When did you start your LO on rice cereal?

Why do they offer baby rice as a first food if its no good for LO? Also from what I read when you wean (we are not quite there) you give then baby rice as a first taste before moving on the veg n fruit purée - so what about the whole other rest of the packet?!!

I BF my LO till she was 8 weeks old. She had some medical problems that were not compatible with breastfeeding. Anyway, I started her on oatmeal at 5.5 months and then went to fruit and veg after a week. Then we switched to BLW pretty quickly

Rice has a lot of arsenic in it. Yuck, I'm avoiding it like the plague! No nutritional value anyway. A baby's gut doesn't close until 6 months. Avoid intestinal obstruction by waiting to feed your kiddo until 6 months or after.
