Just wondering if u think this is right..
Ok when i first applied for tax credits got someting like £25 a week and OH was on a reasonably good wage and im also employed and off on mat leave atm with a salary of £16000. Now Oh lost his job so done the change of circumstances which meant cancelling claim and doing a whole new one and i phoned today to find out if it was sorted and they told me we have been awarded £2opw
I thought it would be a little more than before not less! We r now living on my basic mat pay and thats it as Oh cant get any unemployement benefit as he was self employed for a while so im wondering how they have worked this out. Obv they ask for last years earnings which meant OH was something like £20,000 but surely thats not what they use when working out award when we have stated on form that he isnt working? I thought it would maybe be about £40 pw and help a bit but panicking now! Any ideas? Kx
