Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

:hi: everyone!

I need some direction. My temp is down, but I am not sure if AF ever really arrived. I had spotting for the last few days but no real flow. I have been working out a bit more, but not enough that my cycle would be affected. ...or at least I didn't think so.

Take a look at my chart and tell me what you think. Do you think perhaps the last few days of spotting was my cycle? Sometimes this is SOOOOOO annoying!! I think I am just going to start my cycle at the temperature drop. It is usually 28 days. (Although last month it was only 26...)

~~Jess

Have you increased you workouts and restricted your diet too? When I was at my fittest af was all kinds of weird, including skipping a month. What's your body fat down to?

I am not sure what my body fat is right now. I am getting ready to compete in less than 6 weeks. But my diet resictions are not real bad yet. They don't get crazy til next week. Hmmmm...maybe it is a diet/workout issue. Argh! This might very well be my last competition. :(

It is really hard to tell? Have you tested :test: I think its possible you are pregnant, or it is possible that you didn't ovulate and are skipping a month. I think you should test just to be sure before you do some severe calorie restrictions next week! You wouldn't want to do that if you were PG :dohh:

Ali...you might be right...I will test tomorrow morning if nothing happens between now and then. I don't want to cause any complications because "I didn't know." :)

Angel- I am excited about your up-coming appointment! Yeah- :bodyb: give that doc the what-for until he gives you progesterone! :hugs:

Hi ladies! :hi: Forgive me, I am so excited I am AFM'ing first!! :haha:

OMG! I'm going to start off with great news today! Here was a predicament dh and I had- we have several vehicles, right? but only one of them was operational, my little 4-seater car, but the brakes are quickly going bad in it and we were concerned what we were going to do once babes is born. We will need a 5 seat vehicle at least. Well, we have a Suburban but a mechanic told us we needed throw out bearings, clutch plate, new clutch and that it had some other issues. Well, we didn't really trust the guy and had no additional finances to take it to another mechanic OR get it fixed. So this morning our adopted "Grandpa" came for a visit and just happened to bring a gentleman we had never met before that is a mechanic. (Grandpa had no knowledge of our predicament btw). Anyway the man asked about our Suburban and dh told him...the guy popped the hood and snorted. Come to find out he is an expert mechanic for these types of rigs and told dh all it needed was oil in the clutch pan- it is apparently a hydraulic clutch and simply sprung a minor leak that- over time- rendered our clutching useless. As it happened dh had the right kind of oil and we filled it up. Didn't cost us a penny and we have our perfect 5 member family vehicle. Phew! Wow! What an amazing blessing!

WOW! That is awesome news, and now you have 2 working vehicles too! That is great :) I agree with babywhisperer, you need to steer clear of him, and let others know too! Hopefully you got this good mechanic's number and can call him when/if you need help in the future!

AF has arrived...I guess she decided to go back to her normal 28 day schedule. Last month she was anxious and came after 26 days...oh well...at least she's here and I can start a new month...:growlmad:

That's a big bummer :hugs: Well it's better to know than be in limbo. FX'd for you that it happens soon for you. I am so impatient , I feel like I'm living in 2 week intervals. Now you can restrict your diet with a clear mind. Keep me informed on your training...you're motivating me! :hugs:

Nuts! Stupid :witch: anyways! Well, I agree with Babywhisperer- better to know that be left wondering. And yeah- now you can work out and restrict to your hearts contentment. But, um, not before some chocolate...right?

AFM- I am suddenly starving! Toast and yogurt hasn't carried me very far. Well, 8 hours I guess isn't too bad. Now I am prowling the kitchen trying to decide if I want to be bad...or good. Or bad. :haha:

Bad wins for me...cheddar bunnies, mmm. Btw on my way home tonight I walked straight into a subway turnstile without swiping my metro card, and I didn't even have it out! I had my security card from my office in my hand! Hello McFly!!!!

AWW.. sorry that AF arrived, but at least now you know and as BabyWhisperer and Coy have said.. now you can compete and not worry about the calorie restrictions!! I think a little chocolate ice cream might be in order first though!! :icecream:

I'm starving too! I think I will make tacos tonight for dinner. Yummy!

If only I had cheddar bunnies! I do not, alas, it will be tacos tonight :)

That is really funny about having the wrong card out to get onto the subway, sounds like you already have baby-memory :haha:

AFM.. Another crazy afternoon in my life!

Worked 11 hours today, had my Dr's appt to do my repeat pap. He said my cervix looked great. I had told him that I'd had dilation done last week (Friday) and he said it looks awesome! LOL.. How great can a cervix look :haha: He said that it will be easier to get the cells this time, and that we shouldn't have any issues with a cell-less test this time. YAY!

I also asked him what the protocol was for me if I do get pregnant. Where does he have privileges to deliver babies? He said either Good Samaritan for low risk deliveries, and St. Mary's Medical Center for high risk. He said that it really depends on how things progress. If all goes well, then I can deliver at Good Sam, but if things turn ugly, I'll have to go to St. Mary's. Both have a minimum of a level 2 NICU, and St. Mary's has a level 3. Also, they aren't very close! One is 15-20 mins and the other is 20-30 mins! EEK!

Off to do the US and bloodwork tomorrow morning, to see how I'm progressing. If my cramps and pains are any indication, we are doing just fine! :haha:  OUCH!

Did mention I have jalapeno hummus too? It's nice and spicey!! Idk if it's baby memory as much as spaztastic! Wth! I have never done that before. I'm in la la land today.

Lol at Babywhisperer--def sounds like Baby Brain! :haha: I tried to brush my teeth with dishsoap again :nope: Yuk. Mmmm cheddar bunnies sounds awesome!

Ali- you have made me want tacos! I don't have the fixin's here and managed to forget to eat dinner again as I was busy so I am down to either a can of soup or one of the girls hot pockets... Hm...

Ouch, not the greatest options. What about a bacon sandwich? :haha:

They kind of turned into burritos because I only had large flour tortillas. I loaded them with peppers and onions to get my veggies, and garlic too! LOL. Whenever I make anything like tacos, or spaghetti sauce, or chili, etc I always load it with tons of veggies. That way I know I'm getting some good stuff along with the meat. Sneaky I am! They were good with a little sharp cheddar sprinkled on top! YUM! I even have leftovers for tomorrow. It is so nice to come home and have a meal already made, just have to heat it up!

My ovaries feel like they are going to burst out of my body, and my left side/hip is really really sore (so sore I had to take my pants off, the rubbing of my underwear/pants on my hip was really painful). I think I will have to pop a percocet if I am going to get some sleep tonight :( I was hoping that I would be OK without it, but this pain is pretty fierce.

I know huh? Bad options...I could dig the stuff out to make a big salad and there might be some leftover chicken in there. I still haven't eaten, I had to put girls to bed after their nightly cuddle with papa :hugs: then I had to finish up a school assignment . Am trying to think of something healthy.....Not a huge fan of hot pockets and am trying hard to stear clear of awesome, delicious, flavor packed bacon :cloud9: LOL! I only bought hot pockets because my deposition is day after tomorrow and if I cook ahead of time it gets eaten...so if it's in the freezer they leave it alone until I say it's ok to eat it :haha: Then dh won't have to cook. Last night he was telling the girls a story about cooking scrambled eggs for his brothers when he was little and man of the house and my 7 year old drops her mouth open and exclaims in disbelief--"Papa! YOU know how to cook eggs?" LMAO! Serves him right :)

Ouch, the ovaries sound killer- is it normal accordnig to your doc to be this painful? I mean, are you like forming hundreds of massive little eggs int here?:haha: What are these meds doin' to you woman? LOL! Nothing to worry about I am sure, just take the percocet and try to rest. Just another "woman thing" to deal with, right?

Mmmm tacos! We used to Taco Tuesdays in my house, but hubbs has been working until 1am every night this week. He's prepping for depositions too! I think he's done though so I might cook something nice for tonight.

Ali, you are quite resilient! Ovary pain makes me double over...and here you are cooking a healthy meal like Rachel Ray! Hoping everything goes well for your procedure!

Coy, you need to eat! You take care of so many people, someone needs to take the reigns once in a while and cook for you...even if it is scrambled eggs! Btwm bacon is its own food group in our house...hubbs lives for it.

Afm, I didn't walk into a turnstile like a total spaz this morning, but I'm feeling doubtful this is my month. I am cd23, af is due the 12th. If I got my darker line on my opk on cd 11 and the morning of 12, would I be 11dpo or earlier like 8 or 9? I'm confused. Anyway, I have no implantation symptoms. Cm is on the dry side. bbs are bigger, heavy and veins are more prominent, but I've been overdosing on salt as I do before af. I guess I just sit and :coffee: while I wait for af to show up.

At this point I think pain is relative. Women are resilient and I think your body just steps up and figures out a way to handle it. You know? So I think you are 11DPO today, from what you said above. You could be 12DPO, it really depends on when you O'd, so if you O'd on CD12, you are 11DPO today (I think).

Hey Ladies! :hi:

So I just got to the office after my CD10 scan. My ovaries are definitely doing something.. I have a total of 30 follicles! OMG! :wohoo: It went from 11 to 30 in 2 days. Yikes! There are tons around the 7-10mm range. It is odd that I have 20 follicles on the left and 10 on the right. My right ovary did have a giant cyst on it years ago, and it had to be operated on. I wonder if that is why my right isn't doing as well?

I also got my CD3 bloodwork back. My AMH has dropped to 3.87 from over 5 in May. My FSH and LH were both 5 and my e2 was 42. He said I have great numbers, and explained that the lower AMH is actually a better number than the one in May, but I don't have issues with ovarian reserve. YAY! :yahoo:

So now we wait for the afternoon call to let me know what my bloodwork showed, and what my injection regimen will be until I see them tomorrow. Dr. Denker mentioned that I'll be a regular in their office for the next few days.:wacko:

Oh, and on a side note, I don't have HIV or Hepatitis or Chlamidia, and I am not a Cystic Fibrosis carrier either. The only test left outstanding is the PAP I had done yesterday.

I am on a high right now.. things look like they are coming together nicely

How are you all doing today?
