Hi ladies. I had a m/c at 5 weeks Nov 9th 2011. December 14th I found out I was pregnant again. I had an early u/s at 7 weeks 1 day and :baby: looked great. Heart rate was 162 bpm. It really eased my mind, but I have come across a lot of mmc information lately. I was really excited, but the thought of not knowing if I m/c with a mmc terrifies me. After seeing a heartbeat, what are my chances of having another m/c? We were trying for 2 1/2 years for this little bean. I also have had a few chemicals (hate that term) and then my Nov angel. I feel really great this pregnancy except for the occasional nausea.
:hugs: to all of you ladies.
Any reassurance would really be appreciated!:flower:

Didnt want to r&r, not much advice really, but i had a mmc in sept, fell pregnant again 1 or 2 weeks later. I'm now 19 weeks and i still worry about mmc. Its natural when you've suffered a loss. Try to remember, this is a different pregnancy. I know its hard and almost impossible not to worry, but try to relax. Congratulations and best of luck to you xxx

I had/have the same concerns as well -- but after the HB is heard, the rate of mc is about 5% and after 12wks, it decreases to about 1-2%. I am 33wks+ and still worry every day!, so take it one day at a time, etc....

best wishes

Once you see a strong heartbeat your chances decreases dramatically!! After seeing the heartbeat for the first time it helped relax me but what really helped was seeing the baby move at 9wks, and of course at 12wks. I still freak out about random things - I don't think we'll ever truly relax but try to enjoy your pregnancy!!

Best of luck to you and take this as a great sign!! :)

The info is certainly conflicting out there. One reason for this is because of the new technology used in IVF. We can now know when someone has concieved even before inplantation. If you are reading statistics that include these early losses then the figures get dramatically high.

Have been through a few MCs myself i have trawled the internet and spoken to many colleagues who work in the baby making business:haha:

The jist of all this info seems to be that if the heart rate is seen and is a good rate at 8 weeks the risk seems to be around 3%. And about 1-2% after the first tri.

Thank you ladies for your support. I wish you all the best aswell.

Hi I am new to this but thought I would share my story with you. I got pg in 2003 had a preemie, got pregnant 2005 had a m/c and in my surgury prep ultrasound they discovered i was pg with twins and one of them was still there!! She delivered on her due date. Got pg again in 2008 it was ectopic. Then I got PG while being pg with the ectopic (I don't get it either). I had to get all kinds of testing because they treated me with Methotrexate. It was really scary for 5 months I didn't know if I would be able to keep this baby and finally they told me he was perfect!! he delivered a week early and is the most amazing little boy in the world!!! I know how scary it is, so hopefully my story gives you a piece of mind that things can work out after a loss!
