Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

:nope: thanks
They didn't seem to enthusiastic about my growth. (nonexistent) I'm wondering what else I could do to stimulate?

Well doing the lupron flare protocol might help, upping your doses, doing acupuncture 2-3 times a week during stims, taking fertility supplements (royal jelly, maca root, coq10, tapioca, aspirin) heating pad, can all help!

I guess just wait and see how things go on Sat? If you don't get more follicles developing, did your RE mention canceling or switching to IUI?

I'm so sorry Sam! Lets just hope that your a late bloomer and they all magically appear on Sat!

Twiggers... good luck and enjoy :sex: :winkwink:

Ali.... I'm sure this is a global phrase by our pervy opposite gender - "GET THE BOOBS OUT!!!!!!":winkwink::winkwink: I'm a bit lost between your posts and Sam's but I am definitely learning:wacko:. And sorry but as I was MIA for a while, what are they hoping to gain from this trail? What protocol works best for you to maximise chances?

Sam... I'm nearly sure Ali was a late bloomer in one of her treatments (Ali?). Regarding the hill walking, just don't go too mad. The advice for newly pregnant ladies is not to take up any intense activity that you don't usually do as it may put the body under undue stress, I would reckon the same advice applies for ladies going through assisted conception treatment as well. By all means power walk and go gentle hill walking, just no mad mountains. You will know your current level of fitness so work on increasing this gently x

Coy... how are you today? I second you regarding the bigger boobs, when I lose or put on weight the first thing affected is my boobs:growlmad:. Pregnancy is fantastic for them :haha:, I so enjoyed wearing strappy tops then, I actually had a cleavage to show off:thumbup:.

Chantal... Yes hurry up and get back on, we're all dying to hear about Barbados and hoping that you and bean are blooming :flower:

AFM... nothing new here ladies, I was going to :test: tomorrow at 11DPO but I don't think I'm going to bother. AF normally arrives between 12-14DPO so if it hasnt arrived by Monday I'll test then (14DPO). I really don't feel pregnant at all. I haven't been sleeping all week, I'm tossing and turning every night adn lying awake after 2-3 hours sleep. I do feel nauseous, tired and have tingly boobs but I think it's just a combination of my cycle, excitement and anxiety about finishing work next week:shrug:

WAKE UP EVERYBODY I'M CHATTY :winkwink::winkwink:

Twiggers - GL with the :sex: I hope you catch that egg!

Angel - sorry I was sleeping  when you posted :haha: Maybe you are going to get that BFP? Maybe? I hope you are doing lots of Zen like things to keep yourself calm, but I can totally understand being a little anxious at the moment. You are definitely in a period of transition. Has your DH made any more progress towards jumping on the TTC bandwagon? Or are you still in the NTNP realm? It is a tough call, I see his perspective, but I also see yours and your FS's. Here is to hoping that a new job comes along soon, and with it a sticky baby! :haha::thumbup:

Sam - YES, Angel is right I did have late bloomers, one day I had about 7 on each ovary and 3 days later I had closer to 12-15 on each! So there is hope! I used my heating pad each night for an hour before bed, and that helped make them pop. Also they say aspirin helps increase the blood flow down there, but before you do these things you should probably ask your nurse. I was also thinking about metformin? Have your Dr's suggested putting you on this? It often helps women that are having trouble with ovulating, and it also helps you with your blood sugar.

Coy - how are you doing? Miss you!

AFM - still have giant boobs  Even my friend at work was like whoa, what is going on? LOL. The trial cycle is a biopsy cycle, they are going to take 2 biopsies 2 days apart around CD 19-24 to see where my lining is. Apparently there is such a thing as the implantation window and perhaps mine is really tiny? They can tell from each biopsy if I am pre-window, in the window or post-window, and from that they can determine the length of my window and whether there are any issues with potential implantation. They can also recommend a protocol to improve your chances. I am still a little unclear as to what all we will get from this as to solid options, but it sounds good  So the biopsies will likely be next week.

OH, and I have to tell you I almost started crying  last night. I bought this thing called a lickety stick for my dogs. It is in the shape of a small bottle, it is full of what I would call a chicken gravy, and has a roller ball on the top, so you tip it over and they lick the roller ball and have a yummy treat. Well as I was feeding them last night I couldn't help but feel my maternal instincts kicking in. I felt like I was feeding a baby a bottle! OMG.. yes it was emotional for me. UGH.. the side effects of the estrogen are kicking in big time!

Hello Ladies and Good Morning!!!
I go to the OBGYN on 3/7 and before they try to put me on any Meds, I have a few questions and figured U smart ladies could help! Like I said before I was on meds for back pain for 5+ yrs and Ive been completely med free for over 30days. I personally feel that the meds where causing me fertility issues but I'm kinda Afraid it's my Age! Female issues do run in my Family and that's why I've always takin BC to keep things under control unless TTC!!
Does anyone know if it might be the meds or my Age??
Im sure I should prob just talk to my Dr... But I was wondering if anyone had some insight!!

Sis4us- nope, def not too old! I am a year older than you and got preggo at 37

How are you doing? Sounds like you've been busy! I can't wait to hear from Chantal!!! Where are you? :sadangel:

AFM- ah, what a couple of crappy days! I'll spare you all the details :laugh2: Today seems to be better so far though. I have been busy- I ran and shopped some groceries, diapers, etc. Have to pay bills  lol...I took Aeryn in for her appointment today- she is 24 3/4- 25 inches long  and 14 pounds!! Yay! Growth is perfect  Doc was happy with her responses, etc- she's perfect :smug:

Heheh...I had to laugh- remember the wench who kept coming on to dh when I was pregnant? Telling me how fat I was, bla bla...Anyways, she's looking at me today and blurts out " Have you been working out?!" :haha: lol!

Now I have to go cut wood and figure out what's for dinner. Yesterday was so crappy I didn't cook- I ordered pizza  Bad Coy :smug:

Coy- Sounds like she's growing perfectly! Pizza is always a good splurge. I could never get tired of pizza.

Ali- I don't have a heating pad. If you think it will really work I'll go get one, but I'm always sweating at work and generally sweating. I know..gross :nope: I took baby aspirin which was prescribed to me today. Nobody told me why it was prescribed.?? I had acupuncture yesterday and a massage the day before and a less stressful day today, so I hope tomorrow I have some progress. I intend on getting another massage this weekend so lets see....:happydance: I'm off the coffee and have limited my diet pepsi intae to a sip here and there, when I get a craving.

I intend on relaxing all weekend. With the exception of looking at some work here and there.

I had 7 per ovary but then just a few days later I had closer to 15 per ovary!
I honestly think the heating pad did that. They are fairly inexpensive, so I would recommend it. I use mine during AF a lot, but be careful not to use it after transfer. You'll probably like to have it after the ER though.

So do you have another US in the morning? I hope it goes well!

Yes in the am. Im hoping the acupuncture, walking and massage helped. Will get the heating pad tomorrow. I feel so old. I cant believe I am in this situation.

SAMs.. I'm older! I think! You can do this! If truth be told, my first IVF was a huge wake up call for me. I realized how I had been abusing my body and made a lot of changes to fix it. I've been slacking lately, but am climbing back on that wagon! Think positive and feel strong, conjure up Coy's kick ass attitude and tell your body how its going to work :)

Whatever it takes! Tou can so it!

I'm back. I'm much happier. Still nothing on my Right ovary, but I now have 7 on the left all ranging from 13 to 16 mm and some small ones they didn't count. The nurses were happy and so was I..at least its something. Hopefully, they will double in the next couple of days. I'll get the heating pad and go back for acupuncture. They will let me know if I go back tomorrow.

I knew it! :yipee: I do find it odd that your other ovary is not producing, but 7 of that size is great! They will typically grow at about 1-2mm a day and you want them to be between 16-22 when you trigger, so I'm guessing you'll trigger Tues or Wed and have ER Thurs or Fri! YAY!

When they do IVF their goal it 15 eggs, so 7 on one side is perfect, as you'd have had around 15 if the other side had kicked in. Wonder why it didn't? You should ask the FS!

Still.. 7 is awesome! :wohoo: so happy for you!
