Crossing fingers for you!!

Hey all, sorry for being MIA. It's been a trying 2 weeks. We were lucky as we didn't lose power for as long as some people...many still don't have it back yet. We had a lot of friends and family staying with us as it got very cold and people didn't have heat. I think we drank and ate our way thru a week of no work, school, gas...it was unlike anything I have ever experienced. We didn't have any damage to our home, but so many were devastated, some even killed by falling trees on LI. I consider myself lucky for only really being inconvenienced. Dh had to wait in line for gas for 4.5hrs before they started rationing. I worked from home since trains were a mess. I went back to work on Monday and then wham, a Nor'easter dumps 5 very wet inches of snow which only added to the chaos here. Trees were coming down again, people who had power lost it again, we even lost ours 3 times. We were very lucky it didn't go out permanently since it was very cold. I left work on Wed right before the storm got too bad and thankfully we made it home, but Penn Sta ended up closing and it took my brother-in-laws gf 3hrs to get home since trees and wires were coming down on the line. I was joking that I was only waiting for the locusts to come next. The Rockaways, Long Beach, Staten Island and other areas on the South Shore are going to be devastated for quite some time. I don't know where these people will go, or how they will rebuild but I hope they do and get some help soon.

It's great to see the likes of Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Timbaland, Ben Stiller all helping out but what enrages me is I have yet to see the big name stars that grew up here either doing a PSA or showing up with supplies. The Baldwin brothers all grew up here, as did Mariah Carey, Billy Crystal, Kevin James, Jamie Lynn-Sigler, just to name a few. And don't get me started on all the celebrities who have Summer homes in the Hamptons...where are they?? They have more $$ than they will ever spend in their life. I hope when they drive or fly out East this Summer they pass by all the towns devastated by this storm b/c I'm sure their first call was to the caretakers of their estates out east to make sure they weren't damaged. Their second call should have been to the Red Cross or getting together to send supplies directly like Justin & Jessica did. The death toll isn't even done yet as they haven't been to all the homes of the hardest hit areas. In the Rockaways people are knocking on doors and saying they are FEMA and then robbing people. Everyone has to be locked into their homes when the sun goes down because of crime. Our town isn't in danger like that, but 30% still have no power. Our gas stations still have no gas. Homes have been condemned and generators have burnt down homes. I have seen crews from Oklahoma, North Houston...and to think LIPA tried to prevent out of area workers from coming in makes me livid. My friend is due with #4 and she just got power back this weekend. The sad thing is that the worst of the damage isn't being televised b/c it extremely bad.

I haven't been online much as my commute has been a mess from the storm damage so I just crash when I get home, but I do miss you guys!

Twotogo- I hope your tests come back fine so you can rest easy. I'm happy you were proactive.

Ali - how's the injections going? Any Side effects besides the itching?

Coy - how's babes doing? Getting any more help from DH and the dd's? Sorry to hear about your tire...seems like a very hostile town, even down to the grocer...I would counter sue for harassment, maybe if the town's people hear you are pushing back and protecting yourself they will think twice before doing anything. Any thoughts to moving? Are the people all inhospitable to you and your dd's? I fear they might have problems making friends or having play dates.

Afm, I am cd10 and will start using opks today. I am losing faith that it will happen without help so I have called a FS that a friend used. I can't get into my obgyn until NYU Medical is cleaned up from the storm since they are 1 block from the East River they got hit hard. I figure it's best that I just go see a FS to get the ball rolling on tests. I have a feeling I have either low progesterone, not ovulating, or low egg quality. Knowing I have reached out to a FS has taken the pressure off as I hope to get some insight as to why it's not happening.

Miss you ladies, thanks for all the concern but we are fine. Hope everyone else is too!

Ali- I agree, my dh and I have had to stand up to a lot of people in this town. To begin with our "first strike" so to speak was in that we are not local....everybody here marries either a close cousin or a sibling :haha: Seriously . Anyway second strike was in the fact that we are an inter-racial couple. Dh is half Native American and I am white. Anywho- the first month when I moved here I got all four tires slashed on my car  And see back then the pd came and took photographs and asked question, got the ball rolling on an investigation, you know? Not this guy...I think he has a little bit of prejudging going on  I will speak with the Chief tomorrow as he is out until then. Sheesh  lol!
How are you feeling on the Lupron so far? Is it normal to have itching at the injection site? I am glad it fades after half hour or so!

Jess- Yay! :hi: Hm...no stress here, but I am noticing some nice high temps this week- are you going to test at all or wait until AF either shows or is late?

FirstTry- Ooooh! Officially in the 2WW! :happydance: :headspin: Take it easy! How long are you on bedrest for?

Babywhisperer- so glad to hear from you! :hugs: I agree with you on some of the folks that grew up there--more money than they can count and can't help out? Oh, dh and I were so angry...we saw some of the elderly people that were without power and food for 2 weeks- where were these folks with help and aid then? :growlmad: I feel so bad for these people, I mean- if they have family then they should be helping out of course but I don't understand the triage that takes place I guess--why leave these old people so long? :sad1:

AFM- :growlmad: lol! That's me today. Get out of one court case, get thrown into another, someone slashes my tires, and police won't act on it. My daddy had a word for this... lol!

FirstTry - YIPPEE :yipee: on being PUPO. I hope it takes. Sending sticky vibes your way.

BabyWhisperer - So glad to hear from you, I thought you had deserted us :sadangel: I know you and your expanded community has been through hell, so I didn't worry too much about you not chatting. I figured you had more than enough to deal with in real life. The whole situation up there sounds horrible. You think that the Gov (and all of their agencies) would have learned from Katrina on how to handle a crisis like this. It just amazes me that our infrastructure is not stronger and more prepared for storms like this one. I also can't believe how many people don't have flood insurance, and saddens me to see families who's home has been destroyed and they won't get much from FEMA or their insurance to fix it or rebuild. This is the one reason I carry flood insurance (which is minimal per year, only a couple hundred $$), and maybe I'm crazy, but I'll be able to rebuild if/when something like this happens down here in FL.
Good on you for helping out and taking people in so that they can get out of the cold, or have a hot meal. I just hope that FEMA and the different gov't agencies do what they must to get everyone back to having power and some form of normalcy.
Congrats on finding a FS, and moving forward on that. Even if there is nothing wrong, there is no harm in getting the testing done to make sure! Keep in touch and please let us know how you are doing!

Coy - Definitely talk with the Chief, that other officer should know better! Have you thought about moving to an area that is less bigoted? Somewhere that interracial marriage is the norm (or at least accepted)? Maybe you can move to FL! :haha: Or at least to a different area where you won't have such issues. Life is difficult enough without having to deal with bigots too!

Jess - YAY! You are here! I miss you too! How is your cycle going? Isn't this the cycle where you weren't sure you BD'd enough because of your tube test? If so, then let's hurry this cycle along so you can get down to business next cycle! :haha:

AFM - Called my FS today because I'm having issues with insomnia. I didn't sleep hardly at all on Friday night, then Saturday I took some benadryl and got a little more sleep, then last night I took 2 benadryl and felt like crap all day :growlmad: Well they told me that they won't prescribe anything to help me with my insomnia, and suggested I keep doing what I'm doing, or take the benadryl earlier? AHHHH.. this is going to be a long 2 weeks if I can't sleep! Also, it is making me super irritable and bitchy, like PMS only 100 times worse. I have no patience and am angry, ALOT. So again, this is going to be a LONG 2 weeks!
Otherwise nothing else is new, my Mom came over yesterday and we got a lot of things accomplished. So next week I will complete my cleanout of my bedroom, and I need to do the pantry. Then over Christmas vacation my Mom and I will do the office, my storage under the stairs, and my garage. Then my house will basically be de-cluttered. That is my end goal. Have that done by Christmas! WHEW!

For those that have been helping me with the Donor..

I've narrowed it down to #2994, #2782 or #4120, most likely the first or second one. You can view their info at www.fairfaxcryobank.com

Let me know what you think!

Sounds like you have been one busy woman! I really need to declutter and get things organized, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Maybe if I made it a priority....

TwoToGo, I'm just on a mission right now, maybe it is pre-nesting? IDK, but I just want to get the clutter out of my house! It needs to go! I'm going to get rid of other things next, things that I can't just give away, probably my hot tub, an old armoire, a gravitron, an old TV, you name it, I'm going to either sell it on craigslist or have Faith Farm Ministries come and take the items. I love the armoire but I just don't know what to do with it, my TV's are flat now, so I don't need a huge container for it. I guess I just want my house to be free of clutter so that I can start buying baby things. OMG all the things I need! EEK!

How are you feeling? I know you told us, but my brain is a little wonky right now. When is your appointment with the surgeon?

Wow, Ali....you need to slow down! You sound like I did this summer! Re:insomnia...if benadryl isn't cutting it you may have to take a page from my book...get a bowl of ice cream, an awesome kick-a$$ movie and go with it! :haha: But then you have work to deal with...in that case I say go with it and catch a nap after work when you can. Sometimes that's all I can do,e xcept I never let myself take a nap

I know, I just feel like I have about 1 more week before I'm going to melt down into a bloated tired sluggish woman! So I want to get as much of this stuff done before that happens. I'm on call tonight and we're doing a failover of our entire system from the data center in Chicago to the one in Miami. They just started it, and it should take about 3-5 hours, and they are going to call me when complete so I can make sure everything is up and running. Talk about no pressure! AHHHH. Nothing like being jolted awake in the middle of the night to make sure our production system is working properly. YAY ME! Good news is that I get to sleep  in tomorrow and work from home. My boss basically said I don't expect to see you in the office tomorrow.. just don't come in. I'm like... ummm.. OK? He still wants me to work once I get up, but that was it. He even sent an email to our entire team saying I would be MIA in the morning and not to bug me. :haha: I guess he thinks I need my beauty sleep?
Well I'm going to to take a little benadryl and see if I can't get a few hours before I get the phone call. Not sure if it will work, I'm pretty wired right now.:growlmad:

Wow, Ali! Is your boss in love with you or something? I never had a boss that nice! :growlmad: lol! I agree with you and TwoToGo- #2994 seems pretty durn awesome! :winkwink: 6'6" lol! Wow! Impressive...plus he likes dogs  def a prerequisit!

AFM- got my butt kicked tonight! lol! Tried to tackle a major asssignment in school, a 3 week old baby, and my other dd's...dh...med running for the family, I ended up getting a call late (6 pm) from our doctor and having to run out to get antiobiotics for Teagen tonight too. She was on an amoxicyllin (sp) doc put her on and her white-spot sore throat cleared up- until the day after she quit taking the antibiotic! Then he put her on another round of them and she cleared up...until a day after she ran out of antiobiotic again  So I called him today to let him know her fever and white spots inside her throat were back. He prescribed augmentin...let's hope tit works to kick this out, poor little girl, wth right?! Anyways...Finally got my assignment submitted but had to fight a tired cranky infant and very rambunctions "baby waking" dd's all evening. I'm pooped!

HEHE.. he is cute ;) I think he just wants to make sure I don't get burnt out.
OK, it's official, I'm going to go for #2994. :yipee:

Re: the armoire, is there anyway you can repurpose it and use it in the baby's room? Maybe to store books or toys or clothes? Or diapers and wipes, lotions, etc? Maybe paint it and work it in with the nursery theme? Just a thought. :flower: (I just have a really good feeling about this time for you.)

I go to see the surgeon on Thursday morning. I'm kind of nervous. Okay, I'm really nervous. The first time I see him is just for a consult, and I hate the fact that I have to go over 200 miles round trip just to talk to a guy for maybe 15 minutes. I wish he could have just looked at the results before hand, then called me and said "Yep, were doing a biopsy." and went ahead and scheduled it. But what I'm really nervous about it the biopsy itself, not so much the results, but the idea of a needle going into such a tender place.

Then, if it does turn out to be cancer - which I know that statistically the percentage of it being cancer is low - I will have to think about how it will effect my fertility.

Good morning ladies! My crosshairs are up:) Which is good and bad. We really didn't bd as much as I would have liked to the last few days. We did on the day ff says I Ov'd but not the next day. We did last night but if I Ov'd on Sat I'm sure the egg was no longer available to go on a date with dh's sperm:haha: But who knows, FF changed my O day a couple times last month. So here we go again into the 2ww. I have been using the soft cups which really do help keep everything up in there. Question, don't you find it hard to determine what your cm is like when you are actively ttc'ing? Like, there is sperm and pre-seed in the mix so how do I know what my cm is like??? :haha: Well good day ladies! Hope to be checking in a bit more now!!

:hi: everyone!

I hope all is good in the world of BnB TTC over 35!!

It seems like I am so busy but then I am not really doing much. I take advantage of the times when my bf wants to spend time with me. So lately we have been doing a lot of that. He even got a video game for us to play together. (Other than guitar Hero). He knows I don't like the shoot 'em up games so he got this game called Portal 2. It is a cooperative game that involves figuring out how to get out of one room and into the next. But you have to work together. It is actually really fun...and addictive.

We are certainly hoping to be pregnant next month. I don't think we made it this month because of the timing of the tube testing that I did. But he seems pretty excited about the thought of a little one being born around his birthday. His enthusiasm makes my ♥ smile.

...maybe things will slow down here at work and I will be able to keep up with everyone. I have oral exams on Monday, November 19...then GRADUATION!!

Well, until next time...Have a great day!!
