Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

O my heck ladies....Talk about needing support! WTF is it with me, I am wondering if I have a "Kick Me" sign on my backside or what....just got hit with a citation...someone is accusing me of something and say they have video...well I did not commit the alleged act and the video believe it or not actuaklly supports my innocence. The individual who is accusing me is a former competative manager and I am wondering if they caught wind that I won my case recently and just want to cause me grief? Whatever it is I have to fork out for an attorney again  When it rains..yep, it pours. Like I need stresssssss! :hissy:

.............:sadangel:.........:sad1: I could take a break ANYTIME God (my prayer).....

:hugs: Coy, I'm so sorry you are going through this. Definitely not what you need. If this goes to court and you win, won't she have to pay for your attorney fees? Not sure why I am thinking this, but something to check into.

Coy: I'm sorry to hear about all the stresses in your life right now. You will get through this. Just try to focus on what matters most, your family, and try to communicate your needs to dh.

Jess: so glad to hear about your HSG. And good luck for these next 3 months!

Ali: It's almost time! I'm a fan of the long cycle IVF. That's what they used why I froze my eggs and it worked well.

AFM, we are planning to do our third IUI this month. I just had my cd11 monitoring and it appears that the drugs worked too well! I have 11 follicles over 10mm, 7 of which appear to have mature eggs (though 2 could be cysts)! We were shooting for 2-3 mature.

The doctor is going to look at my hormone levels to decide whether we can do the IUI (we don't want 7 babies ;)). If not, we have to decide whether to convert to IVF. That would mean big $.

I'm very happy to have eggs, but hmm...

Ali- thanks :) Re: your period. Are you bleeding like a normal flow? Then I'd call your doc and see what (s)he says. I am not sure what to do if they wanted to post-pone it until the 13th--that's 10 days away! This bcp that you are on....does it have like a five-day placebo pill included so that you DO get your period? ..........

Maggie- your chart looks like a post-ovulation chart...the way your temps are climbing def indicates that ovulation has occurred...maybe around CD7 or CD8, which would put you at 14DPO. Your temps are nice and high, have you tested with an hpt yet?

Thanlyou for replying grey eyes, I am with duo fertility and then told me to test on the day you said I ovulated, then my temps went higher and they told me it was a hormonal imbalance, I asked my doctor that day and she said my cycle is to regular to have a hormone imbalance, so I told duo fertility they then said do another test, I didnt thought I would wait until cycle was due,, but since duo have sent me nothing and my temps have got in the 37 range. highest my temp ever went after ovulation is 36. thankyou for reply just so confused spent nearly 500 pounds on support and getting nothing.xxxx

Hi Maggiemom! Welcome to this thread! I haven't heard of duo fertility before. Would you mind explaining it?

Coy, I agree with Two- get that bozo to pay for your costs- stupid frivolous suit! Maybe you should counter sue for harassment? Too bad you weren't here in Calgary- I have a have a kickass litigator friend and he would eat them up for breakfast!

FirstTry, glad to hear about all the eggs! FX for IUI- or IVF if you have to go that route! Sending good thoughts your way!

Ali, how are you feeling this morning?

Ladies, I hope this finds you all well....

AFM, things are about to get much, much better! DH has recognized that he can't deal with his serious addiction issues AND focus on work AND try to be a good husband and father and so we've decided to separate for a year. It was getting too much for both of us and he was pretending his way through family life without really being able to offer any emotional support at all. The number of times he would do thoughtless things to hurt me and come back later to say that he could see it was selfish or hurtful are too many to count anymore. The hours we would spend talking and in the end nothing was changing. Too much of my mental real estate was going towards trying to help him deal with his issues and support his recovery. And to top it all off, his family does not understand what he's going through or what I have been through trying to help him. He keeps trying to explain to them, but they have their heads buried. His sister actually said "well, we all have our addictions, don't we?". *shakes head*. They have not once called me to ask how I'm doing or if there's anything we need. It's like they think it's all just normal marital strife! Dealing with a gambling addict and his behavior is not the same as normal marital strife!
So DH and I both think his recovery will go better if he is living away from us. He can focus on work, going to his recovery meetings, doing his soul searching without the added pressure of daily family life on top of it. It makes it easier on me as well- I can focus on my own healing and this baby and my dd#1 without having to fear what irrational, hurtful thing he might do next.
We had to borrow money from one of his sisters to make it possible for us to do this. To dh's credit it was his idea to move out for a year and he was clear about that when he asked his sister for the loan. We will be able to pay it all back when he gets his bonus in June. The thing is- his sister was 'concerned' that he asked for the cheque to be put in both our names. She wanted to be sure it was going to him and that it wasn't just going into my pocket!! I was so offended! The reason he asked for it that way is because he recognizes that if he had hold of thousands of dollars, he couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't gamble it! Here he is being honest with himself and his sister wants to enable his addiction!! Do you put the drunkard in charge of the distillery? His family has major issues with the fact that I am managing the family finances. DH makes a good living, but they don't realize how in debt we are due to his gambling. He was taking out 20,000 dollar loans to go gamble! Yes, that was plural! Almost half his pay is going to debt repayment and things are finally on the mend and his sister would temp him this way?

Aargh! Sorry for the rant! Apparently it's still a sore point with me. This is the same sister who asked him how she would ever see the baby if he wasn't going to be at home. I shake my head. DH and I are actually in a good place now. I told him that I wouldn't deny any of them seeing her, but after the way I've been treated I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to make it happen! She was talking like DH and I were never going to talk or see each other again. I figure if she wants a relationship with this baby, then sorry, she's going to have to suck it up and speak to me once in a blue moon! We have no plans for divorce at this time. Why add that to the stress pile? We will live apart for this year and then see where we are at. We still have to communicate and I'm still managing his money as well as the family finances and he's going to see his daughter on a regular basis.... This is just the best solution for the time being.

K, rant over now! I promise!!

Philomena :hugs: I'm so sorry to hear this, but I'm glad that it will remove some of the stress you've been under. I hope that the space will help him to find clarity and that it will ultimately bring you closer. :hugs:

Hi Maggiemom! Welcome to this thread! I haven't heard of duo fertility before. Would you mind explaining it?

Duo fertility is a small censor you wear at night under your armpit and it records your temp, then every morning you click it into computer and the support team helps to track ovulation and possible pregnancy. but this month everything went crazy on me, my temps are usually at 34 at rock bottom but on ovuation it always at 35 but last month I ovulated at 35 and it stayed elevated even through my cycle that only lasted 2 days, my temp then just kept climbing to 37.44. Its a good gadget and you can watch your own temp graph, I just dont think they understand what is going on either.xx

WOW, that is very interesting. So what what is your current day? Have you been using ovulation kits or looking at your CM? Maybe with these additional tests, you can pintpoint that is going on?

I am due cycle in 4 days, My cm is strange for a few weeks very wet. I used clear blue fertility monitor for 2 and half years with no luck on duo fertility 4 months with no bother and great support but this month they have disappointed me, It took me 4 years to get my wee man was just hoping for 1 more before I get to old. xxx

AFM - I'm definitely spotting and I have all the cramps and lower back pain that I get right before my period. UGH. I did double up on the BCP to try to stop it, but I am afraid it might not quell my period. We'll see.

On the other hand I feel a lot better, not sure what just kicked in, but I just feel like I have more energy, and my brain is focusing better, and I want work like a mad man to get everything done! So that is good  I'm going to keep moving while I have all this energy

FirstTry - It is only CD 11 and not all of those follicles may end up maturing, I would keep going with the cycle and wait to see what happens towards the end. I am on another thread where another lady had the same thing happen. Well they were told that the cycle was being canceled and that they should abstain, well they had already had sex the day before, and she ended up being pregnant with a singleton. So even though you may have 5 mature eggs, not all of them will fertilize. I think she said she had 7 they felt were mature, and only 1 worked, she is about 2 months away from giving birth. Another lady did the same thing and ended up with twins. So I wouldn't get too worried yet! This might be a good thing, you may end up pregnant with all of those lovely follicles :yipee:

Coy - ditto what has been said. Sounds like this is a totally frivolous law suit, and your lawyer can quash it pretty quickly, and maybe even counter sue!!! So hopefully it will go away fast, and in the mean time I know you don't need this, but hopefully it won't last long! :hugs:

I'm writing my shopping list, which is a bit more difficult since I have to plan meals that are GF. I'm 30 hours into it and feel amazing! YAY! I think my main staple this week is going to be chicken, mushrooms, broccoli and rice. I'm going to make a huge amount of rice in the slow cooker, and then stir fry the mushrooms and broccoli with garlic, and then marinade and cook the chicken in a shitake sauce, and then use some of the sauce (that wasn't in with the chicken) to pour over everything and give flavor. That was what I did when I was working out all the time. I would have a fruit, yogurt and protein smoothie for breakfast, a yogurt for mid-morning snack, the chicken and broccoli thing for lunch, then hummus and crackers for mid-afternoon snack, and then more of the chicken, broccoli and rice for dinner. Only thing I need to modify is the crackers, I need to come up with another option or find some GF crackers.

Do any of you have other yummy meals that are GF? I'm sure I'm going to get sick of the chicken/broccoli/rice meal. I often substitute pork tenderloin or beef in the mix. Or I like to make meatballs and mix them with salsa and serve that over GF pasta. YUM!

Can I just say that I'm super excited about how I feel and switching to GF!!

Maggie, Looking at your chart, it looks to me like you have what is called a tri-phasic chart. That means that your temps were low during the first phase, then you ovulated and they went up a little, and then towards the end of your cycle they have jumped. That jump might very well be the increase progesterone that happens when the embryo implants and you are pregnant! So maybe that is what is happening? :dust:

Phil! So sorry that you are having to go through this. It does sound like it is best for you both to be on your own for a while. I wish your DH's family was more supportive and not so annoying, that would certainly help things. Maybe in time your DH will realize that his family is undermining the 2 of you and do something about it. But right now you need to do what is best for you and your DD and the baby. Here is a big  and know we are always here!

TwoToGo- yes, it is going to court, I am scheduled to go in on the 14th of this month. Am waiting to hear back from my attorney  And yes- I should most def win as there is no evidence to support the accusations, so I will go for attorney fees as well.

Maggie- it will all get sorted, in all reality your chart looks normal to me but I would prob have to see more than one month to compare- I am no expert though! Hope you get it sorted soon. This is an awesome thread, fx'd for you! Wow! DuoFertility takes all the work out of bbt'ing doesn't it :haha: I want one! :) Seriously though, sounds like an awesome tool to have, you will get it all sorted soon!

FirstTry- thank you :flower: Good luck with the IUI and FX'd!! :hugs:

Phil- wow, you read my mind  Dh and I have been up all night, not worried so much, just stress you know? Anyway, yes def sue for harassment the police officers that issued the citation were literally screaming at me! As though I was already convicted and they screamed what a liar I am, etc.... Re: dh moving out...I am glad the two of you are able to compromise right now and both will be happy with the decision. That is all that matters. You don't need the extra hurts right now, baby should be all about being happy, you deserve that for sure! Stupid sister trying to make things difficult though, trust family members, right?! Ugh. Hang in there! Soon you'll have babes in your arms :hugs:

Ali:hi: How did bunko go? Hope you had loads of fun, you deserve it, def need to take a break and relax more often woman! :hugs:

Jess- :hi: :hugs:

AFM-..................lol!

Ali- yesd, I hope it goes away soon :growlmad: lol! We sure don't need the stress and sure as HECK don't need the added cost...here's the case in a nutshell. I bought chicken. On the store surveillance camera- as a security officer I am well aware of the surveillance system in the store and was standing directly under a camera- it shows me pick up a bag of frozen chicken breast, turn it over, examine the contents, reach for a nother bag, do likewise, and eventually settle on one of the bags, place it in my cart and continue forward with mys hopping. Then the next video shows me going through checkout paying for it. Well, the store is claiming that my chicken was too cheap :saywhat: and that I must have changed price tags  The officers indicate in the video that I am changing price tags when in all reality that is not at all what happens- nor does the video indicate that. All it shows is me turning the bag over to examine the quality of meat within. *sigh* How do you even change price tags? Aren't they attached pretty firmly? Anyway, what kind of idiot qould stand under a live surveillance camera and do dumb stuff like that?! And I had my girls with me at the time too and the video is so pixel-blurry you can't even see their faces or mine, just body blobs, so how in heck can they accuse me of something so outrageous?! I am pretty offended right now but trying to focus. Aaargh! :hissy: lol! BUT because the store is bitching I have to go to court. So yeah, after all this headache I would love to countyer sue!

Are you ladies sure you want to be buddies? Because I seem to atract alot of trouble

Ali- yay for GF! I have never tried it but I may just have to now....sounds pretty awesome, and our store here is starting to carry a lot more variety of gluten free products. I will look up some recipes for you

Geesh! It is too bad that you don't have the package anymore. You didn't by chance freeze the chicken for eating later? Then you could prove that they are barking up the wrong tree. All I pick up multiple packages of meat when I buy it too. I want to see what it looks like, and the price, and the date it will go bad, etc. That is ludicrous! Why would they accuse you? It makes no sense. Do they have any proof other than the supposed video camera that doesn't show anything? Like the chicken with the wrong price (since you swapped it) the other package should have the wrong price. Then they could finger print and see it isn't yours. Without that I don't think they have a case, and I'm surprised that the police would even get involved in something like that! Crazy!

Well I gotta get moving or I won't get all my errands done :nope:

Oh and I wanted to mention that my bunco friends are so sweet. Stacey ended up winning on the last roll, and because of that I only won $20 for the night, but I would have won $60 if she hadn't rolled a bunco thus ending the game. So she sent me a txt today saying that she didn't think it was fair that she ended up going home with $65 and me with only $20 and wanted to know if I wanted to go out for dinner and we'd use our winnings to pay for it. I thought that was so sweet! I told her that she won fair and square, but that I would love to go out for dinner! :) I feel horribly for her, she asked me if my company was hiring, apparently her husband is about to leave her and she is panicking and needs to get a job. Poor thing! So we are totally going to go out for dinner, and I'm going to see if I can't help her find a good job.

Is this chick serious????? Yes, I would definitely go counter sue for court costs. Geez!

Yeah, I don't get it, it's totally weird. Anyway, I guess we see what gives from this point. Not sure why this kind of stuff always comes up, dh says its the town people...if you are not born here they ostrisize (sp) you. Dh and I are neither one locally born  so have had to fight constantly since we moved here.

And the chicken that I bought we ate of course...I asked the pd why they didn't continue to peruse the video for the individual that apparently WAS switching tags (I gues the store manager said it has been happening on a regular basis) and the p.o. answered that they were certain it wa sme! Anyway, obviously crap I have to deal with at this point, always something :growlmad: I am going to try and focus on something diff for the moment, I have a college course final due today that I have to finish. Hopefully won't take too long.

Plus my dd's are fighting over toys  and driving me insane :haha: lol! Dh is sick fromt he medication doc put him on so he is trying to rest and the dd's keep yelling and waking him ... I brought babes in with me so they don;t wake her and so they keep running in abnd out shouting at me about this one did this and this one did that---does anybody want to do a body-switch for today? :haha: LOL!

Okay, here are some things I have found over the years that work for a gluten free diet.
For flour, I use buckwheat. Not the dark buckwheat because it tastes too 'earthy', but light buckwheat. It doesn't have gluten, but it does have the ability to stick together like gluten, so baking is so much easier. If you are close to an Amish bulk food store, you can find it fairly inexpensive. And you can substitute it for all-purpose flour in most recipies. I make gingerbread, flatbread, and pancakes out of it mostly. Oh, and I also make pizza dough out of it. YUM!
You can also use brown rice flour, quinoa flour (doesn't stick together at all, but makes good homemade tortilla chips. also very expensive)
There are gluten free crackers out there (they don't taste wondrous), and gluten free baking mixes, but you can make your own for much less $$. I'll try to find my recipe and post it. Also - cornbread! Make it with cornmeal and buckwheat. Very yummy. I also buy Riceworks Brown Rice crisps at Walmart. I use those as tortillas, chips, or crackers when I have chili or soup - in fact I'm eating them right now in my veggie soup.
You can also have beans and use them as your carbs. My favorites are black beans, lentils, pinto beans, and adzuki beans. Adzuki beans are the perfect bean. They are high in fiber and protein and fat free, and can be used to replace protein in your meals. They are a little earthy tasting, but are excellent in soups and in homemade veggie burgers.

If rice gets boring, try quinoa. It's a great ulternative and is actually much better for you than rice. You could also do buckwheat groats, but seriously

If you like hot cereal for breakfast, you could have buckwheat cereal or brown rice cereal. Walmart sells both. Walmart also sells quinoa - it should be next to the rice. Just make sure you rinse it first if it hasn't already been pre-rinsed.

Also, potatoes are gluten free.

For non-processed sugars, I would suggest honey, agave nectar, or brown rice syrup. Brown rice syrup is lower on the glycemic index and tastes wonderful! I use it to make my gingerbread, make rice cripy treats, and chocolate syrup. You can also use it to make cookies or cakes, but decrease the liquid just a bit so the cookies aren't runny. I use agave nectar as pancake syrup, but I can't use too much because it seems too sweet to me. If you want a sweeterner, I would go with stevia. It is natural and doesn't cause headaches like some artificial sweeters do.

If I think of anything else I will post it. Hoped this helped. :flower:
