What to put on toast/in sandwiches?

Riley loves pizza toast, so just toast one side of the bread, then put tomato puree on the none toasted side with what ever else (he had ham and pineapple today, also likes tuba and sweetcorn.. The options are endless!) then grate cheese on top, mixed herbs and wap it back underthe grill to melt, cuz it in squares/fingers, perfect, warm or cold, it's great to make to take out with us too, and can always vary what toppings we use, it's brilliant!

What a great idea! I will try this when my LO is old enough to be weaned.

hayden had his first 'sandwich' yesterday - philadelphia on a slice of bread, with sticks of cucumber on the side. loved it :)

he has had toast before, and seemed to prefer it not toasted. although it could have been the philly making the difference, i guess. it did get very squished and soggy, though.

Ivy usually has pitta bread with hummus or tzatziki for lunch. Cultured baby!

I do this too! I keep a big bag of frozen peppers in the freezer and use them as a topping.

I'll be trying it too, sounds good :)

when you make the pizza toasts, do you use the tomato puree you buy in tubes / cans etc, or do you make your own?

nicole luvs jam on her toast only strawberry though. and marmalade but only the strongest tasting one, really tangy. she then licks it off and then munches on the toast.

Sometimes I use shop bought tomato puree, sometimes I use leftover homemade pasta sauce :)
