Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Haha! Actually this is very rare...I think the last apple pie we had was last year! As dh is diabetic I don't often bring home sweets...I am getting the urge to bake though and that is dangerous! :haha: I am thinking chocolate chip cookies...Is it the pregnancy?or the weather? It is cool here today and cloudy and breezey. typical Autumn day. In fact I can't remember the last chocolate chip cookie we baked either. I think I have a pic of T when she was 5 years old helping me. So...3 years ago! Anyway I am trying to be careful. :)

(whisper) are you still spotting??......

Yes, I'm still spotting. But a great sermon in church today helped me remember that everything happens in God's perfect time. Which may or may not coincide with our time. So, I will continue to be patient. (As if I have a choice)

Very profound words...I just wish my time and God's time were the same, a lot sooner :winkwink:

How's the thesis work coming? I meant to ask, but please if it's too personal just give me a wack...what is your body fat down to? I suspect you are very low and that has implications for fertility and bone mass. I have a friend who does triathalons and she is so low in bf, she stopped training and competing and got her bfp within 3 mos. She is now 12 weeks with her 2nd and she is 40..You will get that bfp!

Afm, just got back from all kind of shopping..pharmacy for my thyroid meds, stores for clothes...nothing I have fits as I have put on 20lbs since my foot surgery in April :dohh: I went from a 6/8 to a 10/12 and it's driving me crazy. I need to get back to the gym in earnest...hopefully work will be low key and I can do that this week. Went to Whole Foods to get some stuff and my prenatals, CoQ10...and some yummy kombucha.

How was everyone's Sunday??

Babywhisperer- wow I had to google kombucha :haha: Looks like honey--what does it taste like?

If anyone needs tips on how to gain weight- I have loads of advice  LOL! I am usually an exersize nut, I love to stay fit and hard and toned and active...that is I will say emphatically the hardest part of pregnancy for me. Just kind of letitng myself go somewhat. I mean, I try to control what I eat but often wheat I ate before is unacceptable when I am rpegnant. I can probably gain a pound right now from eating spaghetti once, lol, whereas before I'd have to eat it for a week. My doctor tells me it is the hormones in the body. He told me one of his mothers was a marathon runner, very little to no body fat and she kept active while pregnant and put on 80 pounds! Without even trying, so  Take what we get, right? :haha:

It is easy to lose however, just takes determination, willpower, and a very careful shopping list :haha:

coy ~ i have always been told 3cm dilated is active labour to

jess your chart is looking fab when you going to test

twotogo ~ hope you get in for a mamogram

ali ~ are you feeling any better

Yes! Thanks, I'm doing a lot better, still crashing at odd times, but I think that is part of having the flu, your energy takes a while to get back to normal.

My beef burgundy looks so good! Doggies are all bathed and clean, laundry is done, but I'm spotting and that is annoying. Hate being on the birth control pill! ARGH!

How is the head?

I had to google kombucha too! It is fermented tea? It sounds like it can help detoxify the body. Interesting! BTW.. LOVE Whole Foods, just wish I could afford to shop there all the time!

At least you get to eat the food before you get fat, for me I feel like I just have to look at pasta, or cake and it adds a pound to my hips! :hissy: I have heard that walking and breast feeding do wonders to get weight off, so I plan on doing both (now if I could just get pregnant)!!!

I'm having ouchies right now, cramping from the spotting. This is so dumb. Just another few weeks and we'll be starting on my next cycle, YAY!

Ali- yep, not long now and you will be starting a new cycle  How come everything we women do has to be difficult? Why can't we get up one morning, stretch and say "I think I wanna have a baby"- and BAM! We're pregnant. Then when it comes time to labor we just hit the "labor button" and out pops baby! :haha: :nope: Can't be that simple, lol.

I know from my last wto pregnancies that bf'ing (breast feeding) does help a lot to lose weight. And right now I don't really have that much to lose. I know I am approaching 150  but that is what I weighed when I had Kat too, so... I am trying really hard not to worry about it. I notice a lot of weight comes off in the first week. Then more comes off slowly. It's what I still have twomonths after that is drudge to get rid of :haha: That's when I have to try to cut without affecting my milk supply (again- why is everything so difficult).

What's the plan this evening? Dinner, puppy cuddles, and go to sleep? I wish...:nope: I am going to have to fight for the shower, get the girls to bed, finish my assignment (almost done), dry one more load of laundry, then  :)

Who's gonna test first? :growlmad:

I need a tester :haha: lol!

Am I addicted or WHAT?!

Jess? Terri? Alin? Babywhisperer? TwoToGo? Anybody?

And where did Babydust get to? Haven't heard from her......

Yep.. that is my evening for the most part. Hanging out with the pups, having my beef burgundy, another load of laundry, then some tv and bed! I like the Good Wife, and Revenge!

lol:) I'm here...crazy few days of out of town guests and my dh just left this am on a mission trip to DR for a week! Ugh...he has never been gone more than 2 nights in our whole marriage. So I suspect this is going to be a challenging week... but at least he is doing something that's awesome and that he feels called to do.

So my chart changed my Ov day on me!!???!!! Ugh...we didn't bd the day that it now says I Ov'd nor the day after b/c of house guests...ugh does this happen often???

Af us due Nov 1 so there has to be somebody testing before me.

Kombucha tastes like a fermented soda, just a little sour but it gives me energy, helps a hangover, and quenches thirst.

Babydust- I think that FF changed your ov date because of your cm ..I am guessing? And your temperature. Did you use opks? I can't remember....But from the looks of it is because of temp and cm. I am guessing you probably ov'd on the 17th.

Um, not yet. I'm still trying to get DH upstairs so we can have a reason to test. :haha: I'm O'ing today, and we've had nothing but distractions. Usually Sunday afternoons are quiet and uneventful, but of course not today. I've had 5 phone calls and have needed to go over to two separate houses, and I prevented another person from coming over. Sheesh! Now Wind Tunnel is on (a racing talk show kind of thing) t.v., and I'm not sure I can pry DH away from it as it is one of his favorite shows. He has twenty minutes, and then he's MINE! :gun:

Interesting that you say that b/c that is the day (the 17th) that I had the bad ov pains. I DID bd that day:thumbup:

So I cannot believe your little bundle is still in your belly! It has to be any time now, right???? ...but we have been saying that for awhile:haha: Don't you hate when we are reminded that there are some things in life that we just have no control over AND oddly most of them seem to revolve around children, babies, childbirth etc...hmmm:dohh: I bet there is a lesson in there somewhere!:haha:

TwoToGo- aha! I looked at your chart and saw the EWCM but wasn't sure...looked like your temp went up a bit but maybe not that full spike? Quick! Start bd'ing! :haha:

Lol! Yes, that seems to be the way things go. It's just that she had already engaged, and with my fast delivery with Kat and my early delivery with T...combined with this being my third (usually brings on fast action ) I just assumed.....Shows what I know! :haha: Ah well...now it really does have to be any day now! I have been having a ton of vaginal pressure...I laughed the other night and told dh my vagina had the hiccups  He gave me such a strange look

Here is what I am hoping.
1) That when I do go into labor we will have enough time to get to the hospital

2) And then she'll just pop out. :haha:

I am really keeping fx'd this'll be fast easy delivery. For starters I am not a huge fan of labor pains :nope: and secondly I worry my dd's will want to "help" and at that point I may be less than "mommy-ish" iykwim? I tend to get pretty brutal with folks during labor and would love to spare my dd's that! :haha:

I'm only on 5dpo so few days yet for me.

Glad your feeling a bit better luckily I hardly ever get ill ( good job with 5 kids,6 if u include dh to look after lol).

The head is a little better but my 4 yr old ds woke me at 4am for the loo and now I can't get back to sleep typical.

We have just taken 4 bags of clothes to the clothing bank and another 2 bags of baby clothes to take ( I like to buy new for each baby,dh does his nut lol )

Hope the beef burgundy tastes as good as it looks and your having cuddles with your doggies I so miss mine and he has been gone 11 years,I now have 2 very naughty parrots lol.

Good morning all! Slept awesome last night which was great because I had major insomnia the night before.

Well, my temp dipped a bit today but I don't know what an implantation dip looks like???? They changed my ov day back to cd 10 after I entered my temp this am. It was 60 degrees in the house this am, so maybe that makes a difference??? Any info you can give me would be awesome.:haha: Also, is it worth while to buy the vip membership on FF?? They are having a sale today.

What's up with everyone else today?? FF says my test day is Halloween!...Now that would be a treat!:)

Hey everyone,

I'm determined not to test yet, FF says 27th, so I'll probably make it to the 26th, but I'm not holding my breath, just don't feel it. Last time it showed up at 12 dpo, which will be the 25th, but we'll see. As I'm not very confident, its easier to put it off.

Well, I had my blood taken this morning, there was the Phlebotomist and a Clerk in the room and I found out what colour, make and model of car the Phleb had and that she really wanted a mini convertable. When I tried to ask her what the test was for, she just said you'll get the results soon and carried on her conversation with the Clerk. Not impressed. I was that annoyed, that I just walked out without saying thanks or bye or anything, which is most unlike me, but then they didn't say anything to me either. Very rude! I'll have to wait until after the Ultrasound to get the results of both together, unless there's something the Doc wants to see me for when he gets the blood results.
