What should I be doing?

So, I feel like I'm not doing enough with Sophia for her mental development. What should I be doing? She's 8 weeks old. Obviously when she's awake I'm singing to her, feeding her, cuddling her, but is there anything else I should be doing now to start bettering her brain development?

pop her on her play mat?

Should she be doing that now? If so I'll have to buy one! That's one of the only things we didn't get at our shower.

I feel the same at 10 weeks - I never feel like I'm doing enough with him. I have him in the rocker, on the activity mat, on a mat looking at me and we have smiles, we sing songs/nursery rhymes etc. Or go for a walk in the pram and I talk to him (without sounding too mad!) about where we are and what we are seeing.

But I feel the same - I never feel like I'm doing enough either so will watch this thread in case there are any suggestions!
