What do you think to name rufus?

I'm sorry if you have called your lo it or thinking of calling them it, i don't mean no offence but can't beleive it was in the top 10 names for boys in 2010! I'm pretty sure i have seen cans of dog food called this in supermarkets, i just think it's bizarre

I think of it as more of a dog's name...but I also have never met a human Rufus, and have met a few dogs named Rufus, so that's probably why.

i used to go to school with a boy called this nearly 30 years ago. he was incredibly posh!

what top 10 list are you looking at? it must be quite a specialised group of people. the office of national statistics hasn't released the 2009 list of name registrations yet, yet alone any 2010 data. the latest release for 2008 shows rufus as the 274th most popular boys name with 157 baby boys registered with this name in England and Wales in 2008.

i've never met a dog called rufus!

Rufus is one of those "stereotypical" dog names like: Max, Buddy, Spot, Rover

its not a name id use but i like it i know 2 Rufus's (humans) and no dogs!

It was in the top names?! Where!? I've never heard anyone call their kid that here in Ontario. (thank goodness)
