What the midwife said today...

I would ring the delivery ward and see what they say? Some midwives are a bit rubbish (mine definitely is) You shouldnt get yourself worried, I'v just looked on this graph thing my midwife gave me and you are measuring inbetween the average percentile line and the lower one. When my midwife explained it to me she said some people have bigger babies and measure on this line (which is the one above the average) and some have small ones (which is the one you are measuring just above) at my last appointment my midwife said she predicted about 7lb and im on the average line so it doesnt really make sense.

I would ring the hospital, they might scan you (it will be nice to see bubs again :) )

Thanks hun - yes it would be nice for a scan to see bubs, again :cloud9:, but then i also dont want to waste their time if there is nothing wrong. I am going to the hospital on Wedensday for my antinatal class so thought i would take my notes with me and show the midwife there and see what she has to say, at least i will be there, and if there is any even slight worry from her surely she would say, well while your here, best to get checked, thats what im thinking, or do you think i should jorust call them

I'm just saying ring for your peace of mind, if you can wait until wednesday then just ask then but if you're getting worried just ring them. They might say no it's fine dont worry, then atleast you'll know it's ok.

I'm pretty sure it's fine. She'l have seen it all before thats probs why she's not booked you in for a scan and you are not even on that low line on the graph youre above that and my midwife was sayin all 3 were normal.

It's up to you, i'd be inclined to ring but i panic all the time ha xxxxx

Where are u plotted on your graph? Are ure measurement in btween the lines? I measured small with Joshua, was sat jus above bottom line. If I'd have gone under I think then u get sent for a scan. It's all estimates anyway

am sure u have nothing to worry about, but if u are thencall mw for peace of mind

Xx

my daughter had a big head at birth hun its no prob i had a small tear well a graze really was no big deal no stiches required. was same as you the midwife said oh shes got a good size head dont worry hun x x

Now im worrying myself...reading my notes from today, the fetal heatbeat was recorded at 120bpm, thats very much at the bottom of the 'recommended' scale isnt it...?

A FH of 120bpm is absolutely normal and if the midwife was concerned she would send you in for monitoring. The resting fetal heart baseline can be anything between 110bpm-160bpm and raise higher than this during active periods. My baby's heart was always between 115bpm and 140bpm with accelerations as high as 175bpm during active periods.

:)

Hey, try not to worry :flower:

Where are you plotted on the growth chart in your notes?

If you are in between the lines, then that is why you have not been sent for a scan.

I have measured 3/4 weeks behind consistantly, BUT for me that is way, way below the bottom line on my customised growth chart. So I have been sent for 3 growth scans - when I'm scanned he is measuring spot on (my huge bump just seems to disappear when I lie down!).

If your midwife isn't worried, pehaps you are in the normal range for you? (Hope that makes sense) :flower:
