Most pointless thread ever :haha:.
We moved house a few weeks ago, some people have said its massive for us (a family of 3 at the moment) and a couple have said its small for us and that we'll need/want more space soon. Made me think about what people consider a big/small house. Oh and for good measure, what would be your ideal sized house? number of bedrooms/bathrooms/reception rooms? I myself would settle for a nice 11 bed :haha:

So how many bedrooms etc does it have?

We live in a 3 bed, 2 reception room house. It just about does us. We have 2 children so we all have a room each. Ideally i'd love to have an office as our dinning room has all the paperwork etc in it and and looks such a mess. I'd also love a hobbies room as the rest of the dinning room is taken over my my cross-stitch stuff lol.
However it's not what you'd call a small 3 bed house. Our bedroom and DS's bedroom are around 14ft by 12ft and Esther's room is 8ft x 8ft. The lounge and dinning room's are under the two big bedrooms so are the same size as the bedrooms. The kitchen is around 7ft x 9ft is is really badly designed. We have a huge back garden.

I would say we live in a big 3bed house but we could do with a little extra space.

We have 5 bedrooms, yep reception rooms, one o er 30 ft and the small one is bigger than anyone else's I know, it's has a basement the length of the house, with four rooms, three bathrooms, utility. So big. No garden though, so looking to move and get done here smaller with a garden.

I ideally I would like a 5/6 bedroomed, with a few acres, 2/3 reception rooms.

We live in a terrace. We have two bedrooms upstairs, a joint living/dining room, a bathroom and a kitchen. Our living/dining room is about 30ft by 8ft. kitchen is way too small though. I think we live in a normal sized house for the area.

I don't really think about it, to be honest...I more go on the feel of a house!!

Our house is a Victorian detached...five bedrooms, four bathrooms...has three reception rooms, study, utility and converted attics. My kitchen is my love! We have biggish gardens. Feels perfect for us. But every house, big or small, has its own 'feel'...

Mines 3 bed, 3 bath. Nice front & back garden.

Perfect for me as I live by myself, and soon baby will be here and we'll still have a spare room for guests. :) x

Ours is a small 2 up 2 down old quarryman's house with a small garden and detached garage about 500m away from house, which is great as we have so much crap to store!

It's for sale atm as ideally we would like 3 bedrooms and a dining room :)

Ours is 5 beds but one of the bedrooms is used as the playroom. We have 3 bathrooms (1 doesn't have a bath though just a shower) and 2 reception rooms. The garden is big enough but not very big. One person commented that we wouldn't have a spare room if we had a 3rd child so the house is too small but I see a spare room as a luxury . I grew up in a 3 bed house, my brothers shared a room and mine was TINY, just room for a bed, dresser and a rocking chair. This house feels the right size for us. I would love a big garden though!

I am desperate for a bigger house, but I have just took it off the market after 3 years if being for sale, could have tried harder to sell it tbh, but we can't afford to move ATM which is a shame.

We only have 2 bedrooms, a big bathroom (used to be a bedroom, going to change it back so have 3 bedrooms) a living room and a kitchen, no dining room and not got a Dining table ATM, we are in the process of doing some work in the kitchen to make room for one, cant wait!!

So yeah.... Our house is tiny and have outgrown it but we are happy and make do with what we have, I would love to own a 4 bedroom house with a dining room, porch and a conservatory, some things that most people have that take for granted.

I would also love a laundry area.... My kitchen usually has a ironing pile on my work top lol

I definitely don't think a 5 bed 3 bathroom house is small!! It's bigger than most families live their lives in. I'd consider 4 bedrooms a 'big' house. We have 3

I honestly can't see how anyone would find a 5 bed 3 bath house was small unless they were very very affluent!
We have a 3 bed detached. The detached part was more important to me than a 4th bedroom. Ideally I would love a 4 bed detached with downstairs loo and a huge garden but this is great for now :)

Mines three bed, three bath. Dining room, games room, big kitchen and living room. I think it depends, I class this house as big as we don't use four rooms really haha. X

Ours is quite small. I've always grown up in big houses, so I feel very cramped. Pitfalls of living in quite an expensive area!

It's a fairly new build 3 bed, with an ensuite to main, 1 bathroom and a downstairs loo. Downstairs is the living room into the kitchen / diner. I could do without the ensuite, as there would be room for a wardrobe, which there isn't at the moment and the 3rd bedroom is a box room! I like the garden though, it's manageable.

So, it seems our house is TINY in comparison to everyone elses!

2 up 2 down terrace, with a yard. Luckily we have a park and huge fields at the end of the street. We did put it up for sale, but couldnt get anything as big in terms of room sizes, lounge and main bedroom are 15 foot by 15 foot. So we have stayed and are having a loft conversion instead. Also love the neighbours here, so thats another bonus

We live in a 2 bed and i think its small. 2 bed 1 bathroom small living room biggest kitchen downstairs loo and a little utility room by down stairs loo. I want a bigger house but cant afford it right now

We're moving tomorrow (yay!) into a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. It could easily be a 4 bedroom though because the 2nd bedroom (LO's room) is as big as the master. We could live there comfortably with 3 kids. It's got a huge yard for the dogs too which I love! It's a 2200sqft house....not sure the size of the yard.

The only thing I don't like about it is that the second bathroom doesn't have a shower/tub, it's just a toilet and sink. I'd love a second full bathroom. Ah well.

It's all about the feel...and looking at your decorated house pics, your house definitely has a lovely feel!

Do you know what I mean? Or do I sound like a proper weirdo with this feel thing? :haha:
