I'm currently on maternity leave, going back to work this wednesday. I work in a nursery and my LO is going to come to my nursery, childcare is costing £300 ish per month.

However, I have just been offered a job in another nursery, with free childcare for staff.

What would you do?
My LO has already had his settling in sessions at nursery and seems to love it, and I also love it there and have been there for a number of years, get on well with everyone etc.

Do I go for the new job with free childcare that would mean we would be a lot better off, or do I stay where I am now and not uproot LO?

Happiness is more important than money, that said your lo prob won't even notice the change as they're very adaptable. If the new place is as good as the other & staff seem okay then maybe go for it. It's a tough decision to make, but only you can decide. Good luck & hope all goes well whatever choice you make :flower:

That's tough tbh- I see both sides. But, if you love your job, the staff and are happy with where you (and LO) are, you have to decide if it's worth the chance to move for free care? If you can afford the care- and that's not an issue- then might be better to remain where you are. I do think that LO's are resilient though- and can adjust to change just fine with a little time... you'll be there either way too. So that would make it easier for LO as well.

If you feel the new job would be a good opportunity- and hey, free up some extra money to do fun things with your LO, why not? I think you just have to trust what your gut is telling you though. :) Sorry no better advise.

I'd have a look at the other one, lo is easily moved at a young age. X x

I'd definitely go to the new nursery, free childcare is incredibly generous, sounds like your still happy with the look of this one and LOs are adaptable, DS is on his second nursery and second childminder.

I'd move without a doubt!

Thanks, I think it's just the idea of going through the hassle of moving jobs, getting to know everyone etc, but looks like it may be worth it :) I'm going to have a look around it next week to see what I think :)
