Hey Everyone!!
Zoe is 10 today! I posted a picture of her when she was just a few months old, such a cutie pie! Even in her studded red collar![]()
She just has this little lump on her shoulder blade that she's had for years, but is a little suspect. So we are going to have that removed, she'll get a teeth cleaning and a really good nail clipping. So really none of it is serious, I just want to get it done, and get her recovering.
As for me, I want to get the culpocsopy done ASAP because I don't want the invasion up there to mess with my cycle. I also want to know if we are dealing with anything serious, having suspect lesions in your cervix is not good! I have heard that they often get 'shed' during birth so if all else fails maybe my miracle pregnancy will fix it all!
As for the OPK debate between BabyDust and BabyWhisperer. Here is what I have to say on them. I love the CBE ones that have the happy face, yes they are expensive but they work. They will tell you when you are surging, and if you take them every day during the week you think you are going to ovulate, and continue to take them. Oh and I have heard that it is best to take them in the early afternoon. You will see that your body will likely ovulate 12-36 hours after the first smiley face. When I was using them, I would test in the morning and afternoon and would test until it was gone. I noticed that sometimes I'd get a negative in the morning but a positive in the afternoon, so make sure you test in the afternoon! Then I would use my temp as a guide as to when I actually O'd. The day after I ovulated my temps would begin to rise. This rise is from the progesterone that is being released by the corpus luteum, so this should rise, you might see a 3rd rise in temperature after the embryo implants, this is what they call a triphasic chart. The higher temps are due to the implantation and the additional increase in progesterone needed to sustain the pregnancy. Finally you add in the CM, and the progression of your CM will follow the same pattern, it will start out watery for a few days, this is your lead up to your ultimate fertile window, I found that my EWCM came the same day or the day before I got my first smiley on OPK. So when you first see that it is time to jump your man! The EWCM will last until you ovulate. So that is why the 3 CM, OPK and temps are helpful to determine when you are ovulating.
My advice to you is to start getting busy in the coming months about 1 week before you think you will ovulate, go for every other day, then step it up once you either see the EWCM or the OPK gives you a smiley face, then do it daily until FF says you ovulated. That way you are doubly sure to get enough BD'ing in!
I hope that you won't need my advice and that you are already with child!![]()
I was using the smiley CB tests and testing when I got home from work. The first smiley on cd10 had a test line a little more faint than the ref line. The second smiley on cd11 the test line and ref line were equal. I got neg tests on cd9 and cd 12. So I think I didn't ovu on cd11 since that was my strongest test line. Does that sound right?
Happy Bday to Zoe!!
Hey Babywhisperer, the smileys Ali mentions are Clearblue Digital tests, they don't have lines, they just show smiley faces when its positive.
The lines inside these tests are apparently not testing for the same things as the other ones that have lines on, so if you have a smiley face, it doesn't mean you will get 2 lines. Sometimes you will get 2 lines and no smiley too because they are recognising different hormones. Hope that makes sense.
I think the lines do correspond with the smileys. When I got a - on cd9, there was such a faint test line. The 2 day I got smileys the test lines were almost as dark and then equal to the ref line on cd 10 then 11. On cd 12 when I got no smiley the test line had faded a lot from the previous day...so I think they do correspond. Here is the test I get

Yes, these are the ones I get too and it tells you in the instructions "You cannot determine your result from any lines that you see on the test stick". I also read somewhere something about those lines showing up with different hormones, but I can't find it at the moment.
