Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Yes nap! Nap for me too! I could definitely use one!

Did you guys think my sperm donor was good looking? Nobody commented :sadangel: Or maybe it didn't post properly?

I am definitely going to be picking someone else, I just wish this guy had worked? I'm going to enlist my Mom on the search, that should be funny. We can do that in-between reading the Grey trilogy!

Definitely 2 things I never expected to do with my Mother! :haha:

BabyWhisperer - I know now sad and annoying and frustrating and insane the 2WW is, actually I'm pretty sure everyone on this thread does! There is no easy way to go through it, I feel much like you, and thought about the sedation idea too. Can't we just take a long nap and wake up when its all done? HAHAHAHA, and we wake up POAS and its a :bfp: That would be awesome. Can you and your DH go out and do something fun tonight to get your mind off of everything? That is often the best medicine. Or go work out? Or go do some retail therapy with a GF? Anything to take your mind off the 2WW!!!

Oh, Ali, you make me laugh! Yep, he was good looking :haha: In almost of an Australian way iykwim? Sort of long and lean...Course I am biased toward my dh and prefer a real hard looking guy you know? Every woman likes something else...My cousin drove me nuts she was always dating these delicate men...you know, long slender pale soft hands, pale soft skin, super skinny, non-threatening...I've always liked bad-a$$ men you know? :haha: I am seriously infatuated with my dh  lol! My very own Die Hard man

And I can just imagine doing this with your mom! :haha: Um, ya might need to loosen up a bit first, get her tipsy so you can mold her mind...LOL!?? :)

The donor was good looking, but not my type. Everyone is attracted to different things. He looked like he had nice eyes though! Nice eyes are key!

This head cold is making me lay low. I'm obsessing, I know. I'm in limbo with this job offer as we are in contract negotiations and I'm afraid to jinx it. I should know more tomorrow and hopefully sign it. Being in limbo for the job and waiting to see if af comes is driving me batty. :headspin:

I should be grateful tough. I have a job, a wonderful husband who adores me, and I'm healthier than I've been in years...minus the head cold :dohh: I am just not good with not knowing. One of my biggest pet peeves...when someone says "I have to talk to you about something, but I can't now". Ummm, so you wanna die is what you're saying?

Btw on our news right now, a small school bus lost control and crashed into a house. A house???? What do you tell those parents?

LOL! This isn't the "look" that I would go for when looking for a BF or DH! I was trying to pick someone that had the same coloring as me. I'm with you totally! Tall dark and handsome!!! ALL THE WAY! Rugged, heck yes! I just wanted someone that complimented my coloring and my body type for procreation purposes. Then the child would have a greater chance of looking like me. If I picked a tall dark and handsome man as a sperm donor, then the child probably wouldn't look much like me as fair hair and green eyes are recessive genes. My children would more than likely take after the sperm donor and not me. If he were my DH, I wouldn't care if the children looked like him that would be awesome! But since the sperm donor won't be in our lives, I would prefer the child to look more like me. Does that make sense?

Makes absolute sense! Yep--I have (originally) reddish brown lightish hair, very arrow straight, ligth grey eyes, and pale skin...both my dd's have very curly hair, olive and golden skin, and brown eyes! Course dh is very dark, black eyes, and curly hair  Def prevails genetically! The dd's always seem to get his nose and eyes but my ears ? Go figure!

Well, we leave for our doctor's appointment in about half hour...I have changed into a long skirt and heavy tights as it is cold and windy but I do NOT like taking my pants off at a male doc's clinic! I must be seriously old fashioned...Anyway I am hoping we will see some change in my cervix that is positive. I don't want to sit at 2 cm for weeks past my edd! That's what Kat did to me :sadangel: lol! She made us wait like 10 days- 2 weeks after edd before coming in 29 minutes! Let's hope for at least 3-4 cm dilated  that'd be awesome and like 99% effaced! :haha:

Is this month a blue moon? lol

I think you just missed the full moon! It was on 9/30, so no :( we won't see 2 in the month of October, we almost did! I hope you don't wait for the next full moon, dear Lord that would be bad. Hurry up babes!!!

I ho all goes well at your appt. Here is hoping for 3-4 cm dilated!!!

Update ladies...Not a whole huge lot to tell -- still about 2.5-3 cm dilated and the same effacement--80-85%. BUT doc said she has moved down the 5 cm and is now at 0--so just right at the vaginal edge :happydance: She is now technically engaged so doc told us when she comes she will prob come very fast! Yay! He did send us for an U/S to measure size and fluid. Fluid is exellent at 14 where 7 would be decision time...Babes is only measuring at 35 weeks though instead of 38 but the tech said that is based on average stat size so what he is assuming is she'll be int he full-grown-baby 5 pound area just like T and Kat--so good news too as I don't want to try squeezing out an 8-9 pounder! :haha: So all in all ...we are looking at any time :coffee: Funny though as I have had a couple contractions the tech said that news spread through the hospital like wldfire and they are all on high alert in case I go into labor :haha: They know it'll be fast  I hope!

All great news and very very exciting!! Any hour now I guess? How are you feeling? That's funny that they are on high alert. They are probably hoping that they will be there when it happens! Woohoo come one out already! We are dying to meet you!!! :happydance:

Sounds like you are just about there! YAY! How far away is the hospital? I ask because if she comes quickly you need to have time to get there!
Can't wait to meet her as well!

Ali and BabyWhisperer- the hospital is only a block away  Just have to drive through one stop-light and it's right there- and the stop light is at the corner of oour street, so perfect :) Much better thn the 120 miles drive we made when I was in labor with T! That is one reason we chose to stay locally with this one.

I feel okay...babes feels awfully tight in there, very cramped. And so strange- when doc inserted his (gloved) fingers to check the cervix he could actually feel babes head! How the heck is that possible? Anyway, I guess it surprises me that she is so low and close. He kept warning me it would probably be fast and that effacement and dilation can change drastically in a matter of minutes-hours, etc. So I guess we just wait for that mystical moment in time when the body says "OK". :growlmad: lol!

Ok, minor update on other life stresses...

I'ts cold out. I'm not caring too much for the shivers, so I am going to bring some wood in for the fireplace tonight  It's not THAT cold but they are saying we may freeze so- there goes my flower garden :haha:

My court case. We have now agreed to settle. Not sure if all ya'll :) are up to speed on it but in a nutshell I got fired for being prego with Kat and have embroiled in a 3-year long law suit  Anyway we are not getting a huge settlement, kind of like getting a dollar when you expected a thousand but the way we figure it- it will be over and we'll be in a better place than before, at least not have to worry so much about minor purchases and things for the dd's and after babes is born, etc. And I have to trust in God- I can't keep asking Him to help me and keep saying no to money :haha:

Hm, what else? Everyone ate early and no-one is hungry so I won;t have to stress over making dinner  It's the little things in life  lol!

Re: school. I started my new college course yesterday-- o my gosh I ams o glad I chose to take my electives now! They are so much easier than my in-depth criminology stuff...not as interesting but I'll be able to take care of the dd's and new babes and still keep up. In fact, where it took me all week to crank out my asignments on my last course and stressed over them alot I started yesterday and got 2/3 of my week finished...tonight I should have my lastassignment finished for the week and it's not due untilnext Monday :happydance: So I can get ahead and save my assignments...that way when babes is born I won't fall behind

I hope you have closure by settling. Sometimes the financial gain is not worth the emotional hell these things can be. I knew there was a class action for that exact reason at the last major bank I worked for. It's very hard to lead the charge as just one woman. No one should have to go through that, it feels like a violation.

Afm I'm up to my eyeballs in stressful contract negotiations. I hope it all works out and they agree to the changes so I can move forward. There are a lot of moving parts to this deal so I am crossing my fingers as it will be an amazing opportunity for me and dh. I feel like poo and I know this head cold is a direct result from the stress I've been under as it has wrecked my sleep for 2 weeks.

I'm hoping my temps stay where they should be and that af stays away! Thanks for all of your support, advice and encouragement!

Glad the hospital is right around the corner! That makes me happy! Knowing you will make it there in time! YAY!

Congrats on settling and getting a little $$ to keep the wolves at bay!

Baby.. yikes! Go get more acupuncture! You sound totally stressed out! No fun. I hope you get the changes you want in the contract and that it all goes well! Then you can relax, get better and focus on baby making!

AFM.. getting into bed, feel terrible, stomach upset, been running to the loo all night long :( plus I have that clammy feeling like I'm feverish. GRRR.
Haven't packed and I'm not ready to leave yet. Setting the alarm for 5am so I can finish packing and get everything finished.

Then tomorrow I head to the office in thd morning and head to the airport around noon. I probably won't get to my destination until after 9pm and that is if everything is on schedule! Long day! I just hope I don't have the flu!

Oh no not you too! I hope you fell better before your flight. I have acupuncture on Friday! I hope you have a safe flight, and a well deserved trip home. I hope you check in while you're away

Off to bed, long stressful day tomorrow.

Ali- I thought you were packed...well I'd say forget it, just buy all new stuff in Canada! :haha: LOL! Just make your flight girl and catch up on your  en route!

Baby- tahnks! Yes, it is a tough dang road, I didn't enjoy the lawsuit but I know I was in the right. Didn't get what I wanted (size wise) but life doesn't always offer it that way. And often when we think we are getting a small bargai it ends up being a great deal! Hope your cold gets better, stress doesn't help things. I am trying to understand your job though- is it like a union type thing or...? I know you mentioned contract, etc, and I am assuming for job improvement. Anyway- I hope it works out for you! :hugs: Go get some
