What could it be?

Hi all,

My lo is having a tough time and I'm not sure what's wrong with him. Last night he had a temp of 39.4! I called NHS direct and as he doesn't have any other symptoms they just said it could be a virus. He has got a bit of diarrhoea now too. Could it be teething? He's 6 months today.

His temp came down this afternoon but it's going back up again now. I get a higher reading in one ear than the other, hope someone can help me.
