HI Grey Eyes- I would love to hear more about the progesterone. None of my doctors have ever suggested it and I know when I had mine tested one time it was quite high like 50 or something. This was during one of my chemical pregnancies. I did go to a FS about a month ago just to talk about my options and they also said that I seem to get preggo on my own but for some reason it's not sticking. Of course their reasoning is always that my eggs are no good any more which I don't totally buy. I think it's a bit of a cop out myself??
I did ask the FS about progesterone with my history of mc and she just said well it won't prevent it from happening if it's going to happen anyways. I don't know,I read so much about it on different forums and people seem to do well on it so I would go for it. Let me know how it goes?
How are you Philomena?
Actually in some cases progesterone
can prevent an mc from happening depending upon the initial cause...As you and I are both past 30-something-ish
our bodies naturally do not produce as much progesterone, which of course is essential to baby surival. According to my doc age can be a factor in the corpus luteum dying prematurley. That will cause the baby to die no matter what UNLESS you are taking a natural progesterone to supplement and tide the little guy over til the placenta kicks in. Might you consider getting some and trying it post conception and throughout? I have read some ladies start it right after ovulation (or thereabouts) and continue. If you get your bfp it may help beanie stick as it has aided in the thickening of the uterine wall (for implantation ease) and then of course sustenance for the blastocyst. BTW it cannot hurt to try it my doc says it is totally natural (if you get bio-identicle and/or micronized progesterone, e.g., natural and not synthetic).
No bad symptoms today after my first dose last night. I thought it would sting or burn or something...nothing. It melted almost before I could get it in (tmi) and just a little bit of leakage and that was it. No bleeding or spotting, cramping or anything
Definately worth the shot! And yes, I think that doctor was taking the cop out. There is nothing written in stone that says our eggs aren't healthy..you're healthy, so am I
so why not our eggs?!
