Earlier I posted a thread about abdominal pain after working out yesterday afternoon. Well tonight I have this horrible ache and sharp pain really low behind my pubic bone. I can't move around easily and it's so painful to the point of tears. Does anyone else have this?

I have no idea if it's due to working out or just a coincidence.. It's different than the initial abdominal soreness I posted about after my work out .

I have no idea but maybe look up pelvic girdle pain? I know the pelvis and hips can be a source of problems for some.

Thank you.. I figured if that's what it was I would get some responses / similar situations on here?

I couldn't sleep great last night because every time I rolled over, and every time layed flat in my back it would hurt so bad and if have to wake up and adjust myself :(

I had this pain in my pubic bone when running in the gym and it continued after exercising for a few days. It comes on now whenever I try to run, and even with more intense walking...I feel your pain!

Lucy! It sounds like maybe it isn't a coincidence then!... I wonder what it is... Last night it felt like my pubic bone was broken it hurt so bad :(

Yeah I have pelvic pain and the first times it happened was after I had run for the bus it was horribly sore for a few days then would heal.. but now at 30 weeks it is just always a bit sore and gets worse if I do too much, occassionally after a day of resting (like when I was ill with a cold) it would go completely and it was amazing :haha:
I would suggest it is the exercise love and sadly you might need to do a bit less from now on, I think a physio could advise you on exercise/work outs that are less likely to hurt your pelvis.
:hugs:

Thank you mumma... It sounds like it is from working out. I was telling OH last night that I don't know how to work out without pushing myself (because I dont feel like I am getting a workout if I don't push myself) but I am going to have to learn if this is the consequence. Oh boy it hurts so bad right now  I will bring it up with my OB and see if he knows any exercises that won't hurt so bad.
It sucks because I just got over a bad cold that I had all last week and weekends and i couldn't do anything but rest.. and now I am back in that position lol.

Just a thought but perhaps swimming would be a good alternative? I know it's suggested for people who are double jointed because it supports all the joints and doesn't place too much strain on one area?

I would love to swim but I am not sure they have swim classes for people my age (I don't know how to swim). I LOVE to be in the water but because I am just flopping around for the most part, I don't really like to be around other people when I "swim" and I have to stay in the shallow end, so when I go to public pools I am just surrounded by a bunch of kids. It's kind of a conundrum for me because I would LOVE to swim for exercise :( Wish I had my own pool.
It would be perfect for my knees too.

I always take advantage when we stay in a hotel with a pool :p

Aww i'm exactly the same, I struggle to work out without pushing myself, and have been struggling with the fact I can't do what I used to be able to do. I did read about spd/pelvic girdle pain and it sounds like it could be that. I am going to speak to my midwife next week to see if what she recommends.

I know I need to take it easy and accept I have to do less intense workouts. Before I would push myself through little niggles, probably shouldn't do it now though!

I hope you feel better asap.

Yeah it's really tough.. like I know that I am doing good for body even if I am not pushing myself, but it just feels like I am wasting my time.. Even though I know I'm not. Idk lol
I hope you start feeling better too! Keep me updated! :)

Aw that's a shame. An alternative to swimming lessons might be aqua natal classes so you can get some good movement going without worrying about having to swim lengths. I'm not a strong swimmer but love it and all my time is spent avoiding being leaped on by children in their part of the pool :haha:

If I swam with you I would probably feel a lot better! Lol Or anyone that would stay in the shallow end with me.. But nobody will, not even my OH :( My gym has a 2 pools, a shallow one and a deep one. The shallow one is always packed with kids. -_- I want to rent an apartment with an indoor pool but I can't seem to find one in our price range.

I looked up aquanatal classes and I think those are only offered in UK? Atleast from my findings... Either way I tried to find any type of maternity classes in my city and there are.... *drum roll* NONE! Anywhere! Lovely.

Oh I just thought of something I could suggest to you, you could look into getting a bump support band of some kind. I have to admit I am not a big exercisor and I really should do more, but bump support has really helped me while walking long distances.
You can get a range from just loops of cloth to go around your middle to straps that go under your bump and the purpose of these is to lift the weight of the pregnancy off your pelvis so exercise doesn't put as much pressure on the bones.

Have a look into them :)

Yes that is awesome! Thank you I will look into it! I was never sure what they were for but that makes sense now :)

Is it called something else in the US? I googled it and it just comes up with UK websites. :dohh:

Interesting.... I just went for a brisk 35-minute walk and I have a similar pain (though not as intense). If it's exercise related (and sounds like it is), I'm surprised I'd get it from just a walk. It was more brisk than intended due to the cold wind, and I was pushing my 29-lb son in his stroller, and I am not exercising as much this pregnancy.... I'd say it's exercise related. Maybe too much too soon? This is only my third time elevatingy heart rate since before Christmas, so that would make sense.

I second the swimming idea. So gentle and supportive. What about a public swim at night or an adult swim? You could go in the shallow end at those times and just tread water or hold onto the side and kick. I used to be on a swim team and we'd do kicking drills just like that.

Hope your pain subsides.

It does sound like it is activity related! Sorry your going through it too :( I hope it doesn't last as long for you as it is for me! I am trying to get some housework done today but I can't really stand or walk for too long without being in pain. :dohh:

If I could get OH to come swimming with me, at least for the first few times until I got over my shyness, I would totally do some swimming. I should convince him to!! You ladies are motivating me! :happydance:
