what to do about money "/

Before i was pregnant id only ever done jobs like door canvessing (which involves alot of walking, not to mention the crap money) and promotional work. So ive never really had sales assistant experience (working with cash registers) and things like that which is making it really had to get a job. Now im pregnant i want to buy all the big stuff by myself e.g cot, pram , my mum has said she'd buy it but i wanna do it on my own. So how can i make money, im going to sell some stuff on ebay and amazon, but are there any other sites that i can sell stuff? or any other ways that i can make a bit of extra money? I will get a £500 grant at 32 weeks i think it is, but i still want to buy stuff myself, and i get £30 a week from college which i can save to buy some bits.

Where you live do you have like a market? or little shops you can start part time work in. Just write a really good CV and had it out to anyone. You get like 190 at 21 weeks i think too my MW said just keep trying x

You live in Bournemouth right? Pop to the local shops and ask if they need any Xmas temps! I know quite a few places are hiring, my mates just got one in Wilkos

not sure how old you have to be, but if you have loads of local mates who love make-up try Avon, i did it for a while and it was good money plus you get loads of free samples to keep pampering yourself

I stopped spending any money I got (EMA from the last few weeks of college [I had my summer bonus too, which I'm aware they don't do anymore], birthday money and I managed to make a fair amount on eBay) and put it into a separate bank account that I vow not to touch until babe's here.

A LOT of my stuff is second-hand - pram, cot and carseat is what student services at my college provided me with. And then my Health in Pregnancy grant of £190 went towards the other stuff I needed for her - still had quite a bit left over for the baby bank. I'm set to do a few training courses soon, which'll get me the occassional £75 two-day job. I'll be applying for Income Support on Monday (available from 29 weeks) which is £51.85 per week. And then I'm expecting the £500 Maternity Grant when she's born too.

By the time I had finished college, no one would accept me for a proper job, so it's not impossible to save without one. The easiest thing for you to do is to save up your EMA. I don't know how much time you have left at college, but it will definitely help.

you can sell some nice handmade things on etsy. there are some ridiculously priced things on there that you could probably get away with making for the same price haha.

I would say just apply for any job you can, even if you think they won't hire you because you don't have any experience. If you seem friendly and reliable, you might have as good of a chance as someone who has experience. And you never know if you don't try! Everyone has to start somewhere, they can't expect everyone to have plenty of previous work experience.

- if you meet requirements you can get £500 sure start grant.
- under 18 or one IS etc. you will get healthy start vouchers for baby milk, milk, fruit, veg etc.

and the biggest one - try and get a job. Don't rely on others to fund your baby for you. Knowing that you are able to rpovide for them is the biggest sense of achievement I could ever have dreamed of.

They are stopping the HIP grant of £190 if you are under 25weeks pregnant by the 1st of january 2011 you wont be able to get it.

Maybe trying looking for a christmas temp job?

When I was pregnant I sold on Ebay, did online surveys (have to look for reliable ones & they do take a while!) Try looking at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/index.php they have ways of upping your income, also freebie, competitions etc, it may help you to get some ideas x
