... Fx'd for ya! :hugs:

Meh. That's enough debate for now. Gonna hit the tub!

I'm already in bed! I get so annoyed watching the debates I just want to smack them both upside the head, stop putting words in each others mouths and TELL ME how you plan on fixing the issue or how you have fixed it in the past. I don't want to hear how your opponent didn't fix it or voted against it in the past. That is a bunch or malarkey!!! Makes me wish we had another candidate that stood above this childishness!

On that note.. I'm going to try to be asleep before 11pm! I can't remember the last time that happened!

Lol, ALi- you are so riled I bet you're not asleep yet :haha: Yes, I feel the same way- like watching the whirling dirvish  I understand nit-picking...I just think they should be grown-ups about this whole thing

Re: me. :haha: Never made it into my bath- YET! I have plans to though...still getting kiddos ready for bed :hissy: lol!

Getting the oddest feeling tonight...maybe my little thinker will appear?

OOOH.. babes might finally make her appearance? :yipee:

Let's hope! :dust:

Wouldn't you know it? JUST got them to sleep...*sigh*. Now I am beat and thinking of skipping the long soak as that'll just cut into :sleep:time :haha: Maybe a quick shower and bed. Weird, I haven't been hungry today much even with all the walking and wood cutting:shrug: Wonder what that's all about. I skipped breakfast, had a snack of a peice of cinnamon bread...skipped lunch...skipped dinner...had a glass of milk and a bread roll. Hm.

I think the tests were mainly to help determine if I still have PCOS or Fibroids, I don't think they're for much more than that at the moment to be fair as I think thats the sort of thing I would get tested for once I was referred to a Fertility Specialist and GP told me that I would have to have been trying for 2 years before he could do the referral.

I think Xytex should give you free viewings and free :spermy: Just my opinion of course, but like you've said, you paid a lot for a defective product really.

I have downloaded some information on a Fertility clinic about 5 minutes drive from my house to have a look at, you can get referred there by a GP, FS or self referral. Of course, Self referral would be completely private, which would cost a lot, no prices quoted, strangely enough! Referral from GP or FS could be paid for initially by NHS. We don't have insurance the way some of you guys do, we pay for it via the Government collecting money from our Salaries etc.

The tests to determine if you have PCOS should include a hormone panel. At least they do here. Along with the ultrasound. I wish you could convince your Dr that you were trying for longer so you could get in to the FS with it being paid by your NHS!! Don't those waiting periods change as you get older? They do here. If you are in your 20s and TTC, they suggest 1 year here. But once you get above 30 they suggest 6 months, and over 35 I think they just say go get yourself checked out with a FS if you want.

I just hope that he finds something wrong, or suggests something that will help you get pregnant!

I kept mentioning my age, but doc just kept saying that whenever he sends anybody to the FS, who has been ttc for less that 2 years, they just get bounced back. Its only 4 days until the ultrasound now. I am also due to start AF that day. They will do the external one anyway, but I don't know if they would do the internal if its needed or if they would have to book another appointment for after AF.

Hubby is at the docs today, so I asked him if he would speak to them about getting SA done. He wasn't sure about it, but I told him that as they won't check me out any further at the moment, at least we can get him checked out. I wonder if he did ask about it. Hmmm, I bed he conveniently forgot!

Coy, I remember the night before ds was born I felt "weird" too. Kinda sick but couldn't really put my finger on it. Let's hope this is it!!!

AFM, My temp was up again today after the dip yesterday. I'm pretty much 100% sure that they have my Ov day wrong on FF. I had bad Ov pain on CD11 and they are saying that I Ov'd on CD 12. Should I override it or just let it figure it out??

Is anyone a vip member on FF? Is it worth it??? Also not sure why all my signs don't show up on my chart...can you tell on my not very computer savvy lol:)

Have a great day all!

Hey, well, I have to apologise to my DH as he did in fact speak to the doc about SA, but as they did with me too, they mentioned the fact that I did get preg over a year ago and we haven't been trying for 2 years yet. Its so frustrating, if the baby had survived, it was due 7 Feb and I could have been preg again by now!

Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Sorry, just felt like shouting.

They do ultrasounds here (the internal kind) even when you have your period. In fact when you start a cycle they ask that you come in on CD3 for the ultrasound, so they should be able to do your ultrasound regardless of your period. In fact, it would be good to do so! If your tech is good, she will hopefully see the corpus luteum from last cycle, which will show that you O'd, and you should see multiple follicles in various stages of development. If you see lots of little black circles (and they are measuring in the 1-2mm size) then that is indicative of PCOS. If you see 3-5 follicles and they are measuring above 3mm then this is normal.

I hope everything turns out for you! If they figure out that you do have PCOS, and put you on metformin this should help regulate your cycles, which should make it easier for you to conceive! I'd ask them about it when you go see the Dr.

I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. I had a miscarriage this past June. Ironically, the friend that I called to watch my kids for me so I could go to the OB for confirmation of a miscarriage?? She was actually 5 weeks pregnant but didn't tell me. We conceived at the exact same time. She is now 7 months pregnant and every time I see her I get sad.

I really don't understand why they won't take you? I went to a FS with my ds and the "rule" was that you had to be trying for a year. We had actually been actively trying for 6 months but they still saw us b/c we had been married for 7 years and never used bc. Is there anyway you can push through this stupid red tape?? So frustrating.

Again, so sorry. :hugs:

Hey BabyDust..

I bought the FF premium or whatever they call it. It was cool, you got extra insight into what they use to determine your O day, and extra advice on your symptoms and how they shake up for a :bfp: I'd wait to see what FF does. It doesn't know how you were feeling on CD11 and how you felt that it was your O day. It only has the information you give it. Which are temps and CM, and OPKs if you had them. So it does the best it can. Honestly FF is only helpful after the fact. It can't tell you when to BD, and it won't be accurate until it has 3-5 months of cycles to compare. You just have to trust yourself, and your body, and use FF as a guide. I know OPKs are expensive, but they are the ONLY way to know when you are about to ovulate. FF really only tells you once you have ovulated, and usually about 3-5 days after the fact! CM is another good predictor of when you should BD. However I noticed that my EWCM came 1-2 days before I O'd, which is good timing, but it in itself can't tell you when you are about to O. I know it is totally annoying, and frustrating, but if you want to get the bet picture of your cycles, you need a few cycles of history, OPKs, temping and CM. Once you have done that for a few months you'll get a better idea of when O occurs. Until then, its best to just BD every other day during the middle part of your cycle.

Thanks Ali and Babydust, I wish I could rush it through, but I think the only way would be to go private, which to be honest, will be a struggle moneywise.

A friend of mine, who has PCOS, was put on Metformin and she got preg on her first cycle using it, so fingers crossed, something may be done. It'll be tight timewise as I'm due to start AF on the same day as the Ultrasound, so as soon as I know if thats what it is, I'll have to go see Doc and insist on him giving me something like that as I know things like Clomid are usually taken from the 2nd, 3rd or 5th day of AF, for a few days, but I'm not sure when you would take Metformin.

I'm going to start with FertiliTea as soon as AF arrives, which will hopefully help too. I'm due a shorter cycle soon though, as they're not all 80+ days.
