Well I'm sure I've posted this thread 100 times but this is the first time I'm going to say I don't want to stop yet. However she's getting teeth, almost 6 months and people keep asking me when I'm going to stop. I can't do it forever, so what's the age to stop do you think, and how the hell do you do it?

Jasmine still has breastmilk and shes 9months with teeth, I wanted to stop at 6months but she wouldn't, she is still on bottles aswell.

I plan to stop when Bren wants to. I am hoping to go another 6 months at least. I love nursing, and I have a great support system to go long term with my nursing.

If you want to keep nursing her Toria, do, don't let others tell you not to. As for the teeth, it takes some adjusting, but once you both get used to them being there it is no big deal. Other than the occasional nip. :)

The only time to stop is when YOU want to (unless baby wants to). Kaya's still breastfed and likely will be for a while yet.

I know some people might think this is gross, but I was breastfeed in till I was 2 1/2. Like everyone else said I would do it as long as you and she wants to.

My friends still breastfeeding her daughter, and she's almost 2. I plan to continue for as long as he wants to.

id like to go to a year and a half. i'd go to two if he really wants to but only at home not in public i think. after two years old i feel its time to stop as he won't be a baby anymore but a toddler and its important for both him and me to make that transition.

Go as long as you want. After awhile it does become more just something the mother wants and not a necessity though...

As of now, I am taking it day by day with the breast feeding. I need to wean Alexa off of her night comfort feeds first, and I have to transition her into her own crib. I would like to try to make it to nine months, but I am afraid Alexa is almost already starting to wean herself. She has one bottom tooth, and sometimes she bites, but she is doing it less frequently, as I am sure she knows she is not allowed to bite. If she gets a top tooth and starts biting, then that will have to be it, but like I said, it'sone day at a time for me... Good luck! Remember, if it is not comfortable for you anymore, then it is likely time to wean!

My friend went till 17 months - just at night and morning :)

i plan on expressing milk for the day and evening feeds and keeping the night feed nursed until jack doesnt want it

Id like to carry on past 6 months but its all up to Leo to be honest!!! I suppose after 6 months theyre not feeding as much anyway so its a little less demanding. I couldnt feed every 2/3 hours for a year! yikes!

I don't mind feeding all day and all night to be honest. I'm going to miss it so much when it comes to an end!

Im finding this decision so hard, i only wanted to bf till 6 months but i realy enjoy it and will miss it, ive started giving him 2 bottles of formula a day and im going back to work part time in 4 weeks so need to stop in the next 4 weeks but with him waking so much in the night still i really dont want to switch over yet as making up bottles in the night sounds like too much hassel lol im awake for long enough xx

Do it as long as you want hun. I'm going to *try* and make it to the year mark, the only reason I wouldn't is because my milk supply decreases sometimes when I work and it's getting harder to bring it up. It would be nice to breastfeed until 13 months so that I can wean him slowly onto cows milk.

I'm a believer in letting them wean themselves. With my first he was 14mo and had a full set of teeth. We'll see how long this one goes:)
