Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Phil- hahahahaha no routine! Welcome to "new"motherhood :haha: She'll settle soon! Hope your bf'ing is going good...I do really well for 3-4 days initially then Killer Nipples for another 3  then I'm good  tough as nails :haha:

Can't wait to see pics! have you tried www.photobucket.com ? You get IMG codes there to copy works great...

K, I am off with my sleeping babes in one arm, to give out medicine... I need more :coffee: time...and

Ali! Sleep is def a good option, its the infection making you tired :nope: Echinacea--do you have some? Works wonders!!!

Jeeps Coy what a day for you. Your DH sounds like a lucky boy, I hope the antibiotics do the trick. The last thing you need is him ill. Men can be so stubborn about going to the doctors, it must be a universal thing :winkwink:

And YUK YUK YUK  regarding the tan shop man. Oh that made my skin crawl. Are you sure he wasnt in there with her, if you know what I mean?? :haha:.

Thanks for the FF comment, I agree but just find not having a dip so strange. We BD on Tuesday morning and then last night so hopefully bases are covered:thumbup:. I think you can tell by my chart that I've missed quite a few days here and there as well, it's so hard getting back into the habit. If Kyan wakes early I normally jump up to see to him and bang that's the BBT gone for that day :dohh:

Are your arms not already toned from lifting and laying after the kids:winkwink:? I know mine arent too bad from carrying Kyan all over the place, great weight training

Angel- I don't think he was in there w/her...I mean, maybe? Bust as he is mentally disabled/handicapped that would be a HUGE ethical issue IYKWIM in regard to her (she is a caretaker). Creeeeeeppppyyyy :haha:

Yes, carrying kids around is great for tioning! Aeryn is at least 15 pounds now, so  :bodyb: lol...

I know what you mean- I miss so many days bbt'ing just because kids wake me  Just do the best we can is all!

Wow, ladies--don't anybody be drinking Hibiscus tea!! I remember reading it can cause mc's so avoided it while pregnant, but I read this also:

"According to a 1997 “Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin,” the extract of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis flowers causes irregular estrous cycles in mice because of increased production of estrogen and hormonal imbalance. The researchers concluded that the hormonal imbalance may prevent ovulation. Women do not go through estrus, but there remains a possibility that consuming hibiscus flowers can disrupt female cycles and cause difficulty with trying to conceive." Wow! It has massive positive effects for men tho in regard to health benefits, HBP, etc...

That's scary Coy, thank goodness it's not a tea that I'm into.

Hope you are all well ladies, it's lonely on here today as most of you are across the pond, and then when you are all chatting I'm sleeping:sleep:.

Ali... what is Peterborough, Ontario like? To live and work in? There's a possible opportunity coming up. It probably won't be feasible as the job is going back to an industry I'm not sure if I want to be in (Engineering/Construction) and they may not think I'm suitable but there's no harm looking into it as I havent been able to make any progress in other directions about relocating to Canada. I've an initial interview here in Ireland on the 4th March.

Peterborough is a smallish town.. maybe 40K? It is a little over an hour from Toronto, so you can easily get down to Toronto if you want to go to a big city for shopping. Peterborough does have shopping so its not like you'll have to go there for groceries or anything, just maybe if you want to buy some furniture or a TV. Peterborough is also set among a bunch of lakes and is very beautiful country. There is a college there as well, so I think you'd find it has lots to offer. I would think the cost of living there would be relatively low. I actually went to Sir Sanford Flemming College (the one that is in Peterborough), but I went to the smaller campus in nearby Lindsay. I lived in a little town in between the 2 called Omeemee which is where Niel Young is from! :haha: I think it would be a great place for you to consider! It wouldn't be too big of a city to be overwhelming, but you'd have access to the big city. Peterborough would have lots of lovely side roads to wander the countryside and lake to swim and paddle in as well as hiking trails and such. Personally I really liked living in that area.

Off to see my FS!

Ali- off to see your FS at 0730 my time (MST) so...we are 2 hours later...'Sup? What's "the word"?

Heheh...I am ina good mood so far but hey-that could change :haha: Babydoll is asleep behind me, dd's are eating their late breakfast, dh is trying to recover from a miserable night and me...:coffee: OMG I'm addicted :coffee: lol!

Has anyone had the mumps? What does it start out like (symptoms)?

Ah, trying not to stress over dh ...doctor gave us a list of sign to beware of--if any of them become apparent we have rush to ER :nope: scary...Just signs like fever, swelling near th eglands, lack of response to antibiotic, etc.

:argh:

Reminds me...my grey is showing. I better color myhair again :haha:

Back from the FS office, so my lining went from 2.6 to 7.7 and its a triple line. So that looks good, the FS is pleased. Although I'm a little surprised? It is supposed to be between 9-14mm in thickness at transfer which is still 13 days from now. I hope it doesn't do what it did last cycle and get to be 19mm thick! ARGH :argh: At least it is a triple line, that means it is conducive to implantation or so they say.

I've never had the mumps, I think I was vaccinated against them? MMR - measles, mumps and rubella. That was the vaccine I had when I was a kid. I know this because when I went for my Green Card they required me to get documentation of all the shots I had as a kid! I'm like.. MOM? Can you help please? I mean seriously? What adult knows what vaccines they had as children? :haha:

Yes, I think that the glands swell so much that you can't eat or swallow and that can be really bad! So watch your kids like a hawk! Good thing the hospital is across the street!

I know, the dd's have this crazy throat issue- they'll be fine, then get a low grade fever and tiny white streaks ont he back of the throat and/or tonsils. Then the tonsils swell up the size of a damned cadillac :nope: Then they say the throat is no longer sore, so no rawness to speak of. Antiobiotics knock it down but not out! aargh! Ah, anyways...Yes, def would need a mom's help on the meds you were given :) Your mom seems very dedicated to you, I think that's awesome!

Yay on the great lining! You should be set tog o then. But we are looking at a March ET? Sorry, I know yuo've told me before but my brain is on hiatus lately  lol

Jess! Hi lady, keep us posted on how you are, we worry about you! :hugs:

Angel- :hi: Wow, move to Canada? HUGE step!!

Terri- hello lady! How are you feeling today?

Babywhisperer- :hi:

Sam- where are you?

All you wonderful ladies- :hi: :bunny:

Yes, my Mom is literally the best Mom on the planet. She has invested so much in me and my brother it is unimaginable. She says that she loves us more because we were adopted and she didn't think she would ever have kids (my dad was unable to have kids due to low sperm count). So she was extra super excited when we were brought into her life. I don't know, I think she would be super regardless of where we came from. I am very lucky to have a woman that is so very supportive of all that I do, emotionally, spiritually, financially, physically. You name it she is there. I hope I get the chance to be as good a parent as my Mom is to me.

Coy - I know your Mom hasn't been a role model to you, nor has she been overly supportive (in fact it sounds like she has been down right horrible). I will say that from all that I have seen you could easily win Mom of the year. You are amazing, and I hope that you know that you are going above and beyond for you 3 girls (and DH too). So when you are stressed out, or totally exhausted at the end of the day, remember that it is all worth it. It will help!

AFM - Yes I think my lining is right on track. I posted in the IVF/FET forum and they said it was fine. So I'm relieved! I go back on Monday for my next ultrasound and bloodwork. I think they will be increasing my delestrogen (E2) dose to 0.8 from 0.4. Probably means more side effects. YAY! :nope:

The 2 biopsies are going to be around March 7-10th, and they will be 2 days apart. We won't be doing the actual transfer until about 26-32 days later, so I'd say somewhere around April 5-12th? It will all depend on when I get shortly after the biopsies. Hopefully my body won't delay us!

All you wonderful ladies- :hi: :bunny:

Sam has been posting in the IVF/FET board getting other women's opinions on IVF. I think she has been getting some good advice. It is always nice to hear form women that have or are going through what you are doing. Makes it not as scary IYKWIM?

:hi: Good afternoon everyone!

Just wanted to stop in and share my picture of my +opk from just a few minutes ago. I actually got a + late last night AFTER BF fell asleep. But again this morning, and I forgot to take the picture. So, I did another one so I could get a picture. Overkill? So what!! I just love smiley faces!!
Oh, and just ignore the report under the test. :haha:

And by the way...just an observation...my +opk always seems to come in the evening. I guess that means my surge starts in the evening...right? I have always heard that it is usually a morning thing. But, we all know that every woman is different.

First off.. YAYAYAYA! I hope you guys got some :sex: in the past few days? I think your house will be a rockin' tonight!! :haha:

I read somewhere that LH surges are more apt to show on OPKs later in the day. I can't remember where I read this or why, but that it was more common to get them later in the day. I think others have chosen the 2-6pm range to do their OPKs because of this.

Don't you just love that smiley face? OMG the first one I got I was like a little kid in a candy store! Jumping up and down with excitement. The BF I had at the time was not impressed. Even though he had stated he wanted kids, when I saw his reaction was the exact opposite as mine, it was clear that we were not going to last much longer! :haha: It was about a year or so after that day that I decided to go this alone! While I often wish I had someone to share this adventure with, I am definitely glad it is not him! :haha:

I need to quit doing so much research. It can be down right depressing at times. I just read on a website that it is virtually impossible to get pregnant if you have sex after you get a positive OPK. Well, shoot! Then why am I spending so much money every month on these OPK tests?

I test twice a day and I got a positive last night. Well, I can't BD until tonight. This is exactly how it happened last month and we did not get pregnant. So, we might have missed this month too. This is so frustrating!!

And what about getting the positive OPK Thursday night, Friday morning, and Friday night? What does that mean? This sucks! I just want a baby!! I don't want to do all of this guessing and figuring!!! :dohh:
