What did your baby eat today? (all-inclusive edition!)

Lunch - jacket potato with beans and cheese, cheese cubes, cucumber, raisens
Tea - cous cous with bolognaise sauce, petite filous

Have any if you ladies had their babies come up as anemic at the 9 month checkup? My LO did (hemoglobin 9.3- supposed to be minimum 10, ideal around 12). I've been trying to sneak in iron every chance I get. It's exhausting!

Yesterday went like this:
B: oatmeal with homemade apple sauce + molasses
L: goat cheese on bread, cucumbers, not interested in either one, so gave him an Ella's fruit/veg pouch
D: beef meatballs and Brussel sprouts - devoured! Must've been hungry from not eating much lunch.

I'm also giving him floradix floravital supplement between breakfast and lunch to help with iron. As per usual the last month or two, he's not interested in the boob. Even when hungry, he'd rather play until he realizes he's REALLY hungry and has a "must have milk" meltdown.

I don't think they check in the UK, unless baby is showing symptoms of anaemia, if you are giving iron rich foods, give something with vitamin c at them same time as it helps with absorption.

B - toast with dairylee, blueberries - hardly ate anything

L - omelette, asparagus spears and rice pudding - again hardly ate anything, but did enjoy the asparagus

D - lentil recipe, pear and custard, organix biscuit

B: applesauce, cheerios
L: we were at baby group, so just some veggie sticks and yogurt melts
D: will be celery root, turkey leg and sauteed dandelion greens

B - barley cereal and peaches, bits of toast
L - turkey and sweet potatoes
D - will try n give her what we're having (likely a bruchetta pasta)

question for those of you guys who give finger food - do you find it to be a slow process? My LO grabs the bits of toast and mashes it with her finger and then throws them on the floor. Yet she's starting to really fight being spoonfed :( not sure how to feed her at this point. Of course she takes the spoon and food goes everywhere but her mouth :/

Yes, it was a slow process and my LO also had a habit of playing with and throwing food instead of eating it for a while. She didn't really start eating properly until around 9 months. Now she will at least try everything I give her and doesn't start throwing stuff unless she knows she doesn't like it or she's full.

Breakfast - Summer Fruit Cereal, Banana Biscotti
Lunch - Homemade chicken casserole, cooked chicken strips
Dinner - (Hipp Organic Jar) Star Pasta with sweet squash and chicken (she only ate a few spoonfuls, since we started finger foods she's not really interested in spoon feeding anymore), stick of cheddar cheese, reduced sugar Rusk, slice of pear, noodles (she threw all the noodles on the floor, she thought it was hilarious), 1/4 banana, organic raspberry yoghurt.

B: Cottage cheese with applesauce, mango and cinnamon
L: Popper (like a pressure-popped rice cake, but with wheat/soy/tapioca), cheese fingers
D: Broccoli and cheddar rice

Breakfast: hipp cereal
Lunch: hm aubergine and red pepper purée, 2/3 hipp fruit pouch
Dinner: 1/2 boots turkey casserole jar, 2/3 c&g fruit cocktail pouch
Snack: loads of organix sweetcorn rings

Meal times can sometimes take up to 45 minutes in our house if finger food is involved, my lo will sometimes readily accept the spoon, but other times won't, this morning she spoon fed herself yogurt after I put it on the spoon for her, she refused it from me.
