Went to docs about painful heartburn

Goodness, see another doctor! I want to kick him in the testicles!

This pregnancy Ive got by just fine with Gaviscon, but first time around it was awful and I also went on the Rant-a-something tablets. I only needed them a short time but the Gaviscon wasnt even touching the indigestion I had.

i found gaviscon really worked for me. also my doc said if its possible prope up the head end of you bed with a brick or books on each side, so that the acid stays down a bit more rather than coming up and giving the heartburn. we couldnt do it with our bed but i do try and sleep with my head propped up a bit

Nexium works for me. The stomach acid chokes me at night sometimes and burns my nasal passages. Not fun!

oh hunny, i feel for you, I wonder why your dr wouldn't give you anything?

Mine prescribed omeprazole tablets as mine was so bad, any change you can see another dr who might prescribe something?

Im gonna have a word with my midwife when i see her next.
The words the doc said where "the manufacters(sp) does not like us giving the tablets out to pregnant women" gave me a smirk and walked me to his door.

I layed basically sitting up last nite and had an alright nite.. Drank more water during the day as i like my caffiene free fizzy too but have not touched that,
Had an ok sleep still woke up with heartburn but not as bad. But am suffering at the moment :-( x

i suffer really bad at night and all my doctor will give me is gaviscon, he said he "doesnt want to risk giving me anything else before of how far along in the pregnancy i am" my MW told me to have a dry biscuit and then gaviscon 30 mins before i go to bed and try to sleep propped up if possible. i find a glass of milk or yoghurt eases it too hun, good luck xx

My midwife told me that rennie and gaviscon are safe during pregnancy as i have been suffering from really bad heartburn and indigestion, called the midwife and she suggested the above to take!! xx
