What a immature inconsiderate *******!!!

Pinklightbulb- I know quite a few who smoked marijuana while pregnant, especially for the morning sickness help. I do not know about effects on the baby etc... and I am not a doctor so I can't say too much else about that. I won't say good for you, lol as I am sure you understand why, just like for the smoking. I smoked off and on when I was pregnant, went days and days without but couldn't fully kick the habit. I seen the specialist and she explained to me anything under 7 cigarettes a day is really good, and that and under isn't known to cause any real harm to the baby, but over wasn't good at all. I kept it to around 1-2 a day, and like I said, would go near a week without them. I quit fully the day my daughter was born and haven't looked back. It's harder for some than others though. Anyways, not condoning use of marijuana while pregnant but the people I know who did, have very healthy children and are very smart too. I do not know how things will turn out as they are still children and I hate when people use the "my child is fine and I did/do it" as that isn't proof, kwim? I don't think any serious risk is posed to a fetus, and in fact believe smoking cigs is probably worse for baby overall, even though both should be avoided, I do not judge. :hugs: Just wanted to share my opinion :) xx

:hugs: Cigarettes were a MAJOR demon for me and I also had the odd couple a day. I felt guilty after every one-- but never after a cone to fall asleep or for m/s. I have seen far too many mums who smoke it and their children are all bright, happy, intelligent children. You can NOT pick any difference with them. I doubt anyone would be able to look at my LO and know I smoked pot. Cigarettes perhaps as he was small but then again so am I-- I am 4'10" so was probably never going to have a big baby!

I can't believe people live their lives saying 'what if'. We have a drink in the house i.e. a glass of wine with a meal or occasionally 2 but does that make us bad parents - I don't think so. If that's the case then all my friends, who incidentally include an A&E consultant, join the ranks of bad parents. I could live my life saying 'what if' and 'just in case' - so I better not take the car out again, cross the road etc. You can't live your life like that, IMO.

So you suggest doing anything you want to do and to hell with the consequences?

Nice.:dohh:

Hardly the point I was making Foogirl. I'm actually a very sensible adult who does consider the consequences of my actions and doesn't think to hell with them at all. That's the problem with this site - too many people take every post to the extreme and add their own slant to them. I work with people who have limited life expectancy and many of them realise that life is there for living and not focusing on the 'what ifs'. I can have a glass of wine and be perfectly capable of looking after my child - it's not as though we're out getting bladdered every night.

I did as well, and I kicked myself daily, and hated myself. I felt depressed and everything, I think that is why it hurts so much when people get on their high horses and pass judgments without even knowing the situation or how someone feels. It's a shame when you fear getting attacked by of all people, other moms?!?!?! You don't need to worry about that from me hun :hugs:

I know there are effects from smoking while pregnant. Some suffer from them and some don't. My daughter was 6lbs5oz but 4 weeks early! She would have been around 8+lbs the specialist said, blood flow through placenta was awesome etc...

I know another girl though who smoked heavy through both pregnancies and both kids are always sick, lung problems etc... it's terrible. Then again, their mom was a very sickly baby and her mom has never smoked.

Again, I know there are risks, I am not stupid (in case anyone thinks of it) but they are different for everyone... not worth it still, I know, I admit but it's not a guarentee your baby will be delivered with health problems.

I was honest :) I don't see the point in lying. Yes, I smoked pot when I was pregnant. No, it hasn't harmed my son. It didn't affect/concern anyone else so why should they judge me? If I was a crackhead that is a different story. But I'm not. Pot is a different thing-- it is a herb and when untouched completely natural. Why should it be lumped in with man-made, physically addictive things? I expect bashing to happen, but that is fine, not everyone will agree with the choices I made, just as I am sure I might not agree with/wouldn't personally do certain things that other mums have done.

i did, but as much as i am a "pro weeder" i am not gonna try and justify it cos i cant. i hate the fact that i did it while i was pregnant

i will add that is hasn't affected my son, he is a very healthy happy young chap :)

And just for the record before people decide I drank my way through pregnancy because I couldn't care less about the consequences of my actions, I never drank a drop of alcohol from the time I got my positive pregnancy test.

No one should feel they need to lie, or fear being jumped on :( Sad this is how it has ended up lately :(

Thank you pinklightbulb and mummy2jack for being very honest, :flower:

Just curious cause of the pro-weed aspect of the thread, just wondered if people continued to smoke it whist pregnant.
Im not going to be judgmental about it :flower:

With my first pregnancy I followed the government guidelines and had no more then 2 units of alcohol a week, with my second I hardly touched it but by then most people were saying women should not touch any alcohol during pregnancy so now I worry about what harm I have done to my first son, its a never ending cycle of worry being a mummy but also enjoyment :)

Thank you pinklightbulb and mummy2jack for being very honest, :flower:

Thanks for that and for not jumping on me xx
We are never all gonna agree on this, but on that note there are so many tings people dont agree with. If we all did the same things life would be very boring lol
Cannabis works for me, i have reserarched it a lot, my gp is aware i smoke it, i buy from trusted sources and i genuinely feel it doesnt affect me like some think it does. I used to have a joint in my dinner hour and go back to work, did my boss know? NO. Was i still good at my job? YES. I also reckon if you put us all in a room, you wouldn't be able to tell who does or doesn't smoke weed, or even if any of us had had a joint or not for that matter!
I dont wanna argue with anyone bout this anymore, i have made my own choices, some i will regret and others that i wont. All that matters is that my son is healthy and happy and in my opinion and also that of my gp, stopping would probably have caused me more stress and possibly send me back into depression.

HAPPY MUMMY = HAPPY BABY

Again i am not promoting smoking weed, just trying to get acreoss that different things work differntly for different people. Every one has the right to make their own choices/mistakes

Funny but here, well with any of my pregnancies the doctors have been more concerned about alcohol consumption than marijuana lol.. it's amazing the difference in Provinces, Countries etc... and recommendations from doctors.

It makes me sound like I drank and smoked mj while pregnant haha, I didn't, but they each doctor would ask when I would see them.
