Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

I know I have half the chance..but at least I have a chance. The nurse thought it was odd also. There may not be an explanation. When I went in November for my first sono my FS said I had just ovulated from my right ovary. I know it produces eggs because I usually ovulate from the right. I think it has always been the dominant producer and its just tired.

I'm hoping for 15 from my left. I have hope because just 2 days ago it was 2 with very small follies and they grew so nicely so quickly. I am getting excited. The drugs aren't so bad. I went back to my usual weight. I've been watching what I eat and I drink lots of water. I have bloating, but nothing like I thought. Beside some minor bruising in the injection area, I'm okay. I'm going to take the dog for a hike today and just relax :coffee:

Thanks for thinking of me and routing for my follies.:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

I'm back. I'm much happier. Still nothing on my Right ovary, but I now have 7 on the left all ranging from 13 to 16 mm and some small ones they didn't count. The nurses were happy and so was I..at least its something. Hopefully, they will double in the next couple of days. I'll get the heating pad and go back for acupuncture. They will let me know if I go back tomorrow.

I knew it! :yipee: I do find it odd that your other ovary is not producing, but 7 of that size is great! They will typically grow at about 1-2mm a day and you want them to be between 16-22 when you trigger, so I'm guessing you'll trigger Tues or Wed and have ER Thurs or Fri! YAY!

When they do IVF their goal it 15 eggs, so 7 on one side is perfect, as you'd have had around 15 if the other side had kicked in. Wonder why it didn't? You should ask the FS!

Still.. 7 is awesome! :wohoo: so happy for you!

Yeah for progress Sam :happydance:

Coy...I hope things have settled a bit for you:hugs:. Great news about Aeryn's appointment, it makes all the stress worthwhile.

Ali... what are you up to this weekend? You aren't anywhere near where this sink hole happened and that poor guy got sucked down it? Is it really common in Florida, news reports here are saying so but I take it not many happen taking bedrooms and a poor soul in his bed with it:cry:

Have a good weekend folks, I think I'm going to wallow in self-pity this evening as DH is working and get a bottle of wine and a chick flick all to myself :winkwink:. :witch:is on it's unwelcome way :growlmad::cry:, I've had cramps the past day or so, do not have any pregnancy symptoms and when I checked internally this morning there is a small bit of spotting started. I know I really shouldnt be disappointed as it's my first month back and on a NTNP level to keep DH happy but I'm gutted. I just want my bad run of luck to turn and I had hoped it would this month especially as I am redundant from work next Thursday

Sorry ladies I'm just feeling a tad delicate, I'm sure I'll pick up again soon x

Hey Angel!

Yes, it is exciting to see Sams follicles grow! I knew they would do what mine did and pop like that. As I said, they want to get 7-10 follies per ovary, in the hopes of getting 15 mature eggs. That is their goal. If they get too many, you are at rick for OHSS, and that seriously lowers your chance of getting pregnant that cycle. Also if you do get pregnant on an OHSS cycle then you will most likely be hospitalized to drain the excess fluid. I had a mild case that first IVF and it was HORRIBLE. So Sams is in a great spot! She will hopefully get 7+ mature eggs, and be off to the races! So happy for her, YAY!

Angel - so sorry you are feeling a little down :sadangel: a double whammy of AF and becoming redundant. Not a fun combination. :nope: I hope that something comes along to put a smile on your face. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that when one door closes a window opens! Have faith, the answers will come

AFM - No, thank God! I wasn't anywhere near the sink hole. It happened on the west coast, near Tampa, I'm on the east coast. I do have sink hole coverage on my home, but my insurance broker said it was not as common in this area. Apparently it is caused by the water caverns under the state of Florida, as the water in these underground caverns rises and sinks, sometimes the limestone above gives way, bringing the ground with it. Who knew? So I think I'm safe for now!

My plan is to get a few more things done around the house. I am doing laundry, just went through a foot high stack of paperwork, dishes, and general tidying up. Next up is some research on the items I want to buy for the front hall redecoration. I have a 20% off coupon to use at Pier1 and will get the entryway console there, and I found a fun rug online, and also this really cool bench that has a neat cubby below that pulls out to reveal 3 pie shaped shelves to put shoes! I'm sure I haven't described it very well, but here is a link to it: https://www.improvementscatalog.com...storage/230409?categoryId=33884&fromCart=true

I currently have about 20 pairs of shoes at the front door, and this little bench/caddy will be a perfect addition to my front hall.

After my online purchasing I'm going to return some stuff to Target and WalMart, meet up with a friend to go to CostCo and then hit the grocery store on my way home. Finally I have BUNCO tonight with the girls. Basically a drink/social gathering of girls where we catch up and be silly!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Ladeez!!!!

Great tor ead all your posts,

Sam- can't wait for your ER and ET and all that awesome pre-BFP stuff! Can't wait :hugs:

Ali- glad you were not near the sink whole, crazy FL!

Angel- glad to see you posting your posts always make me smile :hugs:

AFM- meh. :haha:

Hello Ladies! :hi:

Got back from Barbados just after midnight so didn't get home till 2 am this morning. I was just catching up on your posts! I have missed alot.

Samsfan how exciting to read all about your stimming and your follies are doing awesome! :happydance:

Ali your treatments sound so high tech. I agree with the others that the doctor should let you go natural. I so can't wait untill they transfer your :cold:

Angel Sorry to hear that :af: is on her way. :hugs: I do the same as you, watch tear-kerker romantic movies.

Coy How is your daughter feeling? I have to read back some more pages to see what has been going on!

AFM- I went to my doctor in Barbados on 23rd Feb. Unlike the doctor I went to here she asked me what I would like to have tested. Beta was 667, Progesterone 62. She said that in her opinion for 5 weeks 2 days those numbers looked good. She also said due date was October 24th our :wedding: anniversary. She said pray it's not that exact date, I guess she meant that our anniversary will be overshadowed by their birthday :haha:. I tried to relax on the trip but still felt very nervous. Other than feeling tired and waking to pee a couple times a night, I have been having restless leg (though it seems to be only the foot) Feels like crawling in the veins in my foot and wakes me at 3:30 am every morning and I have to walk around. Apparently baby doesn't like it when I lay down longer than 5 hours :nope:

Hey Coy! I was just saying I haven't seen you on here in a while! :( How's the weather? cut wood?

Ali- took your advice, I'm sitting with a heating pad on my follies... We shall see tomorrow if the hiking, massage, heating pad and oh the drugs did anything for my follies. I'll report tomorrow.

Chantal- WE have wanted to hear about you. So exciting! I'm so happy for you! Yeah 5 weeks and looking good. Hope you got relaxation and not too much sun Are you excited? Has it set in yet? Welcome back, you were missed. :flower:

Thanks Sam. I missed you all too! I wore a sunhat and stayed under a tree in the shade when I wasn't swimming. Dh got sunburnt but he always does as he has Irish skin. My parents were very excited by our news. My mother-in-law met us in Barbados as she was on a cruise and dh showed her a photo of a digital pregnancy test that said pregnant and she was so emotional. It was awesome :) I am 6 weeks 2 days today and no morning sickness yet.

Awesome news. btw my hubbies birthday is October 24th... so its an great birth date. Sounds like its been wonderful!

I read that restless leg in pregnancy is a potassium deficiency. Pistachios have alot more potassium than bananas so I have been eating alot of those hoping it will help. Now I need to be patient and wait for my appointment with high risk OBGYN on the 18th March and ultrasound. She did email and ask if I wanted to have a viability ultrasound a week earlier but then they might not repeat the ultrasound at 8 weeks so I think I will leave it as is since they might not detect a heartbeat at 7 weeks and I think the little chia baby is a little behind. (instead of poppy seed I have been calling it chia baby)

Sam when is your ER?

Chantal- Great pic. I don't know when my ER is yet. They will call me later for an update.

So today one of my follies is at 20mm..so she said it may be soon based on blood work. Such stress because I cleared my calendar for the end of the week and next week. What a disaster. No new follies that this sonographer could tell. I hate that some give you better information than others. She really couldn't tell me much today and my nurse wasn't at work. My blood pressure was high for the first time in my life 135 over 80. Maybe I'm not made for this.:nope:

Sam when is your ER?

WOOHOO! Chantal! Lovely to hear from you, and even more exciting to hear that you were able to get in to see a Dr in Barbados and that everything is perfect! :yipee: :headspin: OMG so glad you are back, we all missed you so much. I hope you had a wonderful trip. Oct 24 is a great due date, my brother is the 25th, and I'm the 8th. So there are 2 important birthdays to me in that month.

Sams - sounds like your ER will be soon, did she say what the smaller follicles were? You had some that were 13-16 last time? We need those 13's to grow to at least 16! Maybe your trigger will be tomorrow for ER Wednesday? So are they going to call you today to tell you if you are triggering tonight? Was that an option? As for your BP, mine is often high in the Dr's office, but is just fine at home. Maybe you were all worked up with stress? They call it the white coat syndrome. If you truly have high BP during your pregnancy, there is a BP drug that starts with A that can be taken to help that. High BP is quite common during pregnancy.

Coy - we miss you! You need to come back!!

AFM - its :cold: here in FL today. Any residual heat my house had is GONE :argh: I've had the heat on but it isn't helping much. It is still :cold: inside and out! I might go up and climb back into bed for a bit, but at the same time I have so much to do today! ARGH, I just want to sleep!

Sam I know it is easier said than done but try to relax. I was a bundle of nerves for my first ivf cycle and when it was over I realized that I worried about nothing. Your follies will catch up and by what you have said so far I think you will have a good number of eggs when it is time for retrieval. I know it is overwhelming right now but once you have your ET you will be so happy to have your little embryos in your uterus. My acupuncturist refers to it as "the Palace" and that always made me smile.

I pulled out my reflexology book and realize now the jumping nerve in my foot isn't restless leg like dh thought. The area corresponds in my right foot to the left kidney and bladder which makes sense. I have passed 2 kidney stones from my left kidney. One during the summer of 2009 and the second, the same month I got my bfp Jan 2010. I am going to ask that my kidneys be checked and will also make an appoint to see the acupuncturist this friday. Maybe the needles will help with the pressure points in my foot.

I am getting ready to go to church soon and then grocery shopping since the fridge is very empty. Wishing you lovely ladies a wonderful Sunday!

Hello Ali! Our connecting flight was in Miami and I found it cold there for Florida! It was not much colder here. Compared to when we left on the 18th Feb it was 18 F at 4 in the morning

Hello Philomena :) Saw you online earlier. How is your beautiful baby girl?

Ladies I just got a pop up message saying that my pc has a virus and needs to be cleaned. Dh showed me the redirected address. Probably a hacker. If you see it close the page! I use firefox so will switch to Google chrome now.

Hello ladies,

Just wondering if anyone has an answer for me I've been testing OPK for about a yr and most the time I get a Smiley on CD10!!! Is this normal or does it mean I have a short ovulation window??
Also do any of u ladies use Herbal supplements like the Vitex or Red Rasberry Leaves??
Are they worth a try or not??
Thanks For the Help!!!

Coy- Sounds like you'll be fine.. The acupunturist is always helpful. Get your kidneys checked and drink lots of water.

Ali- The smaller ones are 11mm. They aren't counting them because they don't think hey will make it. My 13's have moved up to 16 and 17. They are going to call me later. I will post the outcome. I think I'll probably trigger tomorrow night. I'm really hoping for Tuesday night, but we take what we have. I hope the 20 mm one holds steady and lets the others catch up. It ran away from 16 mm to 20 in one day. It is starting to get uncomfortable. I just had acupuncture. My acupuncturist took my bp and its back to 108/70, so it was the white coat syndrome. It may have been that I saw someone from work and was in hiding and stressed.

Hi ladies!

Chantal- awesome to have you back! :hugs: And that is such great news from your doc in Barbados! Hm...expect to get  any day now :haha: lol! It's okay, it fades and Tums helps  BTW- October 24th is an AWESOME due date --that's when my little Aeryn was born :cloud9:

Ah, I am on for agfew minutes ladies, I missed you all. It has been a ery stressful few days and more stress ahead, healthi ssues and such with everyone etc. Nuts. Anyway we are trying some elderberry with Kat to see if it helps? T's tonsils look like a war zone :nope: and dh is not getting better as fast as we would like, I hope this round of meds works or doc will make him go to hospital :nope:

Me....I have been keeping up on school and getting NO SLEEP ATA LL :growlmad: I have resigned myself to it and keep my kitchen fully stocked with sugary things to keep me awake :haha: JK, I double up on my protein drink, that seems to help.

I weighed at the doc office (clothes ON of course) and it said 119 so I am guessing birthday suit style :haha: I'd be about 117-118? I am happy with that for now :) Will keep working on it.

Today is my dh birthday- instead of a cake we got his favorite- coconut creme pie :haha: mmmmmm ...

Coy- Looking good. and you have some will power! Try to get some sleep.
Maybe just getting rid of the tonsils will save a lot of heartache in the long run. Praying that she gets a quick recovery...

Happy birthday to your DH!:cake::cake::cake:
