Just to be clear here, the blood test does NOT have to be taken on the same day as the scan. Infact private scans reccommend it is done prior to the scan so the two can be compared on the same day for a result there and then. In the blood test they are simply loking at the differential between 2 pregnancy hormones, this is ideal from 10 weeks.
The blood test will be taken from 10 weeks and the scan from 11+3 to 13+6, no earlier no later for accuracy.
