Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Babywhisperer- I would cut the caffeine now at least until after Ov and into 2WW...that way egg has no trouble finding its way back up the fallopian tube if it gets fertilized  If you are getting ewcm starting today you should get a positive in a day or so I'd think  so better safe than sorry! :hugs: Maybe I shouldn't eat ice cream every other day and she'll come out, huh!~

Question ladies...do I look too heavy in my pics  Getting close to 150 is scary for me even though I realize I am full term pregnant...

GEESH! Someone once told me that the babes gains 1 lb a week in the last weeks of pregnancy. Plus the placenta. So maybe this time you will have a bigger baby? Maybe she is 7lbs + 10lbs of placenta = 17lbs right there! Don't worry about your weight now, as you are literally eating for 2! Plus it is only a few more days to a week before she is here. Once she is here, then you can focus a little more on you and your body. I hear the best thing you can do once your baby arrives is to breast feed and walk. Lots of walking!!! Then in the new year you can get back to working out, and before you know it you will have your fab body back!!!

Hey guys! Really bad o cramps right now. So bad that bd ing tonight would b crazy painful. Almost reminds me of the pain I get before a cyst rupture. Do you guys ever feel this way when you o???

You are tiny for full term!! I don't know where to see pics of you but I'm sure you look amazing!

Lol, fab body? I WISH! I'd have to go buy a set of boobs...wait! If I am breastfeeding (and I plan to) I'll actually have boobs for a while , lol! I am normally very flat to which my very caring and thoughtful mother (I am being facitious!) told me I'd never be able to breastfeed  Showed her, huh? lol... Yes, Jess gave me a work out plan I should have been sticking to ver toughly but I got all exhausted ...I do remember though losing it pretty fast with T and even faster with Kat. Being winter I'll be cutting wood, shoveling snow, etc, plus working out once January hits.

Ali- I wondered if you'd get rain...try not to get out in it too much with this infection :nope: Can you work from home tomorrow too? Grab some hot tea, some cough syrup :haha: and hit the hay!

You do have a fab body! I'm sure you'll be back to your old self in no time :)

I am working from home tomorrow (I've been at home all week). It is nice to have the option. My boss wanted me to stay home to keep the germs out of the office. I will go in on Friday though because I need to go to Laurderdale on Friday evening to catch up with my best friend. She is in town this week, so I want to see her before she heads back to the Bahamas. So hopefully I'm ready to tackle the office and Lauderdale night life by Friday!

I can't wait to get into bed!! My cleaning lady put fresh sheets on the bed, so it will be pretty comfortable to crawl into it and relax

My ovulation pains the first 4-5 months after I went off the BCP were horrible. I was convinced that I had a cyst rupturing and went to the ER. Imagine my chagrin when they told me I was ovulating  I was so embarassed! How was I to know? I had a history of cysts, and was in a lot of pain, and having been on the pill for 17 years I hadn't ovulated in a really long time. :haha: so funny. So I agree with Coy.. take a pain killer and jump DH!!

Lol, ALi! You know my mother didn't teach me a darn thing when it came to my body so I had to sort of figure it all out on my own! Trust I will teach my dd's everything they need to know...including Ov pains, cycle lengths, bbt, etc. *sigh* my 8 year old is very interested in how babes comes OUT thank God she hasn't asked too much about how babes got IN there!

AFM- I had so many bad muscle cramps last night but skipped my warm bath so I am contemplating taking one tonight. For some reason my calf muscles on one side are killing me and threatening to cramp all the time :growlmad: Btw, I thought it was funny we were approached my two separate doctors today (one mine, one dh's) and told that the hospital staff is on full alert and readiness  and could we "please call before we come in" lol just to give them a heads up? I thought that was funny! My dh had a doc appointment today too and his diabetic doctor was reassuring him that the hospital staff was nervous but ready! Do I LOOK like a troublemaker? I didn't think so...:nope: lol!

...Dd's want to watch a scary Halloween movie (re: scary = Scooby Doo :haha:) so maybe I'll take a bath while they watch that. Then maybe I'll just go to sleep!

Why do I crave cold beer in late pregnancy? I never drink it of course but I wonder why I crave it? My body begging for carbs so I can get fatter? :haha:

Oh yeah. Horrible, mortifying story....:nope:.....

While I get my check ups I want dh there because doc is a guy you know? Just my comfort level...any way, my 3 year old usually stands by my shoulders by the exam table and chats up the nurse. Not today. Nope, she happened to be at the foot of the exam table.

 Yes. She saw everything

Then as doc is moving my cervix around and I am concentrating against the discomfort I hear this hesitant little voice asking daddy:

"....Why is the doctor touching mommy's P.P. ?"

.............:help:... ......:help: :help:

The doctor just snorted and sniggered of course and didn't say anything! Anyway her dad explained the baby comes out there (I explained that earlier but she must have forgotten) :dohh:

HAHAHA  She is only 8, and right now she is curious about how the babes is coming out. I'm sure in another year or 2 or if you have another child, she will suddenly ask.. how does the baby get in there. It will happen, just wait for it. It will probably happen at the most inopportune time too! Like in the checkout line at the grocery store.

My parents had a lot to deal with, when I was but 3. I had a friend and her mom was pregnant, and so I asked all sorts of questions about how and where babies come from. Then about 2-3 weeks after my friend's mom had the baby and they had a baby boy. My brother arrived (adoption), well man was I ever confused?!?! I'm like ok, so I see my best friends mom with a huge belly and they get a brother, and all that happens in my house is I go to school and come home and there is a baby in the basinette? WTF? Had I known how to swear at the age of 3 I am sure I would have!!! Let me tell you I was an inquisitive and precocious little girl too. So I'm sure I didn't let my parents just say that a stork arrived!:blue:

Ali-

Lol! Yes, that would confuse the heck out of a kid  Teagen is a very curious little girl and - like you- she has been called precosious more than once. I think she'll start putting things together and asking some pretty tough questions soon! The little one isMUCH easier to convince :haha: We have never used the stork routine, we just say God planted a baby seed in there...so far so good  ANd we're telling the truth after a fashion

:hi: Good morning!

Coy...once again, a fabulous (and a bit humorous) story. "....Why is the doctor touching mommy's P.P. ?" :haha:
I think you should write a book about a day in the life of YOU!! :)

Ok...so I read an article this morning about exercise and infertility...here is what it said...

https://health.usnews.com/health-news/articles/2012/06/06/trouble-trying-to-conceive-this-may-be-why

"We all know that movement does the body good, but recent research suggests that too much of a good thing can be a hindrance. A study published in March in Fertility and Sterility revealed that normal-weight woman—those with a body mass index (BMI) under 25—who engaged in vigorous exercise like running, swimming, and aerobics for five or more hours a week (that's me) were 42 percent less likely to get pregnant than women who did not exercise at all. :saywhat: "Very vigorous exercise can affect ovulation, and thereby disrupt menstrual cycles," says Jessica Scotchie, a reproductive endocrinologist practicing in Chattanooga, Tenn. "The pituitary gland interprets the strenuous exercise as meaning that this is not an optimal time to further stress the body with reproduction, and thus shuts down the signaling to the ovary to promote ovulation." Researchers also add that extreme exercise could affect implantation, a fertilized egg's ability to attach to the inside of the uterus." :dohh: I workout EVERY DAY!!!

The same study, though, found that this high-intensity exercise had no impact on conception for overweight or obese women. In fact, it may be beneficial, as obesity is linked to significantly higher rates of infertility. "Obesity is associated with high sugar levels, which promotes elevated insulin secretion from the pancreas. [This] causes increased testosterone production from the ovary, resulting in irregular menstrual cycles," explains Scotchie.

So in terms of TTC, working out is ok for obese people but not for fit people. :nope: That really stinks!!
But I guess if I want that blessing from above I better start taking it easy. I was going to go run on my lunch break today, but after reading this article I think I will just ummm...hmmmm...well...maybe I will eat lunch! :haha:

AFM...another night of Guitar Hero with my sweetie pie. And tonight is our normal weekly date night so I am not sure what we will be doing.

Everyone needs to read this article...

Hello my lovely BnB ladies, how are you doing today?

Jess, that is a very interesting article!! I have been wondering if there was a correlation between gluten sensitivity and infertility and that article mentioned it, too! I'm just reading a book called "Wheat Belly" ( https://www.wheatbellybook.com/wheatbellybook/bps/index?keycode=222188 ) and it makes sense to me that the low-grade, systemic, chronic inflammation caused to so many of us by the wheat we now consume could impair the body's natural ability to conceive, produce eggs, sperm etc.... the wheat we eat now is not genetically the same as what our grandparents ate....

So many things to impede our miracle baby journeys!!!

AFM: I have my midwife appt today and will find out if I passed my gestational diabetes test or not. I think it's a bit crazy that we have to go 12 hours or more fasting and then have to drink a super duper sugary drink.... that would never happen in real life.... I couldn't imagine consuming that much sugar in one go.... pregnant or not!!
I'm going to ask today about alternative treatments for BV and I want to know what their take is on delayed cord clamping.
Here, they swab you for BV sometime before birth and the normal course of treatment is by IV drip during labour.... I completely understand the risks to babes when born if I test positive for BV, but IF I do, then there have to be alternative treatments, right?. I had an IV in my arm for my whole labour and delivery with DD#1 (I had to be induced) and I DO NOT want a needle in my arm at all this time around.....
What I have read about Delayed Cord Clamping is that if you wait until the umbilical cord stops pulsating on it's own before cutting or clamping, then Babes gets every last drop of goodness and has a significantly better time.... less likely to be jaundiced, more alert, more immunity, more iron, easier time taking to the breast right away, better bonding etc.....

WOW.. so much to think about? Here I am just trying to get pregnant! HEHE. I think delayed cord clamping sounds like a great idea. What is BV?
