Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- can I have some of your chile? :haha: What's your recipe? I had a traditional Zuni chile once-awesome! No beans, just slow cooked pork, roasted chiles...MMM.

Thanks for the pics Coy! Aeryn is so sweet :)

Dh has told me I now have to cook for one. He has put on 20 pounds since we got married 3 years ago. He is now 169 pounds and most of the weight has gone to his belly because he hates to exercise. He said he doesn't want to look fat in his trunks on the beach. He said to just make him a salad for dinner because I feed him too much. He said I give him dinner for lunch and dinner :haha:How can I cook for just one? I always had so many leftovers when I was single and cooked for myself. :dohh: I guess the guests are going to have to take the birthday cake home since he said he won't be eating any.

Coy I am NOT lucky to still fit in my summer clothes. Having a BMI of is 17 not good for ttcing. :( I even bought size 4 corduroy pants as motivation to gain weight this winter. Still wearing the old size 2.

Ali how about some bananas and after dipping in chocolate roll them in chopped nuts :)

I am making grilled chicken so I was thinking of slicing and laying it on top of his lettuce with raw veggies, roaseted pine nuts and feta. I will have mine with pasta and sun dried tomato alfredo and sauted zuchinni. I hope he still doesn't think the salad has too many calories. He does need the protein right?

Yes, he does need his protein! Just lower the overall calories to about 500 per meal (if he eats 3 per day), and make them full of veggies, lean meats, fruit, nuts, whole grains, and good fats. Then add in a healthy snack or 2 and he'll be fine. Men need more calories then women, but I think if he were to eat 1500-1700 a day of good food, then he'd probably lose some weight, but do it properly.

Why not just give him everything but the pasta? That would be easier on you. Plus I bet it will be more satisfying. Well unless there is a ton of cream/fat in the alfredo sauce. Then maybe he should skip that too.

Ali- can I have some of your chile? :haha: What's your recipe? I had a traditional Zuni chile once-awesome! No beans, just slow cooked pork, roasted chiles...MMM.

My recipe is pretty simple:

ground beef (browned and drained)
onion, chopped
2 green peppers, chopped
2-3 garlic cloves sliced or chopped
1 tpsp of olive oil
2 cans of kidney beans
1 can of chopped tomatoes (large can)
1 sm can of tomato paste
chile powder (as much as you can handle)
smoky apple wood bacon flavoring (pampered chef) - optional
hot sauce (as much as you can handle)
cayenne (as much as you can handle)

Brown the meat, add to crock pot. Saute the onion, peppers and garlic in a little bit of olive oil. Add to the crock pot when vegetables are tender. Pour in the tomatoes, and paste, drain the beans and rinse them, and add them too. Shake as much of the chile powder, hot sauce and cayenne in as you want. Cover and let simmer for 6-8 hours.

Simple, but good. Just normal good old chile (Canadian style). LOL! We often serve it with sour cream, bacon bits, chives and cheddar cheese. Sides are usually garlic bread, and a salad. Now that I'm GF, I skip the garlic bread, but ooh I miss dipping it into the chile!

Thanks for the tips Ali. :) Yes you are right the pasta and sauce are too many calories. I was brought up by my Mom that we should always have a starch. protein and veggie in our plate :haha: I will have to change my way of thinking for Dh.

I make my chilli the same except I use garbanzo and black beans and ground turkey in my chilli and I add a tablespoon of cocoa powder. (this is my secret ingredient and makes it so delicious.) And cocoa is good for you

OMG all this talk about chile...chocolate and strawberries..yum I'm getting hungry.:icecream:

Lucky Chantal and Coy! I wish I had your problem. If I could only go through the day without eating.:happydance: and be a size 2. In my dreams:sleep:

I even picked up on JM teaches exercise classes. I'm struggling right now with getting to the gym. My DH is saying lets go and I'm:sleep:

So I emailed the FS and I'm annoyed:growlmad: I told him my concerns about my schedule and it feels like I lost 2 months. He said lets go forward with IUI wo drugs and follow up with IVF if that doesn't work. Didn't I say that 2 months ago?:haha: Ha?????!!!!!!!!

Twiggers nice spike... So ladies gym or no gym? If I go to the gym I'm going to want a burger!

I'm so happy going to Florida this weekend. :happydance: I'll be able to focus on:sex:

Ugh....asked DH to pick up my package and he didn't. Worked a long day, no package for me to POAS, no one walked the dog, and no dinner. Can I curl up in a ball and cry?

Twiggers sounds like you need a long hot bath and some tea:)

Thanks sams. Instead I went to McDonalds and bought a FRER from Walmart. BFN but its still early.

Samsfan that is a good sign that your RE suggested IUI first. Means hormone levels and dh's :spermy: is looking good. They told us to go right to ivf. Shame that they made you lose 2 months though.

twiggers I know how you feel when you are looking forward to something at the end of the day and it doesn't happen. I agree with samsfan, soak in the tub, always works for me. You could be feeling emotional because of that spike in temp which was probably elevated progesterone due to implantation:dance:

Yes 9 dpo is too early. Especially since you thought maybe you ovulated on day 14 and not 12. I personally don't test till 12 dpo and only if I haven't started spotting.

Omg This is so cute!! This will cheer you up twiggers

darn :nope: BNB won't let me paste the link but if you type "baby asleep until favorite song comes on" in youtube you will see it :)

Coy you give me hope! :hugs: People keep telling me I have to put on weight because being underweight causes problems getting pregnant. You have 3 children so obviously they are wrong!A friend of dh likes to tease me that I weigh the same as his 6 year old son:growlmad: I'm just under 5'4 and 97 pounds but I am small boned and I feel comfortable at this weight. However since watching the superbowl I so wish I had legs like Beyonce!

Good morning ladies :hi:
I have had Hannibal type nightmares 2 nights in a row. I am convinced it must be the progesterone causing it. I read that it can cause vivid dreams but this is going to be an exhausting 2ww :headspin:
