what next?

Hi ladies
So I am now officially in the unexplained infertility category

My FS has said that there is nothing more that they can do and I have to wait another yr to be eligible for IVF

He won't prescribe clomid as I already ovulate on my own

He said I can have IUI but I will need to pay. The NHS website says that they should offer 6 goes free of charge so I don't get it???

Is there anything that you ladies can suggest that I try?

Have you had all the tests? dye etc?
U tried clomid? Tell you fs ur entiltied to iui on the nhs and ask why you have to pay?
I have never heard anyone being charged before

Different PCTs have different rules. Have you had all the usual tests (blood tests, hsg, semen analysis)? If so and they can't find anything wrong, the standard NHS approach is that they will not offer any fertility treatment until you have been trying for at least 3 years.

Some consultants will offer clomid even if you ovulate ok, but some won't as they believe it make no difference. Unfortunately you can't force them to give you clomid if there is no clinical reason to do so.

Some PCTs don't offer iui because the very low success rates, so it may be that you have to go private if you want iui.

I would recommend you find the name of your PCT and then look on their websites for their fertility treatment rules. This will give you an idea of what your doctor can offer you.

Are there any herbal tablets I can try?
Having a bad day just found out my best mate is pregnant again. I am happy for her but feeling very sorry for myself
