Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Samsfan I did live in Barbados for 28 years but I live in Maryland now. The fish here is all frozen or thawed. It just isn't the same. When we got to Barbados the 18th I am going to be eating a different fish almost every day for 11 days lol

Goodnight ladies

Good plan! I was just talking with a friend in Denver, she was amazed that there wasn't more fresh fish in FL, or at least my area. Same goes for you and being on the coast I guess! I get my fish at whole foods when I do get it. That. way I know it is fresh. The fish they sell at my local grocer looks half green!

When it just was getting interesting, I missed my bbt this am bc I woke up a t 5 am with a stomach ache. So no temp today. Pout.

Happy Birthday Jess!!:cake:

Wishing you a year full of happiness and that all your dreams come true :dust:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS!!

Just checking in ladies, nothing new here. Still facing redundancy and no other work secured so DS doesnt want to TTC until this is sorted so I'm in limbo land and burying my head in the sand. Tis the reason I dont feel like posting much but I am reading when I can and rooting you all on.

Best wishes you you all xoxo

So sorry that you are in limbo land, that is never any fun. I too am in a bit of a limbo position too. However, mine has a light at the end of the tunnel. I really do hope that things turn around and life starts getting easier for you and your family.

Where is everyone :sadangel:

It is Friday, we should all be chatting and getting excited about the weekend!

I have a very exciting appointment tomorrow morning to get a new battery for my car! After which they usually wash it, yay! Besides that, I really don't have much planned. I am thinking a trip to Home Depot and Lowes to look at paint chips, and lighting for my kitchen and bathroom, then maybe over to Walmart to look at sewing machines and pick up a few groceries while I'm there. That is my plan for the day.

How about you lovely ladies?

Just a super busy day...

We had our inspection for our newly built house and water started backing up from the shower and the tolet and bathtub aren't draining. We're supposed to be closing in a week *sigh* It's the builder's fault too...we wanted to do the inspection over a week ago and they kept pushing it back.

Oh, and really nice...their "inspector" didn't find anything. Which is why I insisted on hiring an independent inspector.

Ya, my experience with inspections on houses is not great. I would have been their worst nightmare if I had been in the picture when they were building my house. So make sure everything works! I've heard horror stories, and I am living proof that you need to stay on top of them! I did the same thing, and hired an independent inspector. I'm betting you are glad you did!

I hope they get things resolved and you are in your house in no time!

I'm busy cooking and getting ready or dh 40th birthday party tomorrow. I baked a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I good some good use out of my new food processor grating cabbage and carrots for coleslaw and walnuts for carrot cake. I will only have to roast chicken and cauliflower tomorrow.

Wishing all you ladies a wonderful weekend. :)

So I just got the call from my FS office.... drumroll..

My e2 (estrogen) was 111 and my p4 (progesterone) was 6.07. They think that based upon these levels I did ovulate, but that my body is in the downward spiral that occurs prior to menstruation. So I probably just ovulated later than I think, perhaps more like Jan 28-30th. I'm to call as soon as my period arrives, and then we'll start my cycle! I am taking the provera so I'm sure it will come soon.

I also bought the WheatBelly Cookbook last night, and can't wait to read it! I'm inspired to start cooking healthy again (after my naughty eating the past few days). I almost went on a late night search for chocolate doughnuts! :saywhat: I wonder sometimes how I get these cravings!! Last night it was specifically chocolate doughnuts. I resisted, and did not go out at 10pm last night to get some! YAY ME! I find I don't have as many cravings for bad foods when I 'm eating healthy but not starving myself. Does that make sense? When I'm not curbing my calories, I'm not hungry, so I don't get into these strange food craving periods. But when I'm not eating properly, and my body is in need of nourishment, my cravings take over and I eat crap and it is a downward spiral. So I think for me, the moral of the story is no more dieting, just eat healthy foods in proper portions and I will be in a good place! Sounds easy doesn't it? If it were there wouldn't be so many obese people in the world (including me)! :haha:

Hello ladies! :hi:

Ali- first off let me say "yay!" for not going out at 10 pm for doughnuts! :haha: lol....I did buy blueberry muffins for the dd's but dh and I are steering clear  (I say this as I eat chocolate ice cream  )

Twiggers- no AF yet? :happydance: Fx'd!

Sam- where are you? Hope you enjoy a great weekend!

Jess- how was the birthday? Did you get your cheeseburger?

Chantal- wow, carrot cake w/walnuts? Mmmm...Sounds awesome!

Angel- :hi: Awesome to hear from you!

AFM- hm...it has been a weird couple of days. Children mostly :haha: We had a massive confrontation with Kat yesterday to get her to take her medicine :trouble: lol! Ah, we tried everything, even sugar coating. Well, after the meally yesterday (I won't go into it :shh: lol ) today we just made her swallow the pill which is tough for a 3 year old! She got it done though  I started my new criminology course too :)

Oh, and looking at my chart, why do they highlight some days with diff colors? Is that an estimate on fertile days? Dh is melancholy talking about another baby,s o.......?

Oh dear! I can only imagine the struggle you had with Kat! Hopefully it will get easier! So what courses are you taking now? I know you said criminology but what specifically? I wish I could go back to school I love learning new things!
I have no idea what FF is up to, I gave up using it as I didn't think it helped me much
Why is DH melancholy? Because he wants another child or because he doesn't?
Did you get snow? I think the east coast is getting pummeled!

Went out for happy hour after work last night, those 2 beers tasted so good! MMM.. I haven't had a beer in months and they were pretty yummy! It also helped relax me, I'd forgotten how easy it was to just chill after a drink or 2! It was a very zen night last night.

Now I'm at the VW dealership trying to figure out what is up with my car ? It was flashing all kinds of scary lights on the dashboard. They think it might be the battery? You'd think with all the sensors on the vehicle it would know when the battery was low! LOL!

I hope you are all having a great day! Where is everyone? :sadangel:

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I am 37 years old and hubby is 40. We have been trying for a couple of months to concieve #3 for me and #1 for him. My daughters are 20 and 15. I had them when I was very young and I would love to have another little one. I just started taking my temps and they seem to be all over the place so starting next cycle I will switch to vaginal temps. I hear that this method is more consistent. DH seems to think his swimmers will have a hard time seeing as he has a low testosterone and takes androgel daily. We have not done any blood work or testing thus far just hoping for a BFP soon!!

BABYDUST to all of you!!

Welcome Paula! I wish you the best! Hopefully you won't need any additional help! You might want to look into supplements that improve male fertility, as well as supplements you can take. I think CoQ10 can help you both. Hopefully some others here can chime in on other male fertility supplements. I took royal jelly, maca root and CoQ10 to help me, and I believed it gave me a boost! Best of luck! :dust:

Thanks alicatt, I'm going to look into the supplements that you mentioned. Thank you very much!

Ladeezz!! How is everyone today?

Twiggers- your chart has me on pins'n'needles! :haha:

Ali- speaking of drinking beers...It has been at least 2 years for me, so last night I got a taste for it. I had a Corona. It was awesome  lol! Anyway, I waited until very late. Aeryn goes to sleep at 10 pm and will sleep until 6 am so that's my window :smug: Any alcohol is gone by time she eats again. I had a very zen night also- I watched Elementary, drank a Corona and  lol!

Yes! we got a crapload (it's a word) of snow...at least a foot. Just got in from shoveling the driveway. dd's had a blast tho- I just left their pj's on and put snowpants and threw them out in it :laugh2: They had fun.
