My son is just over 3 months,n sometimes i find that no matter what i try i cant get him 2 bring up any wind. When do babies no longer need 2 bring up wind whilst having a bottle?

When they can do it by themselves. Omar started to bring up wind without help when he started sitting unaided & rolling over at 5 mnths. We feed him on a pillow on our bed, so he used to stop feeding, roll over or sit , burp, then continue feeding.

But as he's a sicky baby we continued winding him until he was around 7 mnths old & was on proper solids xx

Ameen is also a sicky baby he will continue to throw up a little milk in between feeds and is projectile vomiting when he is having his night/early morning feed.

We did the same with Evie. Now she's 9 months, we dont wind her anymore altho I will wait till she's done a nice big burp after her bottle before putting her on the floor to play

Which formula r u using? Did u try switching to confort, anti reflux or stay down formula? Dr. Browns bottles also helps. It sound like reflux hun. xx

We stopped when he could sit up by himself, as that seemed to be when he managed on his own. I only make sure he does a burp if he's going to bed straight away, otherwise I leave him to it. Dylan was also a sicky baby, but it's got a lot better since he's got older and we've been weaning.

I'd also suggest looking into Dr brown bottles and comfort formula/gaviscon.

Im using cow and gate stage 1 in TT closer to nature bottles. I have taken him to drs a few times and they have also said its reflux and prescribed him gaviscon, it seems to work but a few days after the prescribed course has finished it starts again.

I found that anti reflux formula/ stay down works better than gaviscon. We tried TT bottles but switched to Dr. browns & it also helped. I use Aptamil AR but I dnt think u can find it where u stay. Many swear by Enfamil AR. I think C&G has stay down formula as well. xx

ETA: it takes some time to settle. Omar's reflux started to get better at 6.5 mnths & he stopped spitting at around 7.5 mnths. He still have bad days, but it's getting better xx

I've seen an Aptamil formula here in the UK that is a comfort one, and is apparently thicker (which would stay down easier I guess) Alot of people say
that it's pretty good
I think Cow and Gate do a comfort style formula too, and ALOT of people swear by SMA Staydown, which is much more specifically designed for reflux. The comfort formulas are designed with colic and constipation in mind.

Thanks ladies. I will speak with the HV and see which milk she suggests x

I stopped around 3 months with my daughter, and 7 months with twins, maybe even later.

Hi hun, my dd was like this, we eventually put her on to stage 2 C&G and she's no longer sick at all. We tried her on the comfort milk and she was still sick. It may be worth a try on stage 2. For us, it's worked a teat, we have a happier little girl who no longer wants feeding as often as she did as she's fuller for longer and she also no longer has reflux.

Ollie started to give burps by himself about 3.5 months he still gets winded after his bottle tho i just dont stress out so much when he only has little burps xxx

Babies don't always have wind, so when you don't get a burp, it doesn't necessarily mean they're able to get it up themselves. I heard a baby was able to burp itself at about 5 months, but my LO would never burp when we winded her at 3 months, though we would still try. When we would sit her up though, she would start burping by herself. She was doing that for about 2 weeks before we started giving her less burping after each feed, and eventually, about 3 weeks ago, we stopped burping her altogether. As I said, if you sit her up after a feed, she will burp herself within about 10 mins, and she's not in pain with it anymore.
