Welsh ladies - your opinion please!

Hello,

We have decided to name our baby girl Guinevere. My question is - is Guinevere the traditional spelling? My husband prefers to spell it Gwynevere and I am not sure what I like best.

Any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

Well the traditional spelling/version of the name is Gwenhwyfar but it's not used much. Gwynevere is neither really correct nor used. Go with Guinevere

Agree with pp. Guinevere looks lovely though, and if you like it go for it. Will you be using Gwen/Guin for short? I love this name! Xx

Thanks The reason my husband wants to spell it Gwynevere is so her nickname will be Gwyn and hopefully easier to spell... still I like Guinevere. Thanks again for your input!
