I had my 8 week ultrasound last night and it was amazing!
My baby's little heart sounded so strong. First it was measured at 173 bpm, then 176!

What was yours?

Since this is my first one, when she told me the heartbeat, I freaked out at first cause i thought it seemed so high. I see now it's normal :)

They are looking for 120-180 bpm.
Something fun: This theory states that if the foetal heart rate is above 140 beats per minute (BPM), then the baby is more likely to be a girl. If the heart rate is below 140 BPM then the chances are that the baby will be a boy.
Are we all having girls??

That theory was wrong for all of mine haha! My girls both averages 136bpm and my boy about 160.

Damn!! Lol
I think I'm having a boy so it will be interesting to see.

Not quite 8 weeks but had a scan on Tuesday at 7+4. Heartbeat was 157.

How do you get to know the heart rate so early? Do they tell you or is the information on the scan photo?

My kids' were 150 (boy), 145 (boy), 160 (girl) and 180 (boy) at around 8 weeks. I'm only 6 weeks along with this one and am in no rush to see the doctor, but all of your numbers are perfect!

Had my scan at 9 weeks 1 day and heartbeat was 176 :)
Boobee the info is usually given by the ultrasound tech while she shows you the baby

I got measured at 8w+6 with a heart rate of 179. Someone further up this convo said 180 is the upper end of the spectrum?? Should i be worried o.0

I had a scan at 8+3 and HB was 174.

When I had a scan around 8 weeks w/ my daughter her HB was 189. :flower:

8 + 3 heart rate was 164! I've had the "feeling" it is a girl, but I guess my odds are 50/50!!!
