Lo is now crawling
What am I suppost to wash the floor with now? Last night I.washed it with fairy and a bit of fabric softer for smell. It that going to make it clean enough?

Carpets, I just hoover them

Hard floors, I go over with Flash floor cleaner (I only have hard/tiled floors in the kitchen)

my hoover floormate vacuum, it's fantastic, it vacuums hard floors and tiles, then mops and dries all in one, so great

We have a wooden floor, I just vacuum every day if I can but sometimes I don't get around to it for a few days. I really ought to mop some time soon I suppose. I'm not bothered by a bit of dirt though.

carpets i vacuum

Tiles i bought a steam mop because the high temperature in the steam kills all the germies and it's chemical free

Carpets I vacuum and tiles I mop with hot water with a few drops of tea tree oil and lavender oils

I mop my kitchen floor with hot water and dettol disenfectant put into the hot water. Also use antibacterial spray. For the carpets I just hoover them everyday.

i use a steamer on hard floors because it dries in mins and when we have a baba no chemicals x

Flash with Fabreeze. Gosh im addicted lol

Would just hot water be sufficent enough to kill any germs? This is something I've jever thought of. At the mo I use flash all purpose stuff but suppose they are full of chemicals x

I hoover carpets and hard floors most days and then mop the hard floors about once a week (or less ). A bit of dirt and germs is good for their immune system. Be very careful using fabric softener, it makes hard floors ridiculously slippery and is almost impossible to get rid of (we spilt some by accident once!).

Mop with flash and hoover carpet, i also have a vanish carpet spray cleaner i do every so often x

i've used washing powder on the floors before. i love the smell of it!
jake doesn't really go in our bathroom or kitchen (where we have lino!) so im not too worried about what i use on them. when he was crawling though i used fabric softener. (very diluted!)

i use flash with febreeze all purpose stuff in the kitchen and bathroom. and then on the carpets i just hoover and then use 1001 carpet cleaner moose where i need to (near katies highchair) because its got the bristles on the end to rub it in n clean :D xx

Good thread. I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant & itching to clean everything. The only thing that is carpeted is the stairs/landing and spare room so thinking of investing in a Steam Mop just for ease and it's fast and easy ;)

Thanks

dettol all purpose, the lemon one, then i wait for it to dry and go over it with plain hot water. occasionally half a milton tablet, then water.

i wouldnt use laundry soap though, its pretty harsh, put your hands in a bowl of that for five mins! its like paint stripper compared to dettol.

I dont use bleaches as they are linked to endometriosis.

i vaccum every few days when it needs it, and i occasionally use dettol and water on a damp cloth to wipe my carpets down too, and on my doormat i use that dettol disinfectant spray, i also use that around toilet after cleaning it.

I use a bit of vinegar in hot water for mopping.
