Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

The witch arrived...ugh. On to charting...Thanks for all of your help and encouragement. Maybe this month:)

Temp dropped from 98.94 to 98.43 and I'm spotting. This is af and now I know my LP is 13 days. Does anyone know when you start taking mucinex? Is it cd1 or after af is done?

I'm a little sad, but I'm learning a lot by charting and I am sort of thankful to not be starting my new job pregnant. I know the firm wouldn't appreciate that right away. I told dh we need to start smep and that we need to be proactive in bding...meaning no more coming home drunk after golf.

Talk more later, cuddling with dh.

So sorry! Have never heard of the mucinex thing?? Glad to learn some new tips!! So I'm definitely much more upset this month than I have been in awhile. Even after my miscarrige last May, I was sad but thought well at least I know I can get preg and it will happen soon. Never thought I would still not be pregnant 5 months later!

Then, just went on FB and saw that one of my friends in preg with #4! The same girl who after she had number 3 last year told me to wait a year to try b/c I "needed to work on my daughter's character"~my daughter was not even 2 at the time. Thankfully I did not listen to her and started trying right away. But man, it just doesn't seem fair. Feel like crying but dh is sitting next to me and I don't want him to know I'm upset. My #3 is in heaven. Spent a lot of time praying about it at church this morning. Gotta give it to the Lord.

Alin- after 12 months of trying and 23 ntnp I would def visit the doc and see if maybe it is a hormone issue or maybe not ovulating? I know opk's tell when we get our LH surge but that does not always mean that an egg releases. I am wondering if maybe that is an issue and the clomid may once again prove beneficial?

BabyDust- Nuts for AF showing up :growlmad: Yes, charting seems to help a huge amount, if nothing else it helps to pinpoint our cycles a bit better.
I understand completely about the being sad. When I had mc and d'n'c in November 2011 I was so heartbroken and it seemed everywhere I looked were ladies either prego or with babies. Chin up, you'll get your bfp soon! Did doc give a reason for the mc? How far along were you? I suspected in my case as baby died at about 8-9 weeks then mc'd at 12 weeks that maybe my corpus luteum faded too early and my body simply didn't produce enough progesterone to sustain the pregnancy untilt he placenta took over at 12-13 weeks. So this time around doc put me on progesterone vaginal suppositories until 12 weeks. I am so glad I did thought he caus eof the initial mc was undetermined :( Have you considered soemthing along these lines? If so it is recommended that you get started as soon as you get your bfp
BabyWhisperer- are you sure it's AF and not IB? Does this seem early to you as far as your cycle or does it seem about right? As far as the mucinex (guiffenessin) (sp)I think you start taking it like the last day of AF, but I can't see where it would hurt to take it a day or so early  The whole point is to thin secretions to improve cm for helping those swimmers along! :) There is a generic pill that you can take that lasts 12 hours, so morning and night I guess but also a liquid Robitussin form...

FirstTry- yay! So glad to hear from ya lady! :happydance: You are in for an IUI today? :headspin: I have my fx'd!!!

Ali- hey you vacationer! :haha: Hope you are getting some fun times in this trip :hugs: You deserve it!

Jess- where are you? :sadangel: We have all been wondering about you lady!

Terri- How are you?

AFM- I am tired again  Guess it goes with the territory..Miserable at night as when I sleep on my sides my hips are painful. This spreading thing I know is beneficial but MAN does it have to be so uncomfortable? :growlmad: LOL! I ended up trying to sleep on my knees and elbows :nope: lol Today I am going to try walking again to jug her down. I bet she's dropped even more though, probably at station +1 or something by now ....

No it's af alright and 4 weeks to the day of my last.

How's the walking making you feel? Do you have pain? I hope you get relief soon.

No, no real pain to speak of really, just discomfort. Imagine a weight on your cervix pressing it down into your vagina and then walking that way  lol!- just tons of pressure and sometimes shooting pains in the cervical area, but not often. My hips are what's been bothering me the most. It is recommmended that you sleep on your side, specifically your left side, when you are pregnant and it gets uncomfortable as heck when your hips start to spread! The hormones coursing through my system right now are causing my muscles and ligaments to relax so that I can spread open for babes to come down, all the while she is shoving down too...Anyway it's funny, when I wake up in the morning and slowly roll out of bed I can hardly stand straight! And I have to waddle that way until I can get my hips worked around right  My poor dh...quite the runway model I am right now, lol! :haha:

Btw- at least you know your cycle is dead on and it's a very good cycle as far as I am aware, not too long or short. Mine were 28 days also...

Coy, do you have a recliner? When I was preggo with the twins, I slept in the recliner until I went into the hospital for 5 weeks before I had them, and then with the hospital bed I could get the same effect of getting the pressure off my hips.

:hi: Hello everyone!

I am so sorry that I have been MIA. Yes, my thesis has kidnapped me!! I have managed to sneak away from it for a few moments, so I thought I would give ya'll an update.
My thesis update - I am making my deadlines!!
My TTC update - I had a temp spike this morning as if I ovulated. :saywhat: Hmmm...not sure what that is all about. I took my temp later than normal, but I do that every weekend. Maybe when I thought I was just spotting at the end of my last cycle I was actually on my period which would put me right around ovulation. Unfortunately I am not doing OPK testing so I am not sure if I ovulated. BUT, I got some quality time in with my bf which included a bit of bd'ing...:happydance: ...so I am covered either way. :)

Coy...tell that baby girl to come on!!

Ali...I hope vacation is awesome!!

TwoToGo...how is life treating you? Did you test?

BabyWhisperer...I am thinking about you!! BFPs are coming our way, I am fully convinced!!

Everyone else...God bless you all!!

TwoToGo- yes, we do have a reclyner, I always ended up sleeping on the couch with ly two dd's :haha: But may gve the reclyner a try!

Jess- Yay! There you are! :hugs: And yep, it sure looks like an ov spike to me! Glad you are meeting your deadlines btw it can be very stressfull!

AFM- I skipped dinner again sonow I am starving...actually I had a bagel and a cup of cereal (yes, a cup. My coffee cup was handy so I ate cereal out of it  LOL!) and that's it today so I am seriously scrounging the kitchen :haha:

(an aside to babes) Jess said to come OUT! That means NOW little miss! :growlmad: lol

Yes! She needs to come out Monday! It's already Monday here in EST, which means its my Birthday (40) and also the day I picked for babes to be born! Come out and join us little one!

Morning all and happy 40th Ali.

Well, I know I had that positive OPK, but my temps don't indicate ovulation, so I still don't know what's happening. I'm going to try to get a doctor appointment for today. If not, then I'll have to try again on Wednesday as I'm working in the office tomorrow and its 1.5 hours away from the docs.
:cry::cry:
Sorry to hear about the witches coming.

Well I suppose I had better get up and showered before I start work downstairs at8.

Ali ~ :cake: happy 40th birthday hun xxx

coy ~i meant ntnp for 11 months and actively tried 12 month (charted for 10 which always shows a temp spike along with positive opk and peak on cbfm so presume am ov,i was also ov when on clomid they just gave it me to try and boost eggs or release more to give better chance of conception)also i have never taken birth control since having my 1st ds and there is roughly 2 years between all my children.

jess ~ looks like ov spike to me to

babywhisperer ~ sorry af got you to

afm on cd4 today going to call drs for an appointment i think see if i can get clomid

Happy Birthday, Ali! :cake: Hope you are enjoying your vacation and getting some rest.

Just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello. I will be gone for the next few days at a minister's meeting, so I doubt I will be on unless I can sneak away a few moments. :winkwink:

I tested this morning and got a BFN. and I'm spotting much heavier this morning so I know the :witch: will be here today. That's okay. It gives me a month to get into my new plan/program. I'm going to start walking everyday, take CoQ 10 religiously, and get back to healthier eating. I have over 53 food allergies (delayed allergies), and I haven't been very good lately about keeping away from them. :nope: I know this affects my health, so back to eating correctly - which will also help me lose a little weight. I'm wanting to drop about 15-20 pounds, which will put me in the mid to high range of my "ideal" weight. I dare not go to the low end. Anyway, a healther me equals a better chance of a BFP and a heathier baby.

You ladies have a good day! And Coy, I hope to see pics of a beautiful little girl when I get back. :flower:

You're painting quite the picture! I don't know how you do all that you do while in this uncomfortable position. I'm learning so much from you!

Afm, I am either 25-28 depending on when I ovu. I used opks and bbt, is it possible with a spike in bbt and smileys on opks that I didn't ovu? I didn't really have the ovu cramping this month so I'm wondering.

Yes, I think it is entirely possible to have all the signs but no egg is released. I think an OBGYN or FS can run tests to see what is going on. I think the progesterone test 7 dpo is a good one, as it measures the level produced and is an indication of ovulation. Too low and you didn't ovulate. Maybe you should go in for your day 3 blood work? That will tell you a lot about your fertility.

I'm having a very relaxing time. Catching up on my sleep. Went to the Cranberry Marsh yesterday. I think mom wants to try and get the boat out in a bit. It's very cold, just above freezing so we'll have to bundle up.

I hope you are feeling better! Sorry AF got you, maybe November is your month!

Good morning ladies :) :hi:

Wow,
we're all on today! :happydance:

Ali- Happy Birthday lady, I hope it's a fabulous day for you! :hugs: 40's got nothin' on you! :bodyb: You look awesome  Wait till you have kids! lol! Kids are wonderful but they are little stress magnets  The Cranberry Marsh sounds fun, what did you do there?

Jess- I love your singing  That's too funny what your brother said :)

Babywhisperer- yep, it is possible to have a spike in LH that signals a positive opk without ever releasing the egg...rare but it can happen. I agree with Ali, maybe go in for day 3 blood work if you can? If you haven't been trying that long it may not be an indication of an issue, just timing.

Terri- I have been following your chart and yes, you would think that your temps should reflect ovulation...what I would do is maybe keep testing with the opk. I read about another lady on bnb that had whacky and very long cycles...her doc told her that she would spike at least twice a month and to always follow the second spike (positive opk) as her egg release spike. I am wondering if that is what's happening? Just keep bd'ing! That way you are covered. I think they call it annovulatory cycles  but I will research it some more for you. What happens is a lady thinks she has ovulated and stops bd'ing...then her sneaky body spikes another surge of LH, she releases the egg, and the unsuspecting :spermy: is taking a nap! :growlmad: Grab your dh, that way you'll be, um, loaded and ready ...just in case?

Alin- yes, I would talk to your doc about the clomid, maybe see what (s)he would suggest? I dislike the way our women's bodies make us wait a whole month every month! You'll get that bfp, I know you will. As one of the other ladies stated- no problem getting pregnant on your part I think maybe just a mild hormone issue?

Babydust- where are you?

TwoToGo- :hi: how's the sliced finger? Still got those kids doing dishes?

AFM- hmmm...no babes just yet but she is getting seriously cramped in there  I have to poke her now to get her to move then she kicks the crap out of me! :growlmad: lol! I was concerned about it and asked doc that is why he had us do the U/S scan...she looked awesome though w/ a hb of 120+ So no worries! Phew! Anyway, aside from hip cramping and general bellyaching :haha: I am doing okay....yesterday I took a walk in a pair of my very comfortable yet very worn out boots :nope: Shouldn't have done that. The support is all gone from them and with all the hormones making my muscles relax I am paying for it now. My feet feel like they're in permanent cramp! Funny what hormones can do  Anyway today- I am not sure what I'm going to do. Maybe get ahead on some of next week's assignments just in case. I have been thinking garage finishing (just a few boxes to organize but I'm already out of love with the garage 8-[ LOL!
