Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Maggie- your chart has oretty limited info but as far as your bbt--looks like you have probably ovulated somewhere around the 16th or 17th?? As your temp is still up that's a good sign if you did any bd'ing during your fertile week  You'd be somewhere around 12dpo? Have you tested with an hpt? when is AF due?

TwoToGo- fx'd for your upcoming appt.! :hugs:

Ali- hope you got your nap in!

Babydust- glad to hear from you I know it's difficult with all that is going on. Fx'd for this month!

Nope.. no nap.. Got working! You should see the piles of clothes I have on the floor in my bedroom, it looks like some crazy  lady pulled every piece of clothing out of her closets and dumped it on the floor. Well :haha: that is exactly what I did! I probably saved about 40% of what was currently in the closet, plus all my formal and dressup clothes. The clothes I wear every day are in the 2 laundry baskets, so I probably kept 50-60% of my clothes and am getting rid of about 40-50%. Most of it either doesn't fit me, or has gone out of style or just doesn't fit my lifestyle anymore. So I'm going to pack it up and show it to a friend of mine that is a little smaller than I am. She might enjoy the free clothes. If not, I'm going to take it to GoodWill.

Laundry is about 50% complete, kitchen is spotless, grocery list is written, so I'm going to have a piece of my GF pizza leftover from last night, and then head to the the market for my veggies, and then off to Super Target for the rest. I enjoy going there because I can get other things too. I know this is going to sound silly but when my friend was staying here I swear things went missing. My best cookie sheet, 1 oven mit, and 1 of my set of 4 little bowls I use for dipping sauces.. all GONE! :argh: So if they have good prices on these items at Target I will pick them up, if not I'll wait until I next go to Walmart. What was he doing that would ruin all 3 items? Strange.

What are you up to Coy?

Terri - Where are you? How is the FertiliTea working for you? Have you noticed a difference?

Hey Twotogo,

I'm lurking a bit in the background really, have been so busy at work, today and tomorrow are days at the dive site, where we don't really get a good signal to get online, so I've not been much of a 'talker' lately.

I've got everything crossed that it all goes well for you with the Surgeon, you seem to have a really good outlook on it, you have been in my prayers.

FertiliTea, yup, I like it, although ever since I started taking it, I have been getting wicked headaches. I do get them sometimes though and have so far managed to just take Paracetamol. I have noticed a change in CM though, there seems to be more of it than normal. I'm still really early in my cycle though and who knows how long it'll be!! LOL!

FirstTry, great news on the eggies, especially as it was not meant to be an IVF cycle, I've got my fingers crossed that they have progressed really well over the weekend so that you have plenty to transfer and freeze.

Ali, you sound busy too, I've been working 9 hour days for the last week, plus 2 of them had 3 hour commutes (1.5 hours each way), then there was the Zumba and 2 lots of swimming and of course, the household chores, washing, vacuuming, polishing and the problem with having a 3 storey house is that it has 3 loos to have to clean. Hubby is very good with helping, but for some reason, he won't do the bathrooms. He vacuums the stairs though as that hurts my back, we tend to share the rest.

Coy, give yourself a break Woman, you've just had a baby, I'm sure you'll be back down to your pre-pregnancy weight real soon the way you run around after your family, every pic of you I've seen shows you looking fab!

Everyone else I haven't mentioned :hi: Hope you're all doing well. :hugs:

:dust: :dust: :dust:

Terri- :hi: Glad to hear from you! I've been a bit worried as I haven't heard fropm you in a while. I keep checking your chart though  Glad you will get some diving in!

Ali- lol, you sound like me only there is nooooo way I could call my kitchen spotless :nope: I WISH! My 2 dd's have a way of, well, messing it up  Dh too once in a while. No one knows where the garbage can is apparently  They use the counter...I have started putting a trash bag in the sink as that is where all the garbage was going, but then they started to use the counter.....I guess to avoid the garbage bag? LOL! Anywho...went to the store today and bought steak, eggs, gatorade, and veggies.....I am proud of myself, last night I had steak for sinner and my glucose sat at 90 instead of jumping to 144! Protein is def the way to go. Oh, one more reason for the store management to hate me (especially the guy in the meat market that bags the chicken, etc). I found his little dirty secret :haha: He has been sneaking 1/2 prices on the good steaks for employees. I caught one of the employees in the meat last night while I was shopping. There were two steaks left and I reached past her and picked them up- $2.00 a pound instead of $6.00 a pound! I have been finding these every other evening...the employee got ticked and snapped at me "well I guess it's Chinese noodles for us tonight!" even though there were plenty of steaks there....just not rigged price steaks  Anyways, naughty me, I found more today....Am I bad? I think if the meat guy is rigging prices for his buddies he can rig a few for me too! :haha:

I also fixed the fence in the back yard today, tossed some of the bigger wood blocks so we can split them later, then cut kindling wood....that's about it. OH! And I fit into my awesome tuff cargo pants again :cloud9: I call them my "baddass" pants as they are virtually indestructable! Just a teeny bit snug on the hips still :sad1:

Hey Coy! Sounds like you are on a roll! Eating healthy, getting great discounts, even if they weren't officially meant for you. I wonder if you should go in there and secretly tape his discounting the meats like that for your court case? You can say.. listen I'm not re-tagging things, he is!
I've had a mega busy day.. holy cow! Cleaned out the closets, cleaned the kitchen, did my laundry, grocery shopping and I'm making a chicken, broccoli and rice casserole, and a steak, rice, black beans, corn and cilantro pesto bowl. I'm going to put them in 1-2 person sized portions and freeze them. I also have to make some GF bread.
Tomorrow my Mom is coming down and we are going to get working on my back yard. I want to get it cleaned up and looking better. It has been too long, and if I don't do it soon I'm going to get too bloated and not have the energy to do it. It is going to be a beautiful day, not too hot, and lower humidity, so it will be a perfect day to work in the garden.

Oh, and I just about lost my mind when I went out earlier.. Christmas decorations! My neighbors took their Halloween decorations down and put up their Christmas ones... :ignore: I love Christmas, don't get me wrong, but it is still early November, NOT the time for Christmas, I'm still thinking Thanksgiving! :argh:

Tell me about it!! My kids are all excited w/the snow and everything but I am looking forward to Thanksgiving too...When I worked retail years ago they actually made us put up Christmas trees in SEPTEMBER for crying out loud! We had to be all set for Christmas by end of that month- sheesh! So I have really been enjoying ignoring it until season for last couple years

I am impressed with your menu! Sounds awesome, how do you make the cilantro pesto? So much for healthy....dh asked me to go buy chocolate chip cookie makings...so I have had 2 chocolate chip cookies :dohh: lol, but I gotta admit- they are AWESOME and I don't regret it :smug: lol!

Aw, Aeryn took her first official bath tonight :cloud9: She liked it but not used to being naked now  so we had to work fast. Then she got the treatment, lotion,e tc, new clothes, warm blanket and tanked up on milk. She's passed out on the couch in her blanket now :haha:

LOVE that visual of baby Aeryn, Coy! It is so scary for them when they take their first bath :( I just remember trying to get it over with as fast as possible!! Glad she's happy now  Interesting, my kids don't know where the garbage can is either!! Really one of my pet peeves!!!! I find garbage everywhere...rappers etc. ay yi yi

Ali, I'm on a cleaning kick too and have to tackle the basement which is my least favorite place to clean...toys everywhere!!!!! So frustrating! And I'm getting more and more tired by the minute! Better get to work!

Oh...and...I actually have put up tons of Christmas decorations ladies!!!:haha: I needed a pick me up after the hurricane and it did the trick:) I have never put them up this early ever! The main problem is that my 4yo ds thinks it's Christmas like right now!! He wants to put cookies out for Santa etc. lol :haha:

Sounds like you have her all set, so that means peace for you! Yum on the chocolate chip cookies! That sounds decadent. No cookies for me :nope:

I found the recipe for the cilantro pesto online. Normally pesto is basil leaves, pine nuts, olive oil, garlic and Parmesan cheese, throw it all in the food processor and BAM! (conjuring Emeril) you have pesto! It is great over chicken or pasta and chicken! YUM! The Cilantro pesto is similar, it calls for a bunch of cilantro, 5 cloves of garlic minced, 1 tbsp white wine vinegar, 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese grated, 1/2 tsp of cayenne, 1/2 cup of walnuts or pecans, 1/4 cup olive oil and salt to taste. Throw it all in the processor and BAM! I forgot to get the parmesan cheese at the store, so I can't complete the dish tonight :dohh: I will have to get some tomorrow. I'll get everything in the dishes tonight, and then make the pesto in the morning. Then pour it over the bowls before I freeze them.

BabyDust - you have a very good reason for putting up the decorations early. Whatever you guys can do to make things brighter you do it! I'm just not quite there yet. I especially don't like it when the stores are all trying to push their Christmas ware, it makes me just want to crawl under a rock and not shop. I think my issue is mostly with the commercialization of the holidays, and the movement away from the traditions, and the family aspects not to mention the reason we have Christmas at all. Too cute that your 4 yr old wants to bake cookies and look for Santa! :haha:

hey Coy, about this reduced price stuff, I reckon you should take a photo of whats showing on the shelves and take it to the person representing you, seems like you may have picked up a chicken they were hoping a member of staff would pick up. Even if its done by the staff, if its not authorised, they are stealing from the company, so they should be punished, not an innocent shopper who just happened to pick the meat up.

Just my 2 penneth, but if you can prove they're doing it, it'll definitely go in your favour!. xx

Babydust- aw, your ds wants to put out cookies and milk?! Lol, funny that my three year old dd wants to do the same! They are watching all the traditional Christmas films too ...Kids! :haha:

Ali- lol at conjuring Emeril :haha: And mmmm the cilantro pesto sounds awesome, I love the idea of putting cayenne in anything! Yes, not too many cookies for me either, I'm trying to lose this, um, well...fat :sad1: lol!

Terri- I know right? Crazy store with their prices...and when I manage to pick up the tricked stuff instead of their favorite employee they want to prosecute  In Babydust's words "ay yi yi" lol! I am saving receipts and price tags tho...What CD are you right now? How's the tea drinking going? Does it taste good? I have never tried the fertilitea...

AFM- hm. Let's see...rough night, babes has decided it is play time every morning at 3:30 or so...last night I just got up with her so she didn't keep dh awake  He has her now in the living room watching Sherlock Holmes...Dd's are out playing, I am wondering what to do next. School I guess :sad1: lol!

OMG, I am trying really hard not to be hormonal or childish but I hate, I HATE when people chew with their mouths open! Smack smosh smack smosh smack smosh. LOL! And then to top it off they suck their teeth! Aaargh! I think it must be the hormones...My hips and abs are seriously sore right now, I am thinking (okay, I am HOPING) this means they are on their way back to normal

I made dd's come in because it is starting to get windy. Thermometer said it got to 18 degrees F last night, so I made certain the fire kept burning. Says it is 29 right now but feels colder :cold: Maybe I am just wimping right now?

AFM, Been to the dive site with Hubby this weekend, I didn't dive, he was diving with some students and I was playing at being their surface cover, which means I sit out in the cold and check that nobody pops up distressed or anything. Yesterday, the temperature was about 3 degrees Celcius and today it was zero! I can't believe people are mad enough to get in the water in wetsuits. Most people have dry suits, which basically keep the majority of you dry, just hands and heads get cold, but some are still going in the 10 degree water in wetsuits. Brrrrrrr!

I will be diving tomorrow night, but its in a pool, so toastie warm! My friend is doing a taster session before she goes to Egypt next month as she would like to dive out there, so I thought it a good opportunity for me to go and get some practice in.

Has anyone heard from BabyWhisperer lately? I think we heard that the power was back on, but I don't remember reading anything after that, I hope all is ok.

Coy, I'm on CD16 at the moment, no sign of ov yet, but who knows when that'll be eh? FertiliTea does actually taste quite nice. I drink peppermint tea a lot anyway, so not much different there. hopefully it'll help with the cycle length.

Oh yes, Coy, most mornings I wake up at about 3am, I don't know why, but that just seems to be my time. Usually I take my temp, go to the loo and then go back to sleep until I get up properly. Some nights I wake up on the hour, every hour, its very frustrating, but at least its practice for when I do have a baby eh?

Afternoon Ladies!

I'm beat. Like not wanting to move beat. It has been a mega busy weekend for me. Doing lots of stuff. Clearing out my closets, cooking, gardening, fixing computers, I'm wiped out! I wish I could take tomorrow off and  ALAS, I cannot do that, I have to work.

My Mom came down, and we went to the market, that is amazing, it is right around the corner from my house and the things they have there, awesome! We got 2 bags of fruits and veggies for $16, it is just that cheap, but fresh and they have the coolest things there. I wish I could take pictures of these things! They have asian, and south american fruits and vegetables, things I have never seen before!

Then we went to Home Depot and picked up some fertilizer, some mulch and headed back to the house. We worked like troopers, pulling out all the palm fronds that my gardners throw behind the palms. Well they are going to have a HUGE surprise when they come here next because I piled it all on the neutral ground at the end of my street. So they will have to come cart it away. :haha: It is their job to do it, but instead they just toss it back behind the palms. Makes me ANGRY :growlmad: I also trimmed my mandevilla vine back, pulled out the overgrown ferns, so now it looks more managed, then we trimmed all my hibiscus bushes, and mulched everything. My Mom needed me to help her with her computer too, it needed some anti-virus updates and windows updates, so we got that done too.

Now all I want to do is take a shower (I'm filthy), and go to bed! Oh, but I need to eat first, I'm starving too. Good thing I made that chicken, rice and broccoli casserole last night. I'm going to pop that in the oven shortly. I'm just waiting for my sprinkler to finish watering, I don't want to be taking a shower while I'm watering, it will take my water pressure away! :nope:

So I have done 2 shots of Lupron so far, and it isn't that bad. The injection site itches for about 30 minutes after I do the shot, and I have been having trouble sleeping, but so far those are my only side effects.

I miss BabyWhisperer! I will have to message her on FB and tell her that we all miss her.

Tracey - glad to hear you are doing well with the Fertilitea, and that you are testing your ovulation, I hope it comes sooner for you this cycle!

Coy - I hear you about chewing with your mouth open. We aren't cows, we can be more restrained and eat with some decorum, right? :mamafy:

Did your DD's make another :xmas7:?

Lol, yep dd's made their snowman...then dug huge holes in him! Kids, eh? :haha:

Sounds like you need to get new yard caretakers! Ornery of them to make a big mess :growlmad:

What's for dinner? I have yet todecide, and heck yeah it is getting cold out! I still have to go out to return the Sherlock Holmes movie to the rental...not worth the money ladies, pass on that one! :haha: Oh and if you like Liam Neeson, don't get jollied in by that movie "Grey" it is terrible :nope: can't wait for Taken 2 though!

I have NOT heard from Babywhisperer, will have to FB shout at her too and see how she is?!

Unfortunately I can't fire the groundskeepers, they are part of the homeowners association, but I have called to complain, and they sorta kinda do a better job for a while, but they are still not cleaning out the crud behind the palm trees. :growlmad: It looks awesome now though

I haven't seen either of those movies, but yes Taken 2 will be interesting

I just turned the oven on, going to bake my broccoli, chicken and rice casserole, and will have that for dinner. I hope its good :happydance:

What about you? On a cold day like you are having I would make a big pot of chili and have a salad and garlic bread with it. Or maybe a pot roast? Might be too late to get either of those things going. I might make some chili next weekend, we'll see! I miss chili, it is so good!

Hi ladies! :hi: Ok, seriously this time-who wants to trade towns with me? So had a fairly pleasant day, the dd's played outside, etc, and dh and I enjoyed the ridiculous adventures of Austin Powers :haha: Then I decided to return our not-so-great Sherlock Holmes movie...Yeah. I returned the movie, ran int he store for about 4 minutes to buy spices for our dinner and when I stepped back outside- you guessed it.

Someone had repeatedly stabbed my truck tire.

:sad1:

So my dh (my hero :cloud9:) used his awesome new air tools and put a new tire on, we called pd, etc. The officer was "perdy sure" it must be crack from the weather, until my dh showed him how to determine (using his awesome investigator skills) that it was repeat stabs with a screw driver  The cop (this is the same guy who yelled at me and called me a liar :growlmad:) thanked him for the lesson and ashamedly slunk back to his patrol vehicle and did nothing  Typical.

:shock::shock::wacko:
Oh my! That is horrible!
Well, I don't want to trade you towns, but you could move to mine. :winkwink: It's a small town, so you still have some of the small town 'issues' but NOTHING like what you have been experiencing. Sheesh!

I don't think I want to trade towns either, but you are welcome to come down here! It isn't that small though, Boynton Beach is a busy suburb of West Palm Beach. Especially between Nov - March when all the snowbirds are here. What I love about it is that I have all the stores I could possibly ever want within 2-3 miles of my house. Super Target, 2 WalMarts, 4 Grocery stores, a mall and Kohl's, plus other stores I don't go as often, like BestBuy, Michaels, and TONS of restaurants. You name it we have it, and some of them are even walking distance. Plus the weather this time of the year is wonderful, balmy is the way I would describe it, not to hot, not too cold, and low humidity. Plus my complex has a heated pool, and I'm 3 miles from the beach. What more could you ask for?

Coy, I'm sorry that you are having these difficulties, it seems to me like you and your DH just need to stand tall and make those who are so childish and small minded see that they are in the wrong, and need to back off. I think you need to report that cop to his superiors, the police are there to protect you and he did nothing! That is not acceptable in my books.
