How far was you when your LO's started to engage?
And how quickly did you go from 1/5 engaged to fully engaged?

Last thursday, midwife said his head was just entering my pelvis but not quite 1/5 engaged.
On tuesday, scan showed that he had come back out!

I have a feeling he's not going to engage, and Im gunna go over due! I really really REALLY don't want to go over due!

Also, for anyone whos baby was back to back, did they turn OK?
He is back to back at the moment, and I hope he turns. I know I still have three weeks, but delievering a baby back to back is possibly one of my worst nightmares?

Thanks X

My LO engaged about 36ish weeks, but baby has popped out again. Im 40+6 and im still only 2-3/5 engaged. Which the doctor showed me on a little drawing yesterday really isnt alot.

At my consulant appointment last week i was told it was only 1/5 engaged. or written as 4/5 lol.

I have been told alot of babies dont engage till labour, or some the day or week before. Soo i wouldnt worry to much if your LO has popped back out :hugs:

heya, 2 weeks ago i was 2/5ths engaged and then last week he had bounced back out again to 1/5th engaged

Feeling very frustrated

If youre back to back spend a lot of time on all fours, dont sit on your sofa because it probbaly makes u slouch, sit on a chair where ur knees are lower than ur pelvis and your posture is good.

The best positions are leaning forward over a birth ball or leaning forwards over the back of a dining room chair.

The babies spine is the heaviest bit of the baby once it is head down so you need to keep leaning forwards so that he/she tursn

You are in a good position to get bubs to turn. If LO was more engaged it would be difficult to get him to turn. My LO was back to back and was 2/5 engaged last wednesday (38+1) and i dont have another appointment til next wednesday (hopefully i have him by then i will be 40+1) and i researched it. Read the section titled "if your baby is already posterior" It will help. Although I went from 1/5 to 2/5 from sunday to wednesday by walking a lot so when you are ready walking does the trick to help LO engage but be sure to get LO the right way round if you can first :flower:

if this is your first baby they normally engage earlier like 35/36 weeks but for pregnancies after your first then they can come in and out of engagement and may not engage until you go into labour.

it's my first. and im 37+1 :( still no luck!! x

Mine was engaged at my 33 week appointment at my 36 week he was still engaged and my bump had dropped! Scan nxt week so hopefully he ll have engaged more! X

My LO is not engaged...his head is still bobbling high...however it CAN go fast and as for the back to back or sideways position, which mine is in, doctor says when they engage they often do this in a "corkscrew" motion so chances are that he can still easily turn.

I was 4/5 palpable at my 36 and 38 week appointments. I have another appointment tomorrow so will find out if he's moved down anymore xx

I was 2/5ths engaged at my midwife appointment yesterday - be interesting to see if she pops back up again... my tummy has definitley dropped though!!

I think little man is 2 or 3/5 engaged at the moment I think (though my midwife records the numbers in a different way - she's put 4 twice and then 3 twice the last time). He's been engaged from about 31 weeks x

Hope your bubs cooperates soon hun - we're due the same date and are both having boys  How cool! xx

Both my other los engaged from 34 weeks but both where also 10 days late

I was 1/5 engaged at 36 and 38 weeks appointment, but now free again at 40 weeks! :( Just keeping my fingers crossed!
